    Subpar experience

Sunday- Thursday stay ( Sea Tower - 5th floor) 1. 3 trips to front desk to address broken fire alarm in room on Monday 4:50 am ( went off first at 4:50 am) 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. The front desk staff didn’t even look up from his computer or even apologize after I dragged myself out of bed . Just said there was a malfunction. Two more visits to have alarm disconnected. Not pleased with having to address this 3 x. 2. Didn’t realize the bar music would be playing loudly until midnight. I have NEVER been to a resort where I had to stay up until the music stopped playing. Would have liked to get to bed before midnight. This was very irritating. 3. Came back from a beach walk around 4 pm to have our umbrella moved and loungers about to be stacked away for a corporate event. So essentially kicked out of pool area that was to close at 8. Came on a vacation to enjoy some sun and relax a little. Paid way too much to have these irritants. Currently listening to loud music because I can’t sleep. If I wanted to sleep near a bar, it should have been plainly indicated when I reserved this room. No, I would never come back to this resort. Ps . I had asked to speak to a manager and front desk staff chose to deal with fire alarm complaint on their own.

    Not a 5 star resort , but a very strong 4 . A safe bet for a week

My wife and I spent a week at the resort and we really enjoyed our stay. It’s not a 5-star luxury resort, but it’s a strong 4-star experience. The Beach: Beautiful white sandy beach with no rocks, easy access into spectacular blue water. The waves were quite rough all week — not recommended for kids under 6 or 7 — but if you’re a teen or enjoy strong waves, it’s a blast. We were only there for a week, so we can’t say if it’s always like that. The Food: The buffet is about as good as a buffet can get. They have several small stations offering different foods and most of them are very good. There’s almost no waiting, except for breakfast when the smaller restaurant is closed Tuesday to Thursday. That caused long lines at the main buffet — we waited close to half an hour one morning. We even grabbed a plate to go and couldn’t get utensils, which was frustrating. Honestly, I don’t understand why they close that restaurant when demand is so high. The à la carte restaurants are pretty good — only two are included, and we preferred the Mexican one. We also tried the steakhouse, but you have to pay extra. For an all-inclusive, that doesn’t make much sense to me… you’re either all-inclusive or you’re not! One thing you absolutely shouldn’t miss is the little coffee and ice cream shop — it’s amazing. Staff & Rooms: The staff is very friendly, the rooms are very clean, and the grounds are well maintained They really need to do a better job at explaining the different restaurants and which one you have to pay and others that are open some nights .You can see people were confused and wondering as we were what restaurants we could go to . Overall: This is a smaller resort, which we really liked. It was easy to get beach chairs, and while you need to go early for the best pool spots, it’s nothing crazy. Would we come back? 100% — it’s a safe bet. Do they have things to improve? Yes. But overall, it’s good enough to make us want to return.

    Great Choice In Cancún

We loved this hotel. We came here after a week in Puerto Vallarta where the hotel was less than mediocre, so this was a welcome change. We were met in the lobby by friendly and helpful staff and were shown to the check-in counter where the amenities of the hotel were explained to us and we were handed our wristbands. The receptionist explained that we had booked a premium room with a garden view, and then proceeded to try to sell us an upgrade, which we declined. We were shocked, however, when we got to our room. Our garden view turned out to be a view of a rooftop with a building behind it. We could hardly see any vegetation at all. To tell you the truth, I truly think that our so-called premium room was one of the worst rooms the hotel had to offer. When we made our disappointment known to reception, however, they quickly put us in a different room with a true garden view. The food was excellent. There is an Italian, Mexican, Argentine, and Brazilian restaurant in the hotel. The Argentine restaurant is not included in the all-inclusive and there is an extra charge there. There is also another buffet-style restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also a cevichería, a sushi bar, a taco bar and a hamburger, hot dog and nachos bar. The buffet breakfast was fantastic. You could also order many things a-la-carte. The lunch and dinner buffet had a wide variety of good food, but it was always the same every day and the same for both lunch and dinner. We tried the buffet, the Mexican restaurant and the Italian restaurant. Food was very good in all of them. What we really found annoying though, is that they don’t take reservations. You either had to be there right as they opened or wait in a long line to get in later. After opening they would put you on a waiting list. Without reservations, you could never plan your dinner time. It would really help if the restaurants would take reservations. The pools and beach are beautiful. The lounge chairs were new and kept clean, something we very much appreciated as lounge chair in the last hotel we were in were so old and dirty that we didn’t even want to use them. Although there are lots of lounge chairs, there aren’t nearly enough for everyone, especially on the beach. People would put their towels on them to save them at night or very early in the morning, so you might want to think about doing the same on your first day. It would have been nice if there some chairs to sit in instead of just lounge chairs, especially on the beach. The drinks were very good and the waiters came around fairly often. The staff at the hotel were super friendly and attentive. The rooms are spacious and clean, but the furniture is a bit old. The beds are comfortable. One thing we found annoying was that the bathrooms were only separated from the rest of the room by a semitransparent window and there is no door on the bathroom. It means that there is no privacy and there is no way not to disturb those who are still sleeping if you get up early and turn on the bathroom light. That we found very annoying because I get up early and my wife likes to sleep in. The daily entertainment could have been better. We have had much better in other hotels in Cancún. The location is very good and we loved the beach. There was lots of wave action, something I really like. There is, however, a very strong current so you have to be careful. There are lifeguards, who are always telling people not to go out too far from shore. All-in-all, we loved the hotel and would definitely come back. The Fiesta Americana hotel chain is always good and we have used them all over Mexico. It’s hard to go wrong in one of their hotels.
