Great place to visit all inclusive

Right from the start I was impressed with this hotel. The taxi driver that dropped us off forgot one of the bags in the back of his car. The security and bus boys went through their security camera footage to track down the taxi and called and had them drop off the bag. It was a medical bag so it really did need it. The food in the buffet and the service is absolutely amazing. Luis, Alfredo, and Arsenio are so attentive and it's absolutely amazing how they just remember what you want. You sit down at the table and your drinks are there without even asking. There are three large pools. One is adult only which is nice. There are two hot tubs and of course there's the beach on the ocean that you can snorkel in and you can see fish. There's a pelican that routinely comes around and eats the fish, but he's beautiful too. The maids are hard-working and keep everything clean and fully stocked.

    Excellente!

I’ve never left a review while I was still on location, but here goes … IT’S AMAZING! Con’s: honestly, not one. Pro’s: -Despite other reviewers, ALL elevators on resort worked for our entire week - beds, pillows and blankets are nicer and more comfortable than we have at home. - All employees at the resort are kind and hardworking (not that I want to see someone working hard haha) - Food in the buffet was always delicious and plentiful. They follow proper food handling procedure. Yes, some types of food are cool but it’s on purpose. There are heat trays under hot food and cooling trays under food that should be kept cool. - Buffet restaurant is air conditioned. - All restaurants ask if you have allergies - No waiting in line at al a cartes; you’re provided with a buzzer while you wait - just grab a drink from the bar and wait. - Daily entertainment/guest participation poolside led by appropriately named Funtastic Team members - Grounds and all buildings constantly being cleaned. All in all - a wonderful vacation. We will be back!

    Love it? Leave it?

This will be a mixed review. I’ve been a member of Royal Holiday Vacation Club since 2010 and have had great experiences at this hotel even before it was designated a “Grand Park Royal”, (an apparent upgrade from just a “Park Royal”). In the last two trips I have had to this location it has not been what I’d call a “grand” experience. In fact, their policies for members has become very discriminatory. They have so many levels of all-inclusive bands and each gives members a different level of access. This was not the case before. All members received the best perks of membership. Since I purchased 15 years ago, I am no longer valued as a member in the same way as newer members are valued. This was explained to me because of the “investment” these new members have made in the club is much more than I paid. Hmmmmm…. Anyone heard of inflation? I must clarify, that the discrimination I have experienced is a “first-world” problem and I recognize that aspect fully. In boils down to the fact that we seem to no longer be able to access rooms with ocean views, updated furnishings, and larger terraces at this resort. Also, there are member perks no longer available to us such as reserved seating at restaurants and poolside day beds. I present this information as a warning to anyone considering joining this club to understand that unless you are investing enough in this club to be a at a Platinum or Black Band level (new levels), you won’t have the same experience as these members. This has only been at issue at the Grand Park Royal Grand Cozumel. We’ve had outstanding members privileges at the Grand Park Royal Grand in Cancun and Puerto Vallarta that did not depend on the color of our band. We had a dedicated “mayordomo” that checked in with us daily, made reservations for us at restaurants, and reserved pool-side and beachside day beds for our use. Additionally, their other Park Royal resorts have offered spectacular benefits (Ixtapa and Huatulco). While these latter two resorts do not have daybeds, the Royal Holiday representatives went out of their way to ensure we had the most comfortable stay. Now for the best parts—- If you are visiting Cozumel, the Grand Park Royal is a great choice. The staff really make this place “grand”, including the hard-working housekeeping staff, maintenance (constantly cleaning every surface), the chefs and waitstaff, bell hops (shout out to Mario), bartenders (shout out to Carlos). These staff were always “grand” before the official designation by Royal Holiday. The food is outstanding, including the buffet. The “El Pescador” restaurant with a la carte service for lunch is a must. The Mexican Restaurant is so good (ask for spicy salsas, the chefs are eager to kick it up a notch). The Italian Restaurant is highly sought after by guests, however, I would say the Mexican Restaurant offers the tastiest fare. The location is great. Not too far south on the island, so trip from the airport is short. The cruise ship pier is adjacent to the resort, so seeing these behemoths coming and going is a beautiful view (if you get a room above floor 5). For scuba divers, you can often arrange for your pick-up at the resort’s pier (so convenient). If you love snorkeling, you have a “private beach” at the resort’s pier and the option to cross the street and go to Tikila’s Bar and step into a spectacular snorkeling spot. Tips— ask for a room above floor 5 and on the south side of the building. The north side is near the lobby and lobby bar and can be loud later into the evening. Don’t attend the Royal Holiday Club presentation at this location. The club is great, but you’ll want your home club location to be one of their other resorts unless you have $50K+ to invest upon your initial enrollment.
