Great hotel. Beautiful new lobby! Comfortable rooms and wonderful staff. Special thank you to David, a server in the Executive Lounge. David made our stay the best. Always available for special requests and anticipated needs. Emily is to be commend for her excellent staff.

Scottish Hospitality Outstanding with Enchanting and Excellent Location!
Coming from Texas and not knowing a thing about the area or what to do but we won the Lottery staying at the Hilton Carlton on Northbridge Road. Enchanting and historical exterior , yet the rooms were exceptional. Feels like a brand new hotel with beautiful rooms and full restaurant and bar. Alina, Reception Manager, was so polite and the highest level of that Scottish Service was overboard. Felt we were at the Ritz. Welcome letter and recognized as it was our 45 th anniversary. Mark waited on us in the restaurant and made us feel like a regular guest and old friends. The food options in the restaurant were really local options giving us that Scottish experience we were hoping for. Order the Cullen Skink Soup from the Highlands. The hotel location is steps from the train station as we could see it from our room. The location on the North Street Bring between Princess Street and Royal Mile set us a block from the famous Christmas market and a 10 min walk to the Castle as well as 5 mins to get a ride on the Ferris wheel Ride at the Christmas market. Staff far exceeded our expectations and we even met the General Manager as he was taking care of guests personally this morning in the Lobby. I love that hands on personal experience. Anyone coming to Edinburgh “Scotland” will have an enchanted experience that includes real local hospitality.

Nov 26, 2025Nice location - but the noise and vibration is unbearable
The positives. Nice location. But what the hell is the extremely loud and consistent low humming noise. The room vibrates, and it is so intense that the pictures on the walls rattle. I would absolutely NEVER stay here again. I am actually shocked they would have any repeat customers.

Great location near the station, Royal Mile and Princes Street. Room ok although not the biggest and not the cheapest but that’s Edinburgh. Great staff, good breakfast but not sure why they still bother with the exec lounge. It used to be upstairs with a decent food spread in the evening. It’s now in the basement with very limited food but good selection of drinks in the evening.

Just checked into room 429 and the room has a moldy odor and the view is to die for. Would have been nice if they had informed us that the hotel was a building site. Not quite what we were expecting for 300 pounds per night,
