Memorable vacation!
Room: large room, partial ocean view, nice bathrooms with fresh towels daily, comfortable beds and lots of pillows. Food: all great restaurants. Zen had the best freshly prepared sushi and sashimi. Enjoyed all the other restaurants too and all the waiters were very nice and accommodating. *Service: we were royally treated by CHETAN and EDSON. They handled our reservations to shows, restaurants, pool side cabanas, and even pickleball courts. That was the highlight to have them take care of whatever we needed. Appreciate their dedication to making our trip memorable. Always looked forward to running into them with their smiles and hugs. Extra: did the sail boat excursion where there was snorkeling, lunch, saw whales, and they put up the sails on the way back. That’s an experience I’ll be talking about for awhile. Had a facial, body massage and hydrotherapy. All were wonderful. Looking forward to going back.

Relaxing Time at the Hard Rock
We had a great stay at the resort! Special thanks to Armando and Feliciano, our concierges, for taking care of our reservations, checking in frequently to make sure that our trip was extra special. We will definitely be visiting a Hard Rock Hotel again.

Exceptional Service and Family-Friendly Comfort at Hard Rock Cabo – With a Few Drawbacks
We just returned from a week at the Hard Rock Hotel in Cabo and, overall, it was a great experience. While there are a few reasons why this isn’t a 5-star hotel, the positives definitely outweighed the negatives—which I’ll explain below. Traveling with us were my wife, our two kids (a 12-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son), and myself. It’s important to mention that our family is unique—our son is non-ambulatory, blind, epileptic, and uses a G-tube to eat. He requires a wheelchair everywhere he goes, and all of his food must be blended. Since we knew this could be challenging, we brought our own blender so we could prepare his food easily without lugging around heavy prepared meals. First and foremost, the hotel staff is exceptional. From the food servers to the pool staff, entertainers, and housekeeping—everyone went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. I’ll give more kudos below, but it’s worth recognizing some standout individuals who made our trip truly memorable: A huge thank you to our buddy Henry (pool food supervisor), who was the sweetest and most attentive person. He sought us out daily to ensure that every restaurant and chef was aware of our son’s dietary needs. Chef Moises and Chef Eric were also incredibly thoughtful and gracious, pureeing anything we requested and making sure it was safe for our son to eat. This was, by far, our biggest challenge—and they made it effortless. We also want to thank Aaron (pool service), Giovani (Umo server), Usman (food supervisor), and Rueben, Santos, and Miguel (pool staff) for going out of their way to make life a little easier for us. Now for the things I was curious about before we went—and what you might want to know: Yes, everything really is included. All-inclusive means just that: every restaurant, room service, bar, and snack stand is free. Some restaurants offer a “Turn Up the Volume” section with 5–6 premium add-ons (like a tomahawk steak), but we found it totally unnecessary. Even at the steakhouse, Toro, you’ll find filets and ribeyes on the regular menu—and they were incredible. There are seven restaurants: Toro (steakhouse) Umo (Yucatecan cuisine) Zen (hibachi and sushi) Ciao (Italian) Pizzeto (poolside pizza) The Market (buffet-style) Los Gallos (Mexican) Cafetto (coffee bar with ice cream and premade sandwiches) We also ordered room service and ate poolside. Over seven days, we only repeated Ciao once because our daughter loved it. My wife’s favorite was Umo, and mine was Toro. I also loved starting the day at The Market, where you’ll find everything from omelets to vegan options and smoothies. Food quality was surprisingly high across the board. Only Zen requires a reservation; everything else is first come, first served. We dined around 6 p.m. nightly and never had to wait. Room Selection: After booking, you’ll get an email letting you pick your room online—and it’s not a gimmick! We got the exact one we chose: Room 4627, a Junior Suite on the 6th floor facing the main pool. The balcony has a cool jacuzzi tub, which the kids and I used every evening at sunset. The bathroom is huge but lacks privacy: the shower is open and the toilet stall has a frosted glass door. It includes two sinks and a large tub. Towels were easy to request via the front desk. Instead of key cards, you wear a bracelet that unlocks your door—super convenient. We requested a rollaway bed for our son, which they provided. Housekeeping cleaned our room daily as requested. Hotel Grounds: This place is massive. In addition to the restaurants, there’s a bowling alley, kids’ club, arcade, nightly theater shows, four gift shops, a spa, salon, escape rooms, and