  Royalton-Diamond Club

  I can truly say that the experience was great due to The Diamond Club amenities. Cesar, our butler was beyond amazing. We had 2 rooms with king beds.We asked to be moved to rooms with double beds so they accommodated us the next day. Unfortunately after examining the beds for bedbugs(as we always do when we travel), the dreadful thing happened…there were bedbugs in both rooms😩 At this point I want to go home but they convinced us that they would fix it. They moved us again and after examining those mattresses, it was clear, they need to replace the mattresses because under the mattresses, it was digusting, no visible signs of them but judging by the looks of the mattresses in both rooms they were probably. Through it all, they were really trying to resolve it but I remained uneasy. I still commend our butler, Cesar for his support and assistance. It could really be a great property but it needs some updates/upgrades. It definitely wasn’t the cleanest. A lot of misses in the area of cleanliness. I have stayed at several Royalton’s in other countries and was never disappointed in the area of cleanliness. REPLACE THE MATTRESSES please. I am still freaking out about those bedbugs.

  Great Resort for price

  Went to Cancun for our 30th Anniversary and had a great time. The staff was unbelievably kind and helpful. We had upgraded to the Diamond Club and was given 2 butler's who went out of their way to make sure everything was great. Thank you too them Cesar and Diego! They had a good choice of restaurants. The sports bar was underwhelming not a fun atmosphere. The Hibachi (Elia was awesome waitress) and Indian were our top 2 favorites. Caribbean was good with great service. Italian, I didn't care for the lasagna but Francisco gave us great service! The Steak house was good. I was expecting more from the Armidillo tex mex it was ok, service was lacking there. Other members of staff was JC who always offered a friendly smile and good morning. Favorite bartender was Luis in the Diamond bar by the casino. What Diamond bars you could go to was a little confusing. Would definetly go there again. The areas for the kids was nice and plenty for them to do.

  Nice resort…recommend Diamond club

  Resort is very nice. Could have rooms in Diamond Club that are better view of the ocean. Most restaurants are very good selection of food except the Caribbean Seafood restaurant. Poor selection and not very good at all. Butler service in Diamond club was excellent service from Daniel. Thank you Daniel. Highly recommend him.

  Honeymoon at Royalton Hideaway

  We went to Royalton Hideaway for our honeymoon. We had a great time and the staff made it all that much better. Our butlers, Rangel and Jocelyn, were awesome! They made our stay feel so special. They decorated our room for our honeymoon and gave us a nice bottle of wine! They were both incredibly helpful with booking restaurant reservations and any excursions we wanted. I’m not sure our stay would have been the same without their help! When we come back, I hope we can request them again! We enjoyed the pools and drinks, our favorite bar tender Josefat was so much fun!

  The ROYALTON RIVIERA Cancun Nothing Special

  Triple AAA has the Royalton Riviera rated as a "Diamond" Hotel and I have been to many "Diamond" rated hotels in Mexico, and to me, this is not one of them. PROS: The Staff are excecptional, polite and professional and very attentive, I would say the "Staff" meet Diamond Level service. The Rooms: The are sleek, mondern and luxurious and meet Diamond Level Luxury. The Hotel Grounds: Nicely landscaped like a Tropical Paradise and Beachfront. The Pools and Swim Up Bar: Very beautiful, big, clean and lots of lounge chairs. CONS: The Location: Although the Hotel is 20 minutes ( in good traffic) from the Airport, once you are there, you are stuck, it is a bit off the beaten path. Its not like you can walk across the street to a Walmart or OXXO. You will need to take a Taxi or an Uber to get off the resort. The Restaurants: With the exception of The Hunter Steakhouse, most of the a la carte offerings were very mediocre and 3 star food at best, even though the ambience was quite nice. The Food at this Hotel, and especially the Bufett ( 2 Stars) was nowhere near "Diamond" Level quality. The Beverages: The Beer was domestic, no Heineken, Stella or high end offerings and for Liquor no Absolute or Grey Goose Vodka and these sort of brands are offered at True Diamond Hotels, with NO upcharge. The Entertainment: While some of the Entertainment was very good, there were Not enough Live Bands and Karaoke was only once a week. The Crowd: Some very nice people, however keep in mind this is "Not" an Adults Only resort and at times the "Kids screaming through the Hallways" was loud. No Bottled Water: That is correct, NO Bottled water in the rooms, and I have never been in a Diamond Hotel that does not have Bottled Water in the rooms. Even 3 star Hotels provide Bottled Water in the room. At this Hotel, you have to take these reusable containers in the fridge and go down the hallway and fill them up via the Hotel Water system and bring them back to your room. Not sure about the Hygiene aspect of this sort of thing. I mean who used the bottles before me ? THE BOTTOM LINE: I cannot believe Triple AAA has this rated as a "Diamond" Property. On the "PROS" I mentioned it is, but with all the CONS, not a chance. The hotel is not bad, it is probably good, but nothing special. If you want across the board consistent luxury in all aspects, you will not get it here. You could, if the Hotel would fix the Cons.
