#diningexperience much better than the all you can eat restaurants. Variety for all tastes.
It has been a great experience. Since early morning Paula and Javier Diaz at the Buffett restaurant are smiling welcoming to a bright day. The staff all are polite and friendly. The rooms are well cleaned; hallways are quiet. The gym is not crowded. The beach is also swimmable regardless of the struggles it’s going through sargasso. Even though it’s family friendly there is an adult pool where you can be at peace and also use the jacuzzi. We did two early tours at 6am ª catering service was available at the lobby area before our departure. #diningexperince incredible at the Marco Polo every dish was amazingly delicous . At Zai restaurant the waiter was super friendly i think his name was coco he allowed me to taste an additional dish and sang HB to my sister. Snacks are also good , who doent enjoy wings, burgers, pizza and of course French fries!! Javier even gave us some when the stand was closed. Súper pampered . Don Guz restaurant was also good although there was a power outage and I was hot no venting from windows ; got really hot well maybe it was the wine ; they worked the outage quick; ª severe storm was impacting so not blaming the hotel. #diningexperience 💎💎💎💎💎

UNDER CONSTRUCTION..AVOID..AVOID..!!
October 2025 I'm going to give you an HONEST review. Me and my wife stayed at GR Solaris Oct. 1-4 (quick in-and out) for our Anniverary. REGISTRATION- quick and easy..under 1 hour with refreshment stand nearby.(great). Concierge (Tony) friendly and helpful (thank you Tony!) He also wants to sign you up for timeshare presentations which I DID but I'll get back on this! THE ROOM - we had Deluxe Ocean view - balcony with ocean view and view of 2 main pools and the other resort property under construction. The room was spacious and clean, cable TV with maybe 10 channels in english..rest in Spanish..so brush up on your spanish! THE BEACH - it was FULL of seaweed..on the sand and in the water..not just at this resort, but all up and down the coastline! Not sure if it was due to the time of year or ocean currents but be prepared to step on-it and swim in-it if you are a beach lover. No fault to the resort..just Mother Nature. As an option, you can go to 1 of the 2 main pools not under construction or a SMALL adult pool but it was crowded for obvious reasons. THE FOOD:..eeh...just ok...a variety of offerings in the buffet and resturants (you need to sign up in advance) but nothing that will blow you away. The chicken dishes are the highlight but i found the beef dishes were overcooked and tough. Hard finding a good taco there or at their other resort...I'd love to see a stand alone TACO BAR offering CRISPY Tacos! NOW THE PROBLEMS: THE CONSTRUCTION!!..OMG..!! they are renovating one of the 2 main pools...the noise from the JACKHAMMER...THE SAWS...troweling, hammering the gawking eyes of the construction workers starts from 10am to 6pm make rest during the day nearly impossible!!!...you HAVE to get away! The first morning I went to the front desk to complain, requested a room on the lagoon side and was told "NO"..it's a downgrade. I asked for a room as far away from the construction as possible and told I could get a room higher up on the same side but it had no communication (TV or wi-fi)...WTF!!..that's not a real option!! I asked for a comparable room at one of their sister properties - Caribe or the GR Grand Royal and I offered to PAY the difference and was told.."NO"...I asked why the room was never decorated for our Anniversary and told they didnt know but i could pay extra for it for the next day then my frustration turned to anger! So, I figured I'd let them know during the timeshare the next day and I DID!! Afterward, they gave me back the deposit, tequila and 2 spa passes which turned out to be USELESS..as the spa at Solaris Cancun could only honor one of them and that was the morning we were leaving! Tony at concierge was nice enough to call the timeshare group and convert the spa passes to a gift certificate for use on the 2 on-site gift shops however it was less than the going value of the spa!! But Thank You Tony for the effort! And after PAYING a fee they did decorate our room the next day with chocolate strawberries and a bottle of bubbly! Now for THE BRIGHT SPOT: our excursion..the XOXIMILOC in Xcaret (booked offsite)...5 stars!!!...man what a BLAST!!! Its a boat ride similar to the rides in Venice Italy but larger!. You sit with a small group in your boat and float slowy along with other boats in a large park at night and its beautiful!!...sampling Mexican drinks, foods, sweets, and snacks all while going from area to area dancing to the regional music!! If you do any excursion make sure to sign up for THIS ONE!!! (Thank you Pachito!) IN CONCLUSION: other than at Reception and the timeshare mishap, I found people at the resort mostly helpful, friendly and accommodating...BUT I WOULD AVOID this resort for at least the next 4-5 months due to the noise and construction. If you must go to a Cancun GR resort..choose the Royal Solaris or Solaris Caribe...OR a different brand altogether..but don't say I didn't tell you!!..THE RESORT WON'T!!
