Jan 11, 2026Lower Your Expectations
The resort is very nice. However, while I had a confirmed reservation for a Mountain View room in the main lodge, I was put in an area far away and had a terrible view. What made it worse, was the front desk staff were very rude when I asked for another room and said there was nothing they could do. Please be aware that even if you have a specific reservation, it may not be honored. Certainly disappointing when you’re paying $800 a night per room.

Jan 07, 2026The Grand Hyatt Vail always delivers!
We come to the Grand Hyatt Vail every year as we always have a great experience, but this year was even better than usual! The Cascade Lift was open to ski out from, but the Simba trail was not open to ski back to the hotel on. This was not the hotel's fault, just the poor snow conditions so far this year in Colorado, but we were very impressed with the hotel shuttle to return from skiing to the hotel. We never had to wait more than a few minutes and there is live tracking so you can see where the shuttles are at any one time. In addition, we think the bedding was upgraded since last year, our room was immaculately clean with excellent temperature control, and the ski valet services were exemplary. We also thought the food, both in selection and quality, at both breakfast and dinner were even better than previously. The Grand Hyatt Vail doesn't just rely on having an amazing location, but also delivers amazing experiences with service, atmosphere, dining and amenities! Thank you for another amazing stay!

Best hotel experience in years!
Grant and all the Hyatt staff curated to most incredible and deeply memorable experience for our family! From an impeccably clean, gorgeous room to the thoughtful cozy igloos next to the pool area (especially great when trying to get little ones out of the cozy outdoor pool), the stay was nothing short of perfection.

Jan 05, 2026Gessner's Restaurant and Bar needs to be closed permanently!
A 4 star review because of a terrible dining experience at Gessner's Restaurant & Bar. Do not go. It will ruin your entire experience in Vail. Splurge a little and enjoy Makato or venture to Vail Village for some local eatery. Other than Gessner's the experience was great! I would most certainly stay again, but Gessner's should be closed or management/staff need to all be fired and hire competent staff.
