    Never disappoints!

This was our second visit to Hard Rock Vallarta and again, it did not disappoint! Beautiful sunsets, relaxing walks along the beach, lounging in the pools for hours, never without a cold beverage in hand. The staff are all around super friendly and efficient - special shoutout to Gerry and Juan, who went the extra mile for us! A must stay for young families!

    Great meal, better service!

We enjoyed a great meal at Frida at Hard Rock Vallarta. Our waiter, Eleazar, took such good care of us and made sure every member of our party enjoyed our meal and the dining experience. The food was delicious and the churros for dessert were an extra treat. Can’t wait to return.

    Ipanema Grill

Ipanema Restaurant was great and Adrian Avalos, Adrian Trujillo, Daniel Arechiga, and Poncho provided excellent service there. The service at the resort in general is top notch as well!

Our favorite resort in all of Mexico!

Let me preface this review by saying that we have been staying at this resort numerous times over the past 10 years. I also need to admit that this visit we were in a Rock Suite two bedroom and enjoying Hall of Fame privileges. The previous times that we have stayed, we usually tried to book Rock Royalty because of the level of service, but the room was just an ordinary room, but on the top floor. That was great for us, but now that we are spoiled with the rock suite we can’t go back. Transportation The private transportation was very nice. Easy to find at the airport and they had cool washcloths and water ready for us. It was a very large brand new suburban with televisions advertising the resort. Check in/Check out This process is seamless because once you arrive the Bellman quickly take your bags and give you tickets and escort you up to the VIP check-in area which is a special room where you are the only guests checking in. It’s fast and easy. The Rooms We were staying in a two bedroom rock suite. The second bedroom of the rock suite is a normal double room with two beds and the dreaded Jacuzzi tub and a locking doorway that leads to the living room of the suite. The suite itself is awesome! It has a very large living room/dining room room with a table big enough to seat eight people. It has a kitchenette with a bar and its own bathroom. The main bedroom in the suite is very large with windows on two sides and a patio with loungers and a table and chairs. The bathroom has a nice walk-in closet with plenty of hanging closet room and drawers and a Jacuzzi tub for two and a very nice shower with a seat to ceiling window. Our room was on the side of the hotel that had a direct view of the resort next-door‘s entertainment stage. At night when both resorts had shows going it was a little annoying to have loud music from both resorts at the same time so sitting on the patio was a no go, Housekeeping was great. We had many different housekeepers, so can’t name them all, but Rosa was particularly good. We made sure to tip them well and they kept us clean and stocked with waters and drinks. The Pool This resort has 2 pools. There is a quieter pool by Frida, which also has a hot tub. The main pool has a children’s area that is separated from the activity by waterfalls. There were plenty of children there, but they we didn’t feel bothered by them. We were able to have loungers reserved for us in the legendary area of the main pool. The resort did not seem to be at capacity so they’re usually were chairs available around the pool. The entertainment staff were fun, inviting us to play games and do activities but weren’t too pushy when we didn’t want to. Brisa, Reed, Raymon/Kevin and Tamara were very active and had different activities for anyone to participate in. We really wish that they would have water volleyball every day instead of every other day! Nobody wanted to play the water basketball so that was a dud. The foam party one Saturday was great, but then the next Saturday there was no foam and it was a little boring but that might have been because the resort was not fully occupied. We remember years past when the parties used to be so much fun and they would have a canoe full of drinks floating around and lots of music and fun. Seems like Covid kind of changed that. The wait staff around the pool were attentive. We like to tip the servers and they really appreciate it. My favorite was Rolon. He helped us with some answers to trivia questions and brought drinks before we even realized we needed them. We brought biodegradable straws because Mudslides and Banana Mamas are hard to drink without a straw. The food available by the pool was very good. There are hot dogs and hamburgers as well as a buffet of chips and salsas and the best guacamole and ice cream in the Freida restaurant midday. The pizza shack was good and had good options for make your own personal sized pizzas. The Restaurants We enjoy the variety of food at the resort. Our favorites were Zen and Ciao. Claudia was our hostess a few times and was very pleasant. Victor at Ciao was great. We went every day to ciao for breakfast. Can’t beat that view! Love their mimosa bar. Lalo G, Antonio and Alvarez were our favorite waiters. Love the smoothies and the assortment of food there.. the crêpes were a little disappointing though. Extras We had a group of three butlers (Alex, Francisco and Uriel) and they were very attentive and checked in multiple times a day to see if we needed anything. They even brought me Dr Pepper! The massages at the beach tent in front of Unico were awesome and super affordable. In visits past, we have had massages at the spa and they were equally great but very very expensive. The legendary dinner was fun and the sushi was really good. They also hosted a legendary Pickleball tournament one day, and we were a little disappointed that there wasn’t very much participation and that the equipment was a little sad. The ball broke and there was no extra. The court is a little strange because it is small and fenced in oddly. We really appreciate being able to walk down to the mall and do our laundry halfway through the trip. They also have a little grocery store there to pick up extra sunscreen or food or drink that you can’t get at the resort. We were a little disappointed this year as two of our favorite long-t erm employees were gone. Canario and Orlando were our absolute favorites and we missed them! We will definitely be back, probably this year. We are also anxious to try Unico next-door.