lots of lounge areas. It took a couple of days to get used to the layout, especially with pools on multiple floors. Pool Life: The main pool (Rhythm and Lyric) is where the action is—foam parties, dancing, and three water slides. Kids can play with balls here (not in other pools). Reasonable floats are allowed in all pools. We rented a cabana at the Eden pool on day one (nice but not necessary) and another at the Rhythm pool, which was perfect—it included a private bed and four chairs. If you want prime pool seating, claim it early. If you leave your stuff unattended for over an hour, staff will remove it. I appreciated this policy—it stops people from hogging seats all day. You can access every pool except the Legendary pool (unless you’re a member), but the Eden pool is nearly identical with its own infinity edge and ocean views. Note: pools aren’t heated, but they warm up as the day goes on. Tipping: Bring plenty of $1s and $5s. While not mandatory, tipping is greatly appreciated and improves service. We tipped at meals, for housekeeping, and for anyone who went out of their way. U.S. dollars are fine—no need for pesos unless you prefer. Avoid large bills, as change may not be available. Now for the negatives: Vacation Planners These folks aren’t hotel staff—they’re third-party contractors offering excursions and transportation. Prices are often inflated. For example, they quoted us $90 for a ride into town, while the bellhop arranged a private van for $44—same vehicle. You’ll find better deals at the marina by negotiating directly. Once the planners realize you’re not booking with them, they can become pushy and rude. I avoided them completely after the first interaction. Legendary Salespeople These are timeshare reps, though they’ll claim they’re not selling timeshares. After check-in, one will appear (wearing a gray shirt with an “L” logo) and introduce themselves as your “concierge.” That’s only true if you sign up for a package. Here’s the trick: use this moment to your advantage. Mention what you’re looking forward to—massages, Zen reservations, cabanas, etc.—and they’ll offer free perks in exchange for attending a 2-hour “tour.” We got an 80-minute couples massage and 50% off a cabana. Be warned: the tour is exhausting, like buying a car. They pitch you on packages ranging from $80K to $250K+. The “$160 annual fee” is just the membership cost—you still pay for travel. We declined the offer and still received the perks. My wife and daughter loved the massage, so the two-hour tour was worth it for us. No Ocean Swimming You can’t swim in the ocean here. The beach is beautiful but dangerous—black flags warn against entering the water due to strong tides. It’s a letdown if you’re into ocean swimming or snorkeling. This isn’t the hotel’s fault, but it’s something to be aware of. Wind and Temperature The hotel is in a breezy, cooler part of Cabo. Thankfully, we had sunny weather, so it wasn’t an issue, but I’ve heard it can feel chilly at times. Our trip was in mid-April 2025. Hot Tub Age Restrictions Kids under 16 aren’t allowed in the hot tubs. My daughter was disappointed and staff did enforce this rule. Not sure if it’s a hotel policy or local law. Final Thoughts: Yes, this was a long review! But I hope it helps. This hotel is truly special—mainly because of the incredible staff. The rooms and grounds are very clean and well-maintained. We had a fantastic week and would happily return for a wedding or group event. However, due to the beach limitations and frequent winds, we’d likely try a different all-inclusive next time. That said, we’re so grateful for the memories and are already looking forward to our next Mexican adventure!

Toro Restaurant and More
Absolutely incredible service from Manuel at Toro — truly a 12/10 experience. Better service than most high-end restaurants I’ve paid for. He went above and beyond from start to finish. The food and drinks were all delicious, but Manuel made the night unforgettable. Extremely highly recommended!

Best Wedding Experience
I just want to say we had the absolutely best experience at the Hard Rock in Cabo San Lucas. We got married and our entire 60 guests came with us to enjoy our special day. They catered to us every step of the way from the moment we arrived to sending us out the door. A special thanks to our amazing wedding coordinator Eddiana who went out of her way to make sure all the details were perfect. Another special thanks to concierge staff Sal and Laura that made sure if we needed anything at all they were right there! All the staff was able to get ahold of us through the WhatsApp and they were constantly messaging to check in on us. The vacation planners that set up our Cabo mar cruise. The pool staff for dealing with our craziness #reesewedding420. And our fantastic wedding planner Lindsay for the suggestion of Hard Rock. We loved our experience and it was the absolute best if anyone is ever considering a place for your wedding this is the place to be!!
