  Not worth the money

  Beautiful resort, lovely staff. We are still here. Paid full season price but half the bars are closed. Biggest complaint is on arrival we were charged an extra $3,000 to have a room with a double bed! We had already paid $6,500!! Long story, still in dispute but beware when booking! Food not great. IMO you’re paying a lot of money for mediocre service. Don’t bother with Diamond Club. Pool tucked away in a corner, away from anywhere. Room service v limited and don’t deliver any beverages from 11pm. Even in Diamond Club. The 3k not requested or wanted ‘upgrade’ came with a ‘butler’ which apart from booking some dinner reservations were not sure what to do with! Just our current experience.

  Hideaway

  This resort is absolutely perfect! The staff went out of their way to provide exceptional service. They truly made all the difference in our experience. The excursion options are incredible. The food options are great and the quality is wonderful. We are already looking at when we can return. Should out to Travis from the Vibe Team, as well as Travis and Sylvanie for taking such great care of us. 100% recommend this resort!

  Great holiday in the sunshine, with some patches of rain.

  We’ve just returned from our third visit to the Hideaway at Royalton and have mixed feelings about this year’s visit. The staff are fantastic all round, a very special mention goes to our butlers Darnell and Garvin - you were both truly amazing and really made our visit special as always; also to Anastasie, Brendan and the two ladies working at the Hideaway swim up bar - you’re all absolute legends in our opinion! The à la carte restaurants are all great, especially the Dorado where we had breakfast each morning and dinner on a few evenings; such a variety and always great. The only let down was the Zen à la carte, this is walk-in only so we took a gamble which unfortunately did not pay off; we waited 45 minutes in a queue only to be told we couldn’t be seated for another 30 minutes. A big improvement here would be an option to actually book a table so guests aren’t let down, because by this point we were unable to get seated elsewhere. The pool itself at the Hideaway was our biggest letdown. It is supposed to be infinitely but for our entire visit this was not the case; as a result, with each day it started to get dirty very quickly and marked up 2 of my bikinis. I mentioned this to staff and was either told ‘we make improvements this time of year ready for our main season’ or ‘it will be sorted tomorrow’, this wasn’t our experience from previous visits and was quite disappointing. We get that there are other options in regard to pools but we booked this part of the hotel for a reason. In the end we spent a lot of our time at the Dips pool where it was quite peaceful but the lack of cushions did make this quite uncomfortable after a while. With all this said though, we are not discouraged from returning as we truly do love it here and have made nice connections with lots of the staff; we can see that the hotel is clearly under refurbishment and look forward to seeing what it is like when it’s all finished.

  The Pitons

  Couldn't have asked for a better experience. CONS: •BEACH CHAIR CUSHIONS- There must be a better system put in place for staff to replace the the wet, mildewed beach chair cushions left on the chairs after occasional pop up rain storms. Me and my partner had to constantly play musical chairs with beach chair cushions trying to find the cleanest, unoccupied cushion from anywhere on the beach to place on the chairs where we wanted to sit. Such a beautiful resort but this is an issue that must be addressed for the amount of money one pays to stay at this resort. Staff was clearly better at cleaning up seaweed that accumulated on the beach one day than replacing clean cushions. •UPON ARRIVAL GOVERNMENT TAX- Be aware as this $6 per person per night tax was sprung upon us upon checking in. •ROOM BOOKED UPGRADE- Who wouldn't want an upgrade?! Our initial booking was with 1 King sized bed. Upon arrival we were told they overbooked so we were getting upgraded to an ocean view room. What they failed to inform us as a couple was that the upgraded room has 2 full sized beds. We had to find out ourselves upon entering the room. At that point we were tired from our flight and the 90 minute almost 2 hour drive to the resort from the airport that we chose to keep that room. Besides, we were content with the rest of the room and the view. Naturally, we would have preferred to have been made aware of this by the person checking us in prior to room entry. •ROOM SERVICE- I don't know if we just had bad luck the first day we checked in and ordered room service that evening but it was a loooooong wait. About a 1.5 hour wait for our food to arrive. We ordered 11:30pm. Just when we were about to call to cancel the service the room phone rings with staff apologizing for the wait and informing us our food is on the way. That was another 20 minute wait. Our order arrived around 1:30am. UPSTAIRS BAR- Could use more entertainment. So once all the shows and concerts and such are done at the resort which typically end around 10/11pm they suggest going upstairs to the bar where the party continues. While the DJ there plays great music, there's typically not many people there. They have 1 pool table, a dartboard with no darts (all the darts were lost, missing, or damaged), and 1 air hockey table. The resort might want to add another pool table since the 1 was frequently occupied and you've gotta wait your turn to play. Pros: •STAFF- Phenomenal. Everyone from reception staff, housekeeping staff, restaurant staff, hotel manager, to bar staffs were extraordinarily welcoming and friendly. Regardless of where we were or went staff displayed a uniformed approach to greetings such as good morning, good evening and stopped to patiently respond to any questions and inquiries we had. Shout out to reception staff such as Maria who had one of the most pleasant, positive, humorous dispositions. •ENTERTAINMENT/ACTIVITIES- The resort has a menu of concerts, shows and events happening daily and nightly. The Michael Jackson show was great. The All White Party was entertaining. We went to the very cultural and popular weekly Friday night Street party which was a jam packed lively music block party. ACTIVITIES- I am into fitness and assess what hotels and resorts label their version of a gym. The gym at Royalton was top notch! Spacious, clean, friendly staff, all the equipment one could possibly need to get in a good workout while away from home. •EXCURSIONS- We chose the speedboat, Piton Mountains excursion. I highly recommend this excursion. The best decision we made with excursion entertainment. Shout out to the boat staff and host on the boat Mr. JR! The excursion itself was fantastic and the staff made it even more phenomenal! •FOOD- From several restaurants to choose from we went to almost a different one nightly. Booking within the time frame is paramount to get these reservations. The food was great at most restaurants including the buffet. We weren't ecstatic about the food at the steak house but the Italian restaurant, Grazie Italiana and the Caribbean restaurant called "Calypso" were our favorites. The experience at the hibachi restaurant was also fantastic. •BEACH- Besides the beach chair cushions issue the beach itself is Ahhhhhhhh blissful. The sand is rejuvenating to the toes, the water is calm and warm with an occasional beautiful aquatic life happening around you. And the views to the side of the mountains with a house or 2 plucked into the center of them brings optical pleasure. Overall, the pros far outweighed the cons at the Hideaway in Saint Lucia. What a beautiful country and its extraordinary, mountainous landscapes with plush jungles filled with trees, plantation along the way enroute to the resort. The Hideaway is indeed a Hideaway tucked away in the country away from home. I highly recommend visiting this resort. I celebrated my birthday here from 8/18-8/24, and had a fantastic time. I would definitely go to this resort again in the future. To all, safe travels!

  BEWARE OF THEFT

  Please be careful if you stay at this resort. Stayed here for a family wedding and had my phone stolen by a staff member. Tried to report it and was received with the nastiest service. This entire stay was disgusting. The staff members are nasty and customer service was beyond poor. Was there from August 13-17. When I got back to the states someone from St Lucia contacted my family asking them to unlock my phone because they bought it off WhatsApp from someone. I got in touch with customer service about this situation and they claimed I have to provide the information when I sent the text message and all the information they were asking for they stopped emailing me. Avoid this resort if you can.
