Absolutely and Incredibly Perfect! Paradise!
My husband and I visited the Grand Wailea in Maui last week. We were celebrating my birthday as well as our 28th anniversary. We have been planning this trip for 28 years and I'll be honest, after all the terrible reviews, I was nervous. I live by Tripadvisor reviews and I was scared. With that said, I am completely BLOWN AWAY at how stunning this resort is! The staff was absolutely accommodating, super helpful and friendly, starting with Cathy at the front desk. My husband is a diamond Hilton member and without being asked, we were upgraded to an updated, absolutely stunning suite. It was not only beautiful, but clean and comfy. The views were breathtaking. The pools were so fun. The water was a comfortable temperature (this is important to me because I hate a cold pool). The slides and lazy river were fun! My favorite part was the grotto pool bar. It was fantastic and the food and drinks were very good. The restaurants were all amazing as well. My favorite one at the resort was Humuhumunukunukuapua'a. We were there for 5 nights and we really wish we could have stayed longer. I highly recommend! We went the first week of May and it was not crowded at all. Plenty of room at the beach and the pool and no problems at all getting chairs!

Avoid go some place cheaper or upgrade to the Four Seasons
Service is non existent, do not expect anyone to remember you or to help you with bookings or what to do. food was poor and extremely expensive. Hotel is more about gouging you then offering a good experience about the only thing good about staying here is that the Four Seasons is next door

Good for couples or families with friendly staff
We had a great experience on a romantic trip here but saw tons of families too! The pool area is amazing with tons of slides and area for different ages too. We have to give a shout out to Michelle at the front desk who was incredibly kind to us and waved at us for the rest of our visit. We were in the club rooms which had exceptional happy hours (e.g. crab and lobster tarts were served one day). Rooms were well updated with great tubs. Note that food and drink are pricey on property but there are some local markets a 5 min walk away. Appreciated that this was even recommended by staff and they weren’t snooty about trying to push you to on property amenities only.

Amazing hotel!! Needs more pool chairs
Family trip with kids age 5 and 8 during President's Day week. I was a little nervous about booking an expensive trip here after reading mixed reviews on Tripadvisor but we had an amazing time and I can't wait to go back. The pool is great! It really is like a water park and we had fun playing in the pool, taking the little waterslides to transfer between pools, and getting pina coladas in the grotto area. Also there were lots of kids from all over the country in the pool so my daughter made a bunch of friends. The beach is amazing!! I planned this trip after watching the White Lotus season 1 (shot next door at the Four Seasons) and had super high expectations for how beautiful Wailea would be and I was still blown away, the location is really special. If you've watched White Lotus, dinner at the Spago where they filmed a bunch of the White Lotus meal scenes is really fun. I have Hilton Diamond status and had some Hilton gift cards and Amex credits to use. The front desk was super efficient and capable at handling all my complicated billing requests and I was able to use all my gift cards and credits. Thank you front desk! We also got an upgrade to a nice view even though the hotel was sold out that week. The food credit for Hilton Diamond worked well at Loulu and the (super expensive! But very good) buffet. Service from hotel staff was excellent. I made a note in my phone that Rena, Lhen and Olivia were especially good, thank you!! Also the housekeeping staff was excellent. We did the whale watching canoe excursion through the hotel and enjoyed it. Also rented snorkels through Snorkel Bob nearby. Just walking along the beach at sunset is amazing too. Really a special place. A couple annoyances about the pool - the water elevator did not work during our whole trip, even though they'd always say "it will be working tomorrow at 12 pm." And there was no pool chair to be found during our stay. We went to the pool five days in a row and never got a chair, we'd just throw our stuff on the ground in the shade. It wasn't a huge deal but we were bummed we couldn't get food by the pool since we had nowhere to sit. I think Grand Wailea has the worst pool chair culture of any resort I've ever been to, there's got to be a better way.

Amazing and beautiful!
We have not left yet only day 3. I can honestly say that this resort and their staff have been absolutely amazing. I couldn’t ask for such a beautiful room and the grounds are breathtaking. Thank you Grand Wailea for taking such great care of us. We met folks at the bar that said they come every year for three weeks. I can see why. You had us at Aloha and Mahalo. Our anniversary trip has been perfect. We don’t want to leave! Mahalo. ❤️
