    Good Time, Room was Lackluster

We booked a 3 night stay at the hotel based on a recommendation from a friend. Honestly the amenities are nice around the place. The food was good, as were the drinks. The staff were all very nice to us even with us not speaking any Spanish. The one hang up honestly was the room. The view of the ocean was great, but aside from that it wasn't great. The bathroom constantly stunk like someone had taken a fresh #2. The air conditioning doesn't work well at all to cool the room. We tried to use the room service, but nobody would ever pick up downstairs. The restocking of the refrigerator in the room was told to us to be done daily but we had to tell them to do it. The wifi basically never worked in the room , and for some reason the water just kept shutting off on us. 2 times during a shower it just shut off in the middle like it ran out. Another few times also, trying to use the sink in bathroom. We mentioned it to the staff and nothing was done about it. Lastly the beds are not comfortable at all which was super disappointing to wake up on vacation sore . In my opinion for me the best part of the trip was the massage therapist who was excellent. Overall,we did have a good time , but based on the room there isn't any way we'd come back to this facility.

Inexpensive with beautiful beach. But mainly caters to locals

Stayed twice, one night before going to Isla Mujeres and one night on way back. Definitely caters to locals , very few tourists. My Spanish is poor so got corrected multiple times if I tried. I understand Spanish better then I speak it so I understood the way they spoke negatively about it to each other and spoke about the non locals..Very unacceptable! Learned pay the extra for ocean front! Especially the swim up room are so worth the extra $75. The standard rooms are very, very worn and you can't sleep with the road noise all night. They do have top shelf liquor, just make sure you ask for it. Food is ok but not much choice. Tried to order pizza but takes almost 2 hours so we never got one. No entertainment and bars close at 11 so not much to do at night and nothing in the area to do. There is a beautiful beach and grounds are very clean.

    Beautiful Resort with Uninteresting Food

This is a very small, stunningly well kept resort with friendly and hardworking staff. The resort is kept pristine clean and is well maintained. We arrived late, 11:00 pm, everything was closed. No snack bar only room service and the one bar in lobby was closed so there were no drinks to be had. The resort was exceptional quiet. Our room had a walkout to a very clean pool which was amazing. The bathroom could have used some TLC but there was always lots of hot water and plenty of clean towels. Our room was cleaned daily by Levdi Perez, who was very hard working. She did a spectacular job and we wanted for nothing. The beach is beautiful white sand and there are lots of sun-beds. We had a few days of quite rough waves and the red flag was flying but when we did manage to get in, it was warm, clear with Caribbean blue water. Of course there is always a “but” and for us there were several. There was no coffee bar outside of what they offered at the dining room. There was however a Starbucks which served very expensive cold coffee. This had to be paid for with a credit card only. Then we come to the food which was a huge disappointment. Considering this is a 4 star resort our hopes were that the food would reflect this. It was incredibly uninspiring and quite honestly we had the same things served with the odd substitution every day. It was very disappointing to go to Mexico and have almost no Mexican food served. I must mention that the serving staff were very friendly and the two maître d’s especially Enrique were exceptional. We weren’t even sure if there was any evening entertainment offered. Nothing was advertised, no message board with any information. On our last evening we just happened to hear some drumming and followed the noise upstairs only to find a roof top open air “theatre” and we saw the last 5 minutes of the show. Someone mentioned it was advertised in the elevator, quite useless when we were on the main floor and never used the elevator. At the end of all my vacations I always ask myself “would I go back” and the answer is “only if the food improved drastically”.

Excellent little resort on a beautiful stretch of beach

I love love love this little place. We haven't even left yet and I'm leaving a review because I saw a recent review that was horrible for no reason. In no particular order, here are the things that are fantastic! The beach is spectacular (see photo), The room has lots of storage and we had lots of hangers. The bed, the linens and the pillows are clean and very comfortable. The little gym has a great assortment of weights. The food was great everywhere. The person who left the s***** review... If you couldn't find something on the buffet, it's because you're way too picky!!!! The staff everywhere are lovely. The women at the Albatross are kind and gave us excellent service. Edgar at the front desk was patient and lovely with us. And the servers at the pizza restaurant are also very good! And no one is looking for tips! The hotel is impeccably clean. One of the best things about this place is it's a completely non-smoking hotel!! It took me a couple of days to realize!!! And I have to say they get five stars just for that alone. For the price we paid this was excellent value for money. The only recommendation I would make is having a section of the beach loungers as a quiet zone. Every time I went to take a nap, someone started playing their speaker... I will be back!

    Would not recommend

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND flamingo. Wait time to get on to a bus at the airport was 90 minutes in hot temperatures. Everyone was frustrated. Started out poorly and stayed that way. We are not hard to please people and generally do not complain. Just regular hard working people trying to have a nice vacation. Staff were not friendly or helpful, With the exception of a few staff. Food was terrible so we had to eat off resort most days. You could watch wait staff or servers checking tables for tips after the people left and getting visible ticked off when nothing or “not enough”was left. They had no trouble telling other staff about it in Spanish with other tables still there. Rude! You would wait for a long time at the bars to get any service and then it was like you were an inconvenience. This resort caters to locals. Looks beautiful on red tag and other vacation sites and the beach and ocean are beautiful but the resort is not worth what we paid. Lesson learned….. you get what you pay for.
