  Not the best for luxury

  Really nice hotel however few things to consider. Very far away from civilization can be isolating and using taxis are very expensive. If you adventuros this hotel may not be for you. Get hassled alot by photographers & others trying to earn commisson even whist ur try to relax in the pool. You cant withdraw money without being charged 60 us dollors a time so make sure you have enough before you travel here. Entertainment is not every good. Make sure you take mosquito repellant as they are rife in cancun you will be bitten can ruien your holiday. They love americans mostly win most of the prizes from activitys. Hotel pros Food is fab Hotel staff are friendly Rooms are lovely Rooms service good However i feel its over priced for what it is. So if you like to relax and not do much this is for you but be aware you wont peace unless its in your room.

  Great (Wedding) Stay

  We had our wedding at Royalton and our guests stayed on the Hideaway (adults-only) side. Everyone was very happy with their rooms, amenities, etc. Staff was wonderful, kind. The resort was clean, and continuously cleaned throughout our stay. We had Diamond Club access, as well as two butlers (Alberto and Rodrigo) whom were very helpful. My on-site wedding coordinator, Gabriela, was fantastic. I'd been to the resort before, but didn't realize how much (more) there was to do. We had a great time, and will likely return again!

  Royalton exceeded our expectations.

  This resort exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff were all courteous, kind, and helpful. The food was amazing and so many restaurants to choose from. There was something for everyone, with activities and so many different pool areas to enjoy. Our favorite area to relax was the diamond club pool area. Juan and Valerio took excellent care of us everyday. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a beautiful view. The butler service was an added perk, as Gina and Oscar made our stay even more wonderful. To start our day with a text asking “how can I pamper you today?” was the added touch to make our vacation even more relaxing. The resort is close to the airport making our transit quick and easy. The resort was so clean and there were always staff working to keep it looking beautiful. There were areas for kids and families and areas designated for adults only, so it could be as loud or a quiet as you wanted it to be. Other staff that deserve a big “Thank you” for making our trip so memorable are Ana, Javier, Oswaldo and Susan. We can’t wait to go back!

  Great Hotel!

  Just back from a great week! Check in was quite slow but I think it was bad luck as we arrived behind a big group. Our room was in great condition and well appointed. The fridge had two glass bottles which we had to fill ourselves from a filling station. For this type of hotel, it would have been nice for them to be filled for us. Room service was excellent. We pre-ordered breakfast the night before and it always arrived on time or early. We were able to book most restaurants and didn't have a long wait at the walk-ins. Food was good, especially buffet! Beach and pools were nice and lots of available loungers. All staff were very friendly and helpful. The photographers/spa staff are a bit too insistent on selling their products though. The night time entertainment was a little lacking also. The one major negative was our experience with a Nexus excursion. We booked a half day snorkel boating trip. The day of was bad weather (thunder, lightning, rain etc). We asked before we left the hotel and were told it will change, trip is not cancelled. We asked at the marina and were told the same. They said it was fine to go on the boat, the weather will change. The boat staff seemed very reluctant to go but took us out anyway. We were only about 5 min from the marina. The guide got in the water and said it's very cloudy, this is probably pointless. We went in anyway and of course did not see anything. The captain said he would move to another spot and about 30 seconds later said weather was too bad and we must go back. We then sat at the marina for over an hour waiting for a pick up. We talked to the Nexus rep at the hotel who absolutely could not have cared less! She said "well you went snorkeling didn't you?" It completely felt like they did everything to get us onto the boat so they can claim they filled their part then immediately took us back because it was actually a dangerous situation. We felt completely ripped off and taken advantage of. It was a horrible experience. We will not use Nexus for anything in the future.

  1st Time at the Royalton Riviera Cancun

  It was an experience from entering this hotel to leaving. We went knowing that we would not be stepping outside the hotel when we arrived. As this was our 4th visit to Mexico and all the trips had been done before and therefore we knew we would be just chilling. We had booked a junior suite, but that meant we would be near the children’s area and therefore upgraded to the Diamond Cub and was worth every penny. We were given a room that had uninterrupted views of the sea and an added balcony upstairs with a hot tub. The Diamond Club membership came with a butler service and both our butlers Nassar and Ivan were brilliant. The pool area was great for a chilled atmosphere, no one shouting or screaming. Javier the swim up bar tender was brilliant, in fact all the staff around the pool were excellent. Restaurants and buffet very good, did not have one disappointing meal or drink. Although we did have 3 very loud American girls on the Tappenyaki one night. We would definitely come back to this hotel
