  Beautiful Property But Small Rooms.

  The property is in that beautiful classic Spanish Hacienda style that Cartagena is known for. The lobby amd courtyards are beautiful. Especially the one where breakfast is served. The lobby is 24 access controlled, so its extra safe. And there is a Juan Valdez café attached to lobby. We booked a superior room and thats what left us disappointed. It was so small. Its really a very basic king room. Hardly any space for luggage and a small bath and shower stall. This is such a beautiful building, but its only worth it to stay in one of their suites.

  Disappointing Stay at Getsemani Not So Luxury Hotel

  Beautiful historic hotel, but unfortunately a very disappointing stay for my husband and me. This is not a 4 star hotel, but more so a 2 star hotel. The pool was extremely small, the breakfast was very basic, and the biggest issue was the noise. We were never informed that there was active construction directly outside the hotel, and the construction noise made it very difficult to rest. We were also woken up at 1:15 a.m. one night by staff moving chairs in the common area upstairs, which showed very poor judgment and lack of consideration for guests. Another major problem was the bathroom window, which did not close properly and had no covering. It let in both noise and early morning sunlight, waking us up around 6:00 a.m. several mornings during our vacation. We asked to change rooms, but the only options were one above a nightclub and another with the same bathroom window issue. We ended up leaving three days early. The supervisor was very rigid and unwilling to handle the situation reasonably, even with a partial refund, despite the circumstances and Expedia’s coordination with the hotel. Policies are understandable, but situations outside the norm should be handled with more flexibility and better judgment. The general manager later told us he would follow up to help find a solution, possibly a partial refund, but he never contacted us, even after I reached out twice on WhatsApp. A few simple improvements would help: offer earplugs while construction is ongoing, fix the bathroom windows so they block noise and light, and provide better resolution when unusual situations seriously affect a guest’s stay. Overall, the building is attractive, but the lack of comfort, professionalism, and follow through made this a very poor experience.

  The name is misleading

  The name is a scam as it is not a luxury hotel at all. Rooms and the building is nice but that is all. Do not take a cheaper room facing the busy street. Ask for one inside the building. Internet did not work nore the television. No glasses for drinking water. This list is long but with this price one should get better services. Breakfast is ok and service also ok.

  Charming Hotel - Great Value for your Money

  PROS: EXCELLENT Service from staff. Full Breakfast included. Very charming colonial style hotel. Clean and quiet rooms. Located within the wall city and with views of the wall and castle. Small rooftop pool with small jacuzzi with 360 views. Even thou is on a busy street the room was very quiet. CONS: won't allow you to check in before 3pm not even a minute before (we arrived at 2:30 and literally had to sit in front of the reception until they called our names at 3:01pm) Rooms are extremely hot even with the fans as they do not turn on the AC prior guest arriving.

  Getsemani Mid-Range

  Photos in marketing show a true but incomplete depiction of this hotel, which has pleasant common areas, very simple rooms, a minuscule pool and is located right on the good side of the edge of seediness of the tourist districts. It was very walkable, and we ventured far each day, though also enjoyed early morning walks around the corner. Breakfast was a nice touch, with plenty daily overlap, though they changed just enough to make each day interesting. The area around the hotel is quite noisy, and this might effect some guests' sleep.
