    Wonderful family break - amazing staff make the place

    Fantastic stay at the royalton negril. The hotel itself is nice and everything you would expect from a royalton property, however the staff are the ones that push this over the edge. Everyone from the baggage team to the restaurant workers and bar staff were all really friendly, helpful and polite. A special mention to our diamond club butlers Samantha and Patrice who went above and beyond to make us feel Welcome and looked after, nothing was ever any trouble for them and they always had the biggest smiles on their faces. Whilst we were on resort one of our children became quite ill and we needed to see the onsite nurse Rochelle and the call out the dr who prescribed some antibiotics for them and came back out to check a couple of days later when it looked as they had a reaction to the meds. Seeing your child I’ll anywhere is never nice but especially being so far from home, I’ll be forever grateful to nurse Rochelle and the dr for their help and kindness during this.

    Great People, Great Island.....OK Resort

    Great People in Jamaica!!! The Resort was nice and the beaches were always kept clean. ...The Food was ok but was the standard fare for a Caribbean resort, nothing really outstanding to speak of. I found the food was of a higher quality at the Royalton in Saint Lucia than here in Negril.....Although I went to St. Lucia before the pandemic so who knows now...I was disappointed that they didn't try harder to make more authentic Jamaican food. The Jerk Chicken at the Jerk hut was only OK. I had better Jerk Chicken at the Royalton in Saint Lucia than here at Royalton Negril. This Royalton has the some of the things that we enjoy; Coffee shops, decent food at the different a la carte restaurants. We didn't have much trouble getting into those al la carte restaurants for the most part. If you are having trouble, go to guest services and they will help you out. Zen Restaurant requires a reservation and you must book opposite the buffet entrance. We lined up at 8am and had to wait till 8:30 for the person to show up and book us in. If you get booked into building #6, I feel for you.....crazy bad for mosquito's and you don't get any sun!!! What's the point of a SWIM OUT room if you have to deal with insects and no sun???!!! The staff were hard at work and the rooms were kept clean for the most part, although the stocking of the bar fridge is poorly managed. I guess you can call to get them stocked but if your advertising fully stocked fridges then put some attention to it.. I enjoyed the little bit of snorkeling right off the beach near where "The hideaway" beach was with some rocky outcrops providing some fun snorkeling. Although the constant boat activity does hamper the experience since the props kick up sand and some boats don't appear to be watching for swimmers. I was not bothered much on the beach by the wandering beach vendors and when I said "NO" they were respectful of my answer and moved on.

    Another Terrible Royalton in Jamaica

    This was our worst resort and stay that we ever had. We already had a bad experience with Royalton Blue Waters back in 2018 when they refused to put us in another room due to our A/C not working and now this one was even worst. It began by them putting us in a dirty/unstocked room stating that it is ready and found out the A/C was out in the bedroom that night. Called Maintenance that same night and they did nothing and said it was fine only for Manintenance to come right back the next morning and say it was broke and he couldn't fix it. We had to notify our butlers numerous of times with very slow responds until we requested a room change. The new room also had issues including A/C which they worked on until the very last night. The services and rooms were terrible espescially for the $ spent as we were Diamond Club. I would not recommend this resort to nobody. Very poor service and food and poor training. As part of a wedding party, there definitley should have been more done and way more organized. Hell even the wedding didn't start on time because they didn't have everything setup and ready. Also other members had issues with their rooms and had to constantly complain just to get resolution. This is also a very old resort so DO NOT go off the pictures on their website as it is not accurate. We travel a lot and love Jamaica but this was the worst resort in Jamaica and the worst resort that we had ever been to. Not to mention a very poor beach with constant traffic walking up and down and disturbing you every 15 minutes. We came back worst than we left as we couldn't even enjoy ourselves because we knew we wasn't going to get any sleep in a hot ass room. So we woke up each day drained and worst than the previous day. If it wasn't for my cousin wedding, we would have left on Day 1.

    Not a 5 star resort, 4 star at best

    While there are a few elements of this resort that met our expectations of a 5 star, luxury resort, they were few and far between the elements that make up this review. We were a party of six adults travelling together and celebrating two birthdays. Despite emailing the hotel prior to arrival, mentioning it at checkin and again mid week to customer service, nothing special was done for our birthday guests. After a two hour bus trip from the MBJ airport, we had another 2 hour wait for our rooms. We went to the sports bar to pass the time which is right off the lobby. We waited forever for service and ended up having to get up from our table to go and ask for drinks and food (only Red Stripe and Red stripe light are served at this resort). When we finally got to our rooms, all three of them were in need of something. Some didn't have towels, some no water in mini bar, no soap or toiletries. Despite bringing this to the attention of the housekeeping, front desk and customer service, they were never fully addressed throughout the week. Housekeeping is in desperate need of consistency, a checklist for each room for the basics and a sense of urgency when reasonable requests are made. Our room had a broken balcony door & screen, broken hairdryer, broken tub, sticky bathroom door and closet. Tiles missing in the water closet and a musty smell. The beach area is long and easily walkable, the weather was great and the ocean was lovely. Food was good at almost every restaurant with the exception of the Italian restaurant which was not very good. The buffet is very nice and has excellent selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner. In summary, if a resort claims to be a 5 star, luxury experience, there are some bare minimums that need to be met to make the guest feel like they are enjoying this type of experience. This Royalton property falls quite short of that and should be rated a 4 star at best. Resort shows wear and tear, service is poor in general, towels were never available when they should be (both in the room and at the towel stand) and tipping is quite expected if you want anything better than mediocre service.

    Beautiful day

    Garrison was brilliant & fabulous during aquafit, he was energetic and made the session fun. I was watching and felt like joining the class when I saw how amazing it was, everyone was smiling throughout the class. Recommend doing this class during your stay.
