Relaxation and leisure
Enjoying the hospitality here at the resort. Food in the buffet was quite good and service friendly. The room is very comfortable and spacious. Enjoyed the yoga classes with NRG2GO and games in the pool. Looking forward to more time relaxing at the beach and long beach walks.

You Leave as Family
Fantastic resort!! Amazing staff. Entertainment team is excellent, Jessie, Adeli, Ajeury, Luis, Carlos, Rae, Christine from Nrg2go. Great classes and activities. The people that work outside are such hard workers. The rooms are so clean. The buffet staff are wonderful. The front desk staff are so patient. Great food, people, and just a warm feel to this resort. The nightly entertainment is done by 11 p.m. which is great. The location is really good. The beach is beautiful. Thank you to everyone for making my vacation such an amazing one. The white night celebration with Oscar, the general manager of the resort does a fantastic job welcoming all the guests, and recognizing all the hard work, effort, and time that his staff put into making the vacation great for everyone.

HONEST 3.5* Review
1 week all-inclusive trip with 17 friends in 14 rooms I have been to Puerto Plata before and travel many times to the Dominican (usually Punta Cana) and Mexico each winter We were disappointed in the significant difference between TripAdvisor's 4.2* and recent guests' 5* overall ratings with our 3.5* experience. I believe TripAdvisor's rating is scewed because of the average of many decades over a very old resort? (I wish we could see the average over the last year only!) I wouldn't rate any category as a 5* so I guess the bartenders were very generous! Lol PROS: Smaller resort with quick access to everything Beautiful long beach for walking Snorkelling just in front of the beach Beautiful architecture Nice combined pools and there is an adult only one Wifi everywhere in the resort Clean resort and rooms Silent party Fried chicken wings and grilled fish at Beach Grill Salmon, shrimp, pumpkin soup and caramel cake in Octopus Grill restaurant Room 2332 had a high peaked ceiling in quiet area and balcony with side view of the beach CONS: Smokers everywhere (even though it's posted as not allowed) Small unmarked tripping hazards everywhere! No elevators for 3 floors Very dated rooms requiring lots of servicing No dresser for storing clothes Key locking safes (with $50 USD deposit) instead of code-entry Very old and noisy fridges and AC units Turn off AC and it floods the room from melting ice buildup Ceiling fan only has 1 high speed and cannot reach chain on the peak ceiling to change it No hot water many times in some rooms out of our 14 Mould in some of the bathrooms Very little, if any, variety in the buffet for all meals They use way too much salt in all of their food NO drinkable white wine except in a la carte restaurants; red wine was barely passable (both were poured from gallon plastic or glass unlabeled jugs!) Crap beer (Presidente only) 2 tier guest classifications with Premium upgrade required just to get drinkable drinks Constant REPEAT bombardment by beach peddlers walking between loungers Very loud constant entertainment around shared/combined pool (pool bar, kids, volleyball, aquafit, games) Some mosquitos around resort Tiny public washrooms (stall door opens over the toilet seat) Very low toilet seats everywhere (14"?) No sports bar within the resort or tv's available for popular sports Lack of fans on the covered stage entertainment area (this is especially important when shows use smoke/dry ice)
