Service Excellence at Grand Serenis Riveria Maya
Staff were exceptional and made every attempt to be accommodating and proactive with their service. We spent quite a bit of time at the ULC. Staff members there were amazing like Nicole at the Aroma coffee shop who knew us and remembered our orders each day and served with kindness and a smile. Others were had were also wonderful staff like Enrique, Louis, and Betty the chef and others. The resort itself was very clean and Staff working around the clock. Rooms were very clean with pristine white linens and towels. Lots of space to find your spot for the day. Ocean was warm. Pools very clean. Resort tastefully designed and decorated with nature in mind. As people who follow a plant-based vegan lifestyle, service staff and chefs did their best to accommodate and the meals we had were high quality and delicious at the restaurants. The only down-side is vegan options were very limited with only one option, if that. Marlene, Juan Manual as concierge staff were welcoming and helpful. Overall, a super relaxing, high-end experience.

Solo trip to an all inclusive
Osmar May was a great server. Very attentive and kind! The resort is large with many pools, entertainment and lots of food. Many buffets and themed restaurants. Most of the food was pretty good. Cocktails were good as well. I would have like for there to be more grab and go options as I tend to snack rather than sit down for all meals.

Lovely hotel but dont attend the invite only ‘members’ breakfast.
First of all ambundio (the middle section) from the breakfast in the La Verbena was 10/10, never met someone more polite and greatful, felt very happy giving him tips, as his responses easily make your day. Rooms: Stayed here for a week, rooms are lovely they gave us the option for a king size bed instead which was nice. The rooms are immaculate, comfortable and nice size, I see what people mean by slight wear and tear, but its nothing to put you off. (added pictures, not the best as taken from a video) If you leave a tip in the fridge, they will give you extra drinks/beers etc and when they clean the rooms they are always super nice. Food: Reservations were hard to get, most places you could get for 9:15 but very late, only managed to get one reservation for 6:30 the whole week, I think its cause they prioritise the club members. Butchers restaurant was also closed most the week We also had someone else using our room number to make reservations by the concierge which made it harder to. HOWEVER the buffet food is very high standard, restaurants are also very good and waiters are lovely there is always something for everyone to eat. The waiters do highly appreciate any tips definitely make sure you bring enough money for tips. Lazy river/Pools: They can be quite cold but always easily can get a sunbed no matter what the time is. At the start of the stay it was more quiet but near the end I think spring break was in full swing and kids were just swimming the lazy river and super unpolite and would swim under you or push you through, felt bad for the guy who mans the lazy river as the kids would just clog up the river with rings and he would be left to do it all, The guy who works the lazy river is really lovely. But its not adult only so it is what u get- if you go when its not school holidays etc it would be extremely peaceful and nice like it was for us at the beginning The ‘ultimate leisure club’ my only major con- If you get offered a lovely free breakfast by the beach at the members club where you can win a free weeks holiday to colombia DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My boyfriend started speaking to the concierge who made us feel like we was his favourite friends haha, and offered us a ‘limited invite’ and his words- a breakfast by the beach where people have £100 worth of crazy food, and you may be offered the membership but its really lovely, and then you get offered a free spa as a gift’ First of all you get picked up in the shuttle, which takes you to breakfast where you have to sign a load of things, then you go for breakfast where a sales person sits opposite you both the whole time. The breakfast was worst than the buffet and its not very relaxing having a sales person opposite you. That takes about an hour then the guy takes you to view all the different level of membership rooms- in my opinion its the exact same as the room ‘normal’ people have but with brown wood and the bath sits in the middle of the room instead of against the wall? You get told this will all be 90 mins long and it actually took 3 hours with us asking to stop if not i see it taking another 2 atleast. They tell you theres no pressure they dont mind if u say no and they will leave you alone, but thats not the case. Instead of just giving you the prices they do a comparison bla bla bla. Example we paid about 1.3k each on tui with flights everything included, but for an extra 23k and another £662 every time you stay there and no flights or anything included, you can get to be part of the members club. For sales people- common knowledge would be if you bribe people with a breakfast by the beach (it wasnt even by the beach) and this fake holiday (Im sure you will win if you buy into it though) for a 3 hours sales pitch, no one is going to buy into a time share scheme. Even after saying no they have to do ‘quality checks’ and do all this random stuff to prove to you and even when i said this makes no sense and doesnt make it any cheaper, they didnt even dissagree. Wasted alot of time and after trying to show we was in a rush to leave they just carried on, the raffle for the free holiday obviously didnt happen. Its all a con and a great way to make people attend a sales pitch that they wouldnt otherwise attend. If we hadnt got bribed into that, I wouldve easily given 5 stars. Apart from that, the staff are nice regardless wether you are part of the membership or not, i didnt even know it existed before i got there but all they get is a ‘beach club’ in other words a small pool on the beach, and another pool near the main pool (but theres doesnt have a swim up bar so your not missing out) The beach is nice also, they cleared the seaweed every morning and its a nice clear beach with plently bars and sand. They also have a dolphin part where you can pay to take pictures of dolphins in the tank type thing, but didnt personally do it so Im not sure how well treated they are etc but it is there. I would definitely stay again, but would also look around to see what other hotels are around- as was quite annoyed by the wasted half a day.

Won't return
The resort was under renovations while we were there so not everything was open. We went down as guests for a wedding. Our rooms were in need of a makeover. Some of us didn't have power in our room, some didn't have a working safe and the soon to be bride and groom checked into a room that was flooded. Not the friendliest people at the front reception. No one bothered to explain the shuttle bus service which was non existent. Lots of walking to get anywhere. The food was ok. The beach wasn't. This is a property that we would never return to. We have been to others which were smaller and nicer.

Great Spring Break
AMAZING resort! Natural feel to it with lots trees, plants and wild life. Made walking around the resort so enjoyable and bring snorkeling gear because lots of fish to see just a swim away. Awesome food, at the buffet or restaurant. BBQ cooking up a storm at lunch, right on the beach. Plenty of spots to just relax, on the beach or the many pools. But you want to be entertained, there is always something going on. Use their app to know when and where. The grounds and the rooms are kept clean and the staff in general are very nice, friendly and helpful. Go see Silvino, Elmer, Ibanue, at the swim up pool bar for great drinks! GRACIAS A TODO
