As a Hilton Lifetime Diamond Member, we have stayed at Hiltons across the globe. The Hilton Hawaiian Village is a beautiful property with lovely rooms, speculates views, delicious restaurants and bars, weekly fireworks and lots of shopping. It’s a quick walk along the beach to downtown Waikiki. We have visited the Hilton Hawaiian Village over 50 times in the past 30 years. What makes this property exceptional is the staff. From the moment we checked in, Jacque and her front desk staff (Amy and Ryan) created a perfect experience. They exude the aloha spirit. Another perfect vacation in Hawaii!

Jul 09, 2025Poor Air Conditioning
The air conditioning is beyond inadequate. Four times maintenance was called. I was told to keep my curtains closed during the day because the unit was working right, it just couldn't cool the room below 72- and that was only at night. During the day.... it was 78 degrees. The unit ran continuously, set at 65 degrees. I paid for an upgraded ocean view room with 2 slider doors and I'm told to close the curtains to the view to help the unit out by blocking the sun/heat. The issue is the room only has one vent. When I went to the desk the 3rd time at 6am because I spent another restless night sweating I asked for a new room and was told to hold off that they'd be speaking to the head of whatever dept and they'd have their best hvac employee look at it. That same day at 6pm I returned to the desk and asked what was going on and showed an image of the thermostat reading 78 degrees again. The follow up was that I could speak to maintenance again and they'd explain the unit was working as it should, it just wasn't enough. After that they'd try to accommodate with a new room but the issue was still going to be the same. Absolutely the worst time I have ever spent at any hotel, ever. Sleeping comfortably is part of the vacation experience - down comforters on the bed but room gets up to 78 degrees? Needless to say, I was cranky and tired every day from lack of comfortable sleep.

It is a Village, people! :D
This amazing hotel isn't just one building! There are multiple options! We were in the Tapa Tower, which was newly renovated. The hotel was roomy, clean, and very comfortable! The major downside is that the ice machine was located right outside our room, and people would often get ice at inopportune times, which would wake us up frequently. The resort had two ABC stores and two Starbucks in prime locations with plenty of pools, bars, restaurants, and activities available!

4th of July Weekend 2025
Xiao Lu was our Housekeeper and she was so sweet and attentive to our needs. She watched when we left and cleaned the room. We were so pleased with her services. The Hotel and complex HHV was busy but live music, restaurants, were all staffed. Things went smoothly over a busy weekend. We had a great 3-day weekend staycation. Definitely will be back again.

Terrible experience- Got an Oceanfront room but couldnt stay in the room because people were smoking all around us
The hotel is in a beautiful location but that is where the good part of the review stops. The room we paid for was in the rainbow tower and we got a oceanfront room with a view of diamond head- Room number 1703 It is supposed to be non smoking but that was not true- There was smoke from people around the room smoking all day and night. I put in a room request within 1 hour of getting to the room but the guest service from Hilton giggled and said that we got a good room. After maybe 5 or 6 more calls asking them for help and a series of text messages that they were texting me - nothing worked to solve the issue. They told me they could change my room when I was leaving within 12 hours of checkout. It was such a bad experience,
