  • House Without a Key

Immortalized in a 1925 Charlie Chan novel, House Without A Key is Halekulani's popular indoor/outdoor gathering spot for informal breakfast, lunch, cocktails, appetizers and entertainment, and offers a fresh option for evening dining in Waikiki. One of the favored traditions of the original Halekulani — cocktails and Hawaiian music under the century-old Kiawe tree — is faithfully preserved here.

As one of the best restaurants in Waikiki, House Without A Key is known for its signature mai tai, a classic to be enjoyed any time of the day.

  • La Mer
Dinner only. The only restaurant in Hawaii to receive the coveted AAA Five Diamond (Restaurant) Award, La Mer features Neoclassic French cuisine. With the ever-present sound of waves washing up on the shores of Waikiki, dining at the elegant ocean-side La Mer is an experience of superb taste and impeccable service. Long sleeved collared dress shirts or jackets are required for gentlemen.
  • L'Aperitif at La Mer

L’Aperitif at La Mer brings signature cocktails to our 5 Diamond Restaurant. The result is one of the best bars in Honolulu for a refined, elegant experience. Featuring distinctive cocktails created for Halekulani by globally acclaimed Chef du Bar, Colin Field, of the legendary Hemingway Bar in the Ritz Hotel Paris, these specialty offerings are meticulously presented with creative accompaniments.

L’Aperitif is located in La Mer, Halekulani’s award-winning fine dining restaurant, and is open nightly

  • Lewers Lounge
Unique among Waikiki bars, our hotel’s Honolulu lounge is the perfect place for early evening or after-dinner drinks. Lewers Lounge features contemporary and classic cocktails, tempting appetizers and desserts, and live entertainment. Head Barman Colin Field, long recognized as “Best Barman in the World” by Forbes has conceived several cocktails on the elegant Digestif menu exclusively for Halekulani.
  • Orchids

Orchids is Halekulani's casually elegant, oceanfront restaurant, and one of the top restaurants on Oahu serving breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as the best Sunday brunch Honolulu offers. When dining at Orchids, you experience an all-too-rare blend of taste and place, a restaurant in Hawaii that celebrates the flavors of the region, the hospitality of the locals, and the beauty of the surroundings.

Sunday Brunch is legendary and is called "Oahu's Best Brunch" by Honolulu Magazine.

    Incredible hotel

This is one of the best luxury hotels that I have ever experienced outside of Asia. Everything was perfect and I wish it was easier to get to Honolulu from the East coast. We had a studio suite with an ocean view. Room was very spacious and comfortable, air conditioning worked well and it was so easy to sleep in the bed. The bed gets an A++ for comfort. This hotel has a real mattress, not the foam ones that most hotels are using now. Bed linens were high quality cotton so you did not sweat and the blanket was the perfect weight. Concierge staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgable, especially Denise. We dined at Orchards and it was a great experience and the food and service were excellent. The breakfast buffet has something for everyone and runs smoothly. In Waikiki, this hotel is in a great location. You can easily walk to all the shops and restaurants and the main beach entrance is about a block away although you can also access the beach from the hotel, but that beach area is very narrow. The pool is beautiful and I did not see anyone fighting for chairs, but we were not there in the busy season. The level of service at this hotel is top notch. I hope to be able to return soon.

    Everything here is perfection

I keep returning to Halekulani (since 2004) for its welcoming staff, peaceful elegance, impeccable rooms and restaurants, stunning beauty, stellar service and more. It is an oasis of calm in Waikiki. Pure class. Everything is perfection so it can be tough to choose what I like best, but I suppose most of all it is the kindness of the employees, who I enjoy seeing again every visit. Many feel like friends. Such a sincere warm and welcoming atmosphere for all which is so rare to find. Appropriately, the name Halekulani is a combination of Hawaiian words (hale + ku + lani) meaning "House Befitting Heaven".

    Best Hotel on Waikiki

We returned a week ago from 8 days on Oahu, staying at the beautiful Halekulani. We have traveled many times to Oahu and have now stayed at every Waikīkī hotel, except the Outrigger Reef. Our stay was exceptional in every way. We had a 12th floor oceanfront room - and the view was amazing. The room was tastefully decorated in an understated way - not detracting from the outdoor beauty. They were many outlets for personal devices - there was also a plethora of different hangers and abundant storage space. After check in, we were provided a quick tour of the hotel and then escorted up to our room where we were provided information on its features, along with the in room tablet provided. The tablet can be used to request housekeeping services, turndown, in room dining, etc. We dined several times at House Without a Key and Orchids - both exceptional experiences. Nightly music at HWOK was lovely and added to the overall ambience of the property. We rested around the pool several days and the service there is also stellar. Forget the days of pool chair Olympics - you check in with pool staff and they will find you a location of your liking. You will not find hotel guests saving chairs - doesn’t work that way here. Shout out to Alfredo - kind and attentive without being too much. And every time I called downstairs with a request, the phone was answered on the first ring. Also, kudos to Concierge Benito for her research on a special request I had. Valet staff were always available and ready to help with my husband who often needs a wheelchair. The Halekulani was everything - and more - than expected. I could go on and on - but suffice it to say, if I’m lucky enough to visit Oahu again, the Halekulani will be the only place I stay.
