Jan 07, 2025Nice but not trouble-free
Good: Nice view from higher floors. Location close to a big shopping mall. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. Got upgraded to a nicer room after some issues (see below). Bad: Room maintenance issues- our bathroom door lock was broken and one of us got locked in, we had to have it broken open from outside... Also, I was told (after calling to ask) that the room deposit would take 10-15 days after check-out to get returned, which is longer then I have experienced anywhere else. Some other small things, e.g. the bathtub plug was missing in our first room, and after getting the room changed, they forgot to set up the sofa bed, which we had requested in advance. (They did set it up after two calls.) Overall: It's a nice hotel, but given the issues, I would hesitate to recommend without reservations. I hope they return the deposit soon.

Jan 01, 2025Comfortable room with a good view of Barcelona and a great gym
As diamond members we had a room upgrade and selected a corner room on the top floor. A good view of the city and the sea. My wife particularly like the large tub from which there was a view of the city. Snack food in the executive lounge was good as was breakfast in the dining room. The gym is one of the better hotel gyms. Equipment is by Precor and they even had a leg press, which is uncommon, amongst their equipment.

A lovely city and beach getaway!
I visited Hilton Diagonal Mar previously (10 years ago) and this time around I was so impressed with how modern and stylish it has become. We went for my husband’s surprise birthday trip and the staff at Hilton really helped me pull it together. A big thank you to Noor who made sure our room was beautifully decorated, she also went above and beyond contacting the bakery in Barcelona to assist me in arranging the delivery of the cake I’d ordered to the hotel and set it up for me. We stayed in a King Sea View Room which was beautiful on the 16th floor. I would recommend the sea view rooms. The only thing would be if it had an inside pool or spa area so guests could swim all year round but this wasn’t really an issue for us. The breakfast has a good selection and was very quiet maybe due to the time of year we visited. Across the road you have Diagonal Mar shopping centre with a plethora of restaurants and shops and it is easy to get cabs also. You also have the beach a short walk away so it’s the ideal location. Thank you Hilton for such a lovely stay.

Loved it: the team, the room, the breakfast - all perfect!
A 4-night long weekend at Hilton Diagonal Mar - all perfect: fantastic check-in on a late Wednesday evening, fantastic room (#1717), perfect breakfast and a lovely team at reception, breakfast and housekeeping. Some hiccups at first (lifts not functioning properly, kettle not working in the room) but they sorted everything out in a professional manner. Love the location outside the hustle & bustle of central Barcelona next to the Diagonal Mar Shopping Mall, we had great walks in brilliant sunshine along the beach promenade and found some nice cafés on the side streets, and the lovely Poblenou street and another shopping mall are within 30 min walk - it is all there so we didn't bother to go to central Barcelona at all; have experienced central Barcelona on previous visits. When you go to Barcelona for the first time, this may not be the area for you, but if you like long walks along the beach promenade and don't mind staying slightly outside, just go for it!

If you are looking for an old fashioned room without heating in the room and without hot water in the bathroom, this hotel is for you ! The quality of the breakfast is also very poor and an elevator was out of order which makes very long time to go to your room.
