  Nice but with a few buts..

  Lets start with the positives because it’s always easy to point out the bad. The food was surprisingly pretty good ! Enough variety and the speciality restaurants were a nice variety ( only 3 times you can make a reservation for a weeks stay). The pool was big and nice but get a lounger early because the beach isn’t as popular as the pool is and it fills up quick.the beach looks nice but there are jellyfish that will sting ( saw it happen a few times). The entertainment at the pool was very loud, sometimes too loud to my liking ( I brought ear plugs for my own comfort). Bar and drinks were fine. Be aware that on some days ( weekend or holidays) day-time people can join and it’s overcrowded. We did one boat tour to Catalina island so my son also could have a deep sea dive. Diving and snorkeling is nice but the Catalina island visit is disappointing. Broken chairs and very mediocre food. Also the ride itself was very uncomfortable. They boat went way to fast for the swells of the sea and almost got me hurt a few times. We had a fun week but will go somewhere else next time.

  Best experience with my children.

  I had an excellent e experience with my family. Everything was very good, the food, drinks, pool, activities. But the best part was the hospitality. The workers were exceptional, professional, polite, helpful, I can go on. They should get pay more. They make up the resort.

  Great place but needs tlc in rooms lots of broken little things let the place down so do the guest service managers

  Amazing place staff are great food is fantastic Shame about the stupid no kids (18)in the pool without an adult in with them Stupid as our child is 9 and can swim the pool is only 1.4 deep she can stand in it and breath fine and it’s not like we leave her to it as parents were alway watching her and making sure she’s safe after speaking with management I said the rule won’t work for us as there is time she will be in the pool under our supervision as we have done for the pass 4 years since she could swim and we check water depth the hotel said ok after 24 hours The loss of a 5ah power bank due to reception staff taking towels but not check for other items with the towels and not really giving a good amount of notice about the rule no towels till after 9am which for over last 4 days hasn’t been an issue the amount of people that place towels nearly all the day and don’t use them is more of a joke. and staff should note them more than ear,y sunrise watcher that go for breakfast and spend the day at the pool. Putting a kids mini disco outside where the smokers are and a good few drunks around wasn’t a good safe place for the kids to be as as for the silent kids disco it was a good idea but as I say bad place to be due to the fact the people that had been drinking all day could understand why there was no music on for them while the silent mini disco was on It’s a shame things aren’t acted upon properly 10 out of 10 for place food and staff 4 out of 10 for guest services and management for not explaining silly rules properly and not putting safety of the kids first 3 out of 10 for the sea beach was fine but we knew the river makes the sea look dull before booking Rooms need tlc to bring them back to great standard

  Great Value, Great Experience, and a Resort I’d Happily Return To

  I just returned from Bahia Principe Explore La Romana after a week with my family, and all I can say is that I’m already looking forward to going back. POSITIVE The resort sits on a private beachfront with no neighboring hotels, making the entire property peaceful, clean, and easy to walk. Nights are quiet, and the two‑story buildings give it a relaxed, intimate feel. Rooms are spacious with plenty of storage, and the balconies include a drying rack, table, and chairs. Guests were friendly, and we never encountered drunk or disruptive behavior. The front desk staff was consistently helpful—one of our TVs had an issue, and it was fixed immediately after we reported it. Entertainment was a standout. The team offered a full schedule of daytime and evening activities, genuinely engaged guests, and made everything fun. Prizes for the winners were impressive (rum, wine, Dominican coffee). Most shows were very good, with only one that could use improvement. The lobby music—mostly Latin—was excellent, and we danced every night. The Friday beach party featured a fire show and a great mix of Latin and hip‑hop. Dining exceeded expectations. The buffet had options for everyone, including fresh pastries, breads, fruits, hot dishes, cereals, and natural juices. Dinner themes changed nightly, so meals never felt repetitive. All three à la carte restaurants were worth visiting, with great flavor, presentation, and choices—even for picky eaters. Pool, bars, and beach: There were plenty of chaise lounges at both the pool and beach, so no need to wake up early unless you want a specific spot. Bars were well stocked with every type of alcohol, and the bartenders were fantastic. The beach is calm and relaxing, with a beautiful pier that has benches at the end—perfect for sunset. Kayaks are available, and the area is large, safe, and enjoyable. Overall, the resort offers excellent value for what you receive. NEGATIVE Rooms: There aren’t enough outlets to charge multiple devices, so bring an extension with several ports if you travel with electronics. Beach: If you’re expecting the bright turquoise Caribbean waters, this isn’t the resort for you. I knew this beforehand from reviews, so it wasn’t a surprise. Even without the blue water, the beach is clean, peaceful, great for walking, and ideal for kayaking—so in the end, it didn’t matter to me.
