A fun property with formal dining areas by the lobby and a fun beachfront restaurant. Service overall was good.

Traveled to the Grotto Bay for a mini reunion with relatives from the UK. We had a lovely time. The hotel rooms are a little tired but having said that the two queen beds were super comfortable, the shower was great, the superior deluxe room view was lovely, room had a safe, buffet breakfast was great, and being amidst all the caves is super cool. The spa is underground in a cave which provides a very interesting backdrop during your treatment and is a one in a million experience. The massages were exceptional-well trained masseuses. Swimming in Cathedral cave is also very cool and exotic. This hotel is more affordable than many and so for that reason I do recommend it. However, you do feel it at times with lack of amenities in the room (one tiny soap bar and tiny hand lotion, no waters provided etc).Evenings had rotating entertainment-DJ disco night, sax player, historian which was nice but the placement between one of the dining rooms and the bar was a little odd. Overall, I would stay again and enjoyed my time.

    Never coming back. Terrible service.

Terrible experience. Super unprofessional. Ruined my trip. Within the first 2 hours of being them I severely regretted ever booking with them. Will never come back ever again.

Mixed experience- great service from some , disappointing from others

⭐️⭐️ (2 out of 5 stars) Booked our room 9 months In advance, upon check in we were told that room was not available due to full capacity, we were given another room & told nothing could be done. After 2 days we were given the room we had originally booked. We recently stayed at grotto bay resort & spa in Bermuda, and our experience was quite mixed. The bellhops , waiters & housekeeping staff were absolutely wonderful—friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to help. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable, and we truly appreciate their hard work and warm attitude. Unfortunately, our interactions with the front desk staff were very disappointing. They came across as rude and unwelcoming, which set a poor tone right from check-in. Simple questions were met with curt responses, and we felt more like an inconvenience than a guest. It’s a shame because the property itself has potential, and the service from the bellhops, wait staff & housekeeping really stood out in a positive way. However, the front desk experience left a lasting negative impression. A bit more professionalism and hospitality from the front staff would make a world of difference

    Perfect Beach Resort

My wife and I had a great time at Grotto Bay, despite being impacted by two hurricanes in a row! We would love to come back here, and bring the kids. The resort has a convenient location - close to the airport, and to St George's island, and most importantly overlooking the bay, where the water is much calmer than on most other beaches. This makes for a perfect beach on property complete with a minor shallow reef to snorkel at, and even a water sports / dive shop where you can lend the gear. We also rented a small motor boat from them (Blue Hole Water Sports) and explored other parts of the island that way - highly recommended! Dining was of good quality and the service was attentive and friendly. If you intend to spend most of the time, or get most of your meals at the resort, the all-inclusive package is really nice and has additional perks, such as bus&ferry pass, free kayak and snorkeling gear rental, etc. One of the main highlights of the resort are its caves (grottos giving it the name). Definitely check it out and consider plunging in the serene waters of one, which is free and open daily until 5pm (I wish they kept it open later). The other cave offers a unique setting for a spa. The main thing we felt was missing here was a selection of indoor activities on premises, which becomes more relevant in bad weather. A simple game room would already make a difference.

Highly Recommended, but some small issues....

Stayed 7 nights following the recommendation of a colleague. We paid a small extra fee to have a non ground floor room and ended up with fantastic views across the bay. It was clean, well appointed and the bathroom and shower all worked well. Would recommend the all inclusive package, it's not cheap but given the cost of eating out in Bermuda, it's actually quite good value and includes enough cocktails, wines and beers that your unlikely to have the same drink twice, unless you're going for a liver busting drinking record. Also, there's only a couple of eateries outside in walking distance. The All Inclusive package also includes a free bus and ferry pass. This is really handy and the bus stops are just outside the hotel grounds. The buses are very regular, clean, easy to use and air conditioned. The non motorised water equipment is included, we used a sea canoe and paddling around the bay is easy, safe and highly recommended. Also had a go at snorkeling. The hotel pool isn't huge and can imagine it would easily get very busy. On one afternoon, a couple of large families monopolised it, making it unpleasant for other guests. Fortunately the beach is lovely, sea warm, has a shallow run and teaming with sea life. It really is like swimming in a tropical fish tank. We swam in Cathedral Cave which is quite an experience and something everyone should do, but be careful on the steps. The Thursday night BBQ at the beach bar is fantastic, definitely only have a light lunch that day! The three piece band played a mix of music to suit all tastes. The entertainment on the other evenings was very limited and not very lively at all. We'd have loved the opportunity for a bit of a boogie, but it just wasn't there. It's a shame, as everything else about our stay was so good. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially a couple of the younger ones behind the reception desk. The only area for improvement was the lack of bar staff. At times they were clearly overwhelmed and having to deal with guests ordering bar snacks etc. Would we stay at Grotto Bay again? Absolutely! It was our first trip to Bermuda and hopefully not our last.
