  The overall was great

  Overall it was great, but we didn't not appreciate to lose half of day of vacation of 7 days to get trap to have some one try to sell us the option to be a member of the Palladium . That was very disappointing.

  Hello, It is a great resort but we had a bad experience where no one listened to us for a quick solution. - We found the minibar bad - The bathroom dirty. I want to highlight some people from the staff who made our stay more pleasant. In entertainment Lisselotte and Edwin - Francisco of the restaurant El Dorado César in the accompaniment of the stay.

  Disappointing return to Palladium

  We've been to the DR a few times already, always staying at different hotels. However, this time we decided to return to Palladium because, after our last visit, we voted it the best hotel out of all the ones we'd stayed at. What an unfortunate mistake! Check-in and room Check-in took longer than our journey from the airport! If you know guests are arriving, I think it would be worth scheduling more than one person at reception. The person checking us in was great, though, and super friendly. Unfortunately, we couldn't get a room with two beds, as requested. We were told we could move after two days, but who wants to do that? We decided to stay in the room with one bed rather than unpack, pack, and unpack all over again. Regarding the cleaning, a lot has changed since our previous visit, and unfortunately, for the worse. The room wasn't cleaned properly, but as we were only sleeping there, I'll leave it at that. One day, we had a random leak in the wardrobe?! I assume it was coming from the room above. I tried calling reception from the room, but had no luck, so we went down to report it in person. There was no apology or any follow-up afterwards. Due to a strong storm and a power cut, we also had no Wi-Fi in our room for two days. We had to go closer to reception to use it. Restaurants and food The restaurants have changed as well. As they are now separate from the Bávaro section, we couldn't use the restaurants there. We tried the steakhouse once and received our steaks without the sauces we'd ordered. The steaks weren't particularly good either. We decided to give it another chance, and the food was better, but once again, there were no sauces. If you don't serve them at all, perhaps remove them from the menu! We also tried the Italian restaurant. The food was okay, but the waiter seemed either overwhelmed or simply unable to manage everything. We waited a long time and received only part of the food we'd ordered. He offered us desserts, but we had to remind him that our starter had never arrived. He sorted that out, but when the dessert arrived, there was a fly on it! We showed it to the supervisor and left. The buffet, on the other hand, is amazing! I will never believe anyone who says there isn't enough food or that the food isn't good, because it really is amazing. There are so many options that you can eat something different every day. For me, the most important thing is the fresh fruit, which is constantly replenished and checked. Unfortunately, the service was much worse than during our last visit. On a few occasions, we didn't receive our water or coffee, so we simply finished eating and left. Some staff seemed upset, tired, or just unbothered. A huge thank you to Jesus for our omelettes and to Aurelis, who was so friendly and helpful! Transport around the resort I don't know what happened to the carts this time, but on many occasions they drove past without picking up any guests. We walked pretty much everywhere, though, so it didn't bother us too much. Saona Island trip – please don't book it through the staff around the pool! We bought an excursion to Saona Island from one of the staff members walking around the pool, and it was the biggest waste of money. Please don't do it! Our transport arrived 45 minutes late. The bus was in terrible condition, with broken seats and a broken front driver's window. There was no tour guide, just the driver who took us to the parking area. From there, another guy simply told us to follow him. He was probably the most unbothered person I met during the entire holiday. He took us to a speedboat, even though I'd specifically mentioned when booking that I wanted the trip without a speedboat, using only a catamaran. Apparently, "yes, of course" doesn't actually mean anything! There was nobody there to speak to about it, either. We couldn't all fit on one boat, so they took us back to another one, with yet another new person in charge. We ended up squeezing four people onto one bench alongside people from different groups. We completely missed the good weather that we could have enjoyed on the catamaran. We eventually got a catamaran on the way back, but by then, the weather had already turned bad. Lunch was awful. The salad had clearly been sitting in the sun for far too long and tasted horrible. We've been to Saona a few times already, and I strongly recommend booking through Tripadvisor instead. In our experience, those trips have been on time, and the staff have looked after us. When we returned, I wanted to share my feedback with the guy we'd bought the excursion from. He didn't even want to wait for me to finish speaking and simply said, "Just write the review." So here I am! Animation team and entertainment When we arrived, the animation team was seriously understaffed. Of the two people working, one called in sick, leaving the other to do everything without even a break or lunch. The same thing happened again on another day. Towards the end of our holiday, some of the team returned from their days off and brought some lovely energy back. However, once again, this wasn't the experience we remembered from our last visit. Some days were simply boring. We tried spending time at another pool, but that was even worse. The evening entertainment was good, though, and there's always live music in the lobby, where you can enjoy a drink. A big bravo to Boss Banana, especially for the DJ set at the pool, and a huge thank you to Alex, Mimi, Maluma, and Edwin. If you have all of them around, you'll be lucky! Bars and cocktails If you have favourite drinks, you'll most likely get them at the lobby bar. However, the pool bar ran out of Aperol or Campari and didn't restock for an entire week. Thank you to Andres for making such lovely cocktails! The pool The pool itself is very clean, and there are plenty of sunbeds. However, we had a strange situation when we left for lunch and returned to find that our towels, which we'd secured with clips, had been removed. We still have no idea who took them. The couple we found there afterwards said the sunbeds had been empty when they arrived. A very strange situation! Final thoughts Unfortunately, we won't be coming back. It's a shame because our previous visit left us with such a good impression that we considered Palladium the best hotel we'd stayed at in the DR. This time, too many things were disappointing, from the service and room maintenance to the restaurants, animation, and excursion we booked. There were still some positives, especially the buffet, the clean pool, the evening entertainment, and the lovely staff members who genuinely made an effort. I'll leave it up to you to decide whether you want to try it. Everyone likes different things, and everyone's experience will be different. I've simply shared my own experience and the points that mattered to me.

  Improvements Needed

  The room should always have a working phone, and employees should be more attentive. Due to the size of the resort, transportation within hotel from room to beach or elsewhere should be move convenient.
