- Other Local AttractionsCozumel is rich in history and natural wonders. Popular destinations include ancient Mayan temples on the north side of the Island; the sanctuary to Ix- Chel -the fertility goddess- in San Gervasio and the Museum of the Island of Cozumel, with its colorful displays of underwater reefs and other Island treasures. At El Cedral, on the south side of the Island, the oldest Maya structure on Cozumel built in A.D. 800 can be found. Nearby a towering lighthouse at Punta Sur offers a 360-degree view of the Island.
Cozumel is habitat to many nature reserves: the Cozumel Marine Reef National Park, Chankanaab Park and Lagoon, and Punta Sur. Botanical gardens at Chankanaab Park display 350 different types of tropical plants from more than 20 countries. Another attraction is the dolphin aquarium, treating visitors to a close-encounter with playful dolphins. Punta Sur is a new eco-tourist park for visitors interested in learning about the Island's native flora and fauna. Encircling a region known as Colombia Lagoon, Punta Sur is a unique setting of mangrove jungles, white sandy beaches and reef formations. The Park's information center allows visitors to watch a 20-minute video and learn about different eco-systems, environment and native birds, turtles, alligators, fish and coral in the Park. At the information center, visitors can rent electric bikes to explore Punta Sur on their own.

Good value for the price
Great value for the price. Small quite resort. Breakfast was good and limited lunch menu at pool was good. But buffet for lunch and supper not good, we went out to eat for supper most of time.Specialty dinner always full, we able to get 1 time it was set up on beach and was beautiful but service was awful and food was ok . Mashed potatoes were very sweet As was gravy--weird. So very limited food options but you can always find something to eat. Drinks are good, if you are all inclusive you can have better alcohol such as Bacardi etc. Snorkeling was very good right off beach area by hotel, we never had to leave to go snorkel, lots of fish and a small sheltered cove make getting in and out easy. Close to stores and downtown, easy short walk Lots of chairs available at pool and beach , which is nice change from other resorts where people hog the chairs. Best part is hammock in room!!! My favorite place to relax!

Great aside from the food
We greatly enjoyed our experience at Cozumel Hotel and Resort. All staff was kind and courteous and were available to help should we had any questions. Javier, one of the staff was kind and very helpful while assisting in the pool Side snack area. He tended to our table in a timely manner and with a smile. The food was disappointing, as we have been coming here the past two years and the food has continued to worsen in quality. We appreciate the all inclusive but wish there was more Mexican style food. We enjoyed the days when they provided tortillas, ceviche and vegetables. The location was ideal because we could rent the bikes and ride into town, which had cute shops and a Starbucks. The rooms were nice, but we had a roll in shower and the bathroom often ended up with a really wet floor. We often had to use towels to create a makeshift dam to prevent water flooding the bathroom.

Great time as usual. Beach side is wonderful.
I have been to this hotel about 12 times over the years with my family. Every time I have rated it as Excellent, a 5 out of five. This is a great simple hotel that is very affordable and perfect for scuba divers. The food is basic, but good and the place is very clean with friendly workers as usual. The reason I only rated it as Good for the first time was the issue of the special evening dining offered on Mon, Wed, and Sat, which can only be attended if you get on a reservation list. My extended family of 16 people were not allowed to attend any of those specialty dinners because they were already fully booked for the week before we even checked -in. The only day offered was the Monday which we were checking out. It was fully booked before we had a chance to reserve a spot. Either offer the special to everyone, or don't offer it at all. Secondly, I wish you would go back to the former practice at poolside to offer a simple buffet with the option of chicken , fish or beef freshly grilled as requested. The sit-down waitress service takes way too long to get the food and the seating is limited. I noticed there are much fewer servers and workers, which is now common among all hotels and services. They work very hard but could use some additional helpers in my opinion.

A Relaxing Stay with Wonderful Entertainment and Kind Staff
We had a pleasant and memorable stay at Cozumel Hotel & Resort, and we are truly grateful for the efforts of the entire team. Being a smaller hotel, it has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and it was clear that the staff work very hard to ensure guests feel comfortable and cared for throughout their stay. The evening entertainment was wonderful and engaging. We especially enjoyed the Mayan night at the beach, Latin night, and the Mexican show — all were lively, well organized, and enjoyable for guests of all ages. The entertainment staff were exceptionally kind and friendly, keeping guests engaged during the day with activities such as volleyball, bingo, ping pong, and other games, which added a lot of fun to our experience. We also appreciated the thoughtful amenities around the pool area. Games, toys, snorkeling gear, and swimming life jackets were provided free of charge, which made it very convenient and enjoyable, especially for families. The all-inclusive option was a good value for the price. Breakfast, lunch, daytime snacks, and dinner were included. While the dinner selection was not overwhelming, it felt just right for a smaller resort and was satisfying overall. The staff did a great job managing everything smoothly and with genuine warmth. The hotel staff, in general, were very welcoming, attentive, and helpful, which truly made a difference in our stay. There are a few areas that could benefit from improvement — the room could use some updates, the coffee was a bit light for our taste, and better ventilation in the bathroom would be helpful. These were minor points and did not take away from our overall positive experience. Pro tip for future travelers: If you plan to take a taxi from Cozumel Airport, you may want to politely bypass the concierge attendants inside the airport. Simply walk outside toward the main road, where you can easily find taxis at more reasonable rates. We found taxis available for about $20 USD or 300–350 Mexican Pesos to the hotel. Paying more is usually unnecessary. Overall, we are thankful for the hospitality and care we received and appreciate the efforts of the Cozumel Hotel & Resort team in making our stay relaxing and enjoyable.

Family dive trip after Christmas
Nothing luxurious at this hotel but it is clean and fun and the staff is very friendly. Mostly divers and families here. Package includes all meals (which are just so so) sit close to the water and ask for Alejandro as your waiter. He's fantastic! Diving is beautiful and good for beginners.
