Don't recommend Big group wedding
I hosted a wedding at Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya in September 2024 and encountered several significant issues. The hotel was undergoing extensive renovations, resulting in many closed restaurants and common areas. Numerous guests reported problems in their rooms, including non-functional tubs, plumbing issues, and faulty door locks. Additionally, some restaurant staff were unhelpful and rude. The transportation services were poorly organized, leading to extra costs and alternative booking arrangements for some guests. Overall, the lack of communication and the numerous problems make Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya a less than ideal choice for a destination wedding, especially with a large group.

Disappointing, hard rock by name, 3* in nature. Dated and falling apart. No communication.
Hard rock by name, and that’s it. This hotel damages the reputation of the Hard Rock brand. Leaving 12 nights feeling disappointed. It’s currently undergoing some refurbishment and I’m sure by 2026 it’ll be up to the standard expected again. Let’s start the good: Food is some of the best I’ve had in all inclusive. The staff are attentive and friendly they’re not tip Hungry but a tip goes a long way. The “beach” is really nice and calm and not full off seaweed. Beds are super comfy, toiletries provided are great. Good buggies to get your from 1 side to the other also appreciated. Top shelf booze all included in the price (but always ask for the brand you want otherwise you get the basic local stuff) The bad: Communication is near non existent in here. After checking in we were told little. Where to get breakfast, what time etc etc. you’ll find restaurants are randomly closed there’s no way of knowing. And no way of knowing what places do lunch breakfast etc - we tried to use the website to buy places weren’t open when they should be. QR codes they supply don’t work. The TV’s are basic and hold no information / interaction. And there was nothing in the room. They’ll resort will reply and say use the app but this was also lacking basic information. About opening times Turns out we could use all the parts of the hotel included the bits that say for blocks 1&2 only )adults only section) but how were we to know. We only found out from the annoying legendary people; which brings me on. Sales reps (legendary team) trying to flog some form of membership are quite relentless. Ringing the room and getting me to the lobby under false pretences saying there was welcome present. The “water park” resembles something from a budget 2 star hotel you might find in the middle of nowhere with yellow tape around the kids pool. Slides taped off. The bar half demolished, and the kids slides taped off. Of the 6 slides 1 is open. Oh and green algae covering the floor. Had issues with the AC had to get maintenance out multiple times to fix. In end I just started tripping the fuse myself to “fix” it. The sky terrace rooms are under a giant canopy - so they’re kinda pointless. Our bath tub didn’t work had to call maintenance. The restaurants (market and Frida) are currently closed and being refurbished. This is heavy duty building work you can hear all day around the pool (thinks banging, drilling grinding, cutting etc etc) and also if you’re in block 8 you’re right next to the building work. Entertainment - you’d think being a hard rock would be good - nah. Ents here is nothing more than you’d get any other 3 star budget all Inclusive. The ents team do there there best, but the night shows are poor - that’s if you know what’s on as this seems to changes through the day, and if you can find out where it’s meant to be as they use multiple venues across the hotel. Overall: stay somewhere else till this place has had a makeover. The place feels run down, lights hanging off the walls, holes in the ceiling, just generally rough. It’s 100% not worth the money. Rooms are dated and run down. Our banister was hanging off the wall - and speaking to others there’s was the same. I’d only come back when overhauled or half the price. There is no love for the hotel from its owners.

Riviera Maya Hard Rock was an awesome experience!
We took this trip to celebrate a special event in our friend's life. Hard Rock Riviera did not disappoint. At every turn, we were treated like royalty. The staff was incredible, the food was on point. The facility was spotless (that is hard this time of year). The transportation to excursion were on time. The golf course was in perfect condition. Angel & Moises took such good care to make sure every detail was in place. Thank you for making Jill & I feel special. Amazing job by each and every one on staff. Thank you, again!

Felt like a DIVA!
The staff and butlers (Mauricio and Erika) were THE BEST! I felt like a diva - in a good way - the whole time! Rooms were super comfortable but I would bring ear plugs. Due to the acoustics and nature of the environment, it can be loud and hard to sleep late at night. Entertainment at the pools and at night was fun. All the servers catered to your every need at the pool, restaurants, spa, and more!
