Luxurious accommodation in the heart of Athens. Great Titanium member recognition
The hotel is located about 30-40 minutes from the airport and within walking distance to all the main attractions. An early checking and a complimentary suite upgrade were much appreciated. The room was modern, immaculate , and luxurious. The only minor issue is USB outlets were very slow to charge. The rooftop restaurant provides creative dishes for dinner and a decent breakfast buffet with panoramic view. The staffs are polite and welcoming. I would not hesitate to return.

A good stay with some great and less great moments.
We recently revisited the Hotel Grand Bretagne for our second trip to Athens. The first time we booked a deluxe room with city view and were upgraded to a deluxe acropolis view with balcony. This time we booked the Grand Acropolis suite with which came with VIP check-in and a butler. Check-in went smoothly and the team was quite charming and accommodated our wish for an early check-in. I didn't realize the suite didn't have a balcony and this was disappointing because we really enjoyed sitting out on the terrace and watching the guards at the Parliament building and the hubbub below and to me is more valuable than a living room which we don't use much. The service was really spotty. After the wonderful welcome we didn't interact much with the butler. We always ask for more coffees as being American we drink two or three before going down to breakfast, and while the butler brought this promptly the first day it was not remembered over the next few days. And in fact the housekeeping people never replenished the coffee at all on the last day. Our TA had sent some champagne which we didn't drink the first night and usually the ice will be replaced - here it was not. There were small things that were annoying: the shower stall is very small but had a giant rain shower head that continually leaked outside the shower. It may be a policy that personal items aren't touched, but we are accustomed to some straightening of the room which wasn't done. A note in the room said that we could view the final bill on the tv, but we could not. Just little things but they add up. Things we loved before and loved again: The bar and restaurant with the acropolis view. The weather was grand and it was just other worldly to view 2000 years of history while having an exquisite cocktail. The breakfast is adequate with an interesting variety. And the historical value and charm really can't be overstated.

Beautiful hotel with lovely rooms, but overpriced for the level of service. Breakfast is very limited and low quality, a
The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are lovely, but the service doesn’t match the price. Breakfast had very little variety and the quality was quite low. They also don’t offer normal taxi booking and push guests to use their own drivers, which are extremely overpriced. Overall, nice hotel but not worth the cost due to weak services.

Top contender for Best Hotel in Europe
Since 1874 the Grande Bretagne has served as one of Europe’s unrivalled superb hotels. The bar is often meeting grounds for members of Parliament whose offices are just across the Square. The rooms are stately and the roof top bar and restaurant offer the very best views of the Acropolis.Stars of our recent stay were the 6th floor Concierge team who offerered the Best recommendations! Special thanks to Panayotis at the main Reception for solving a missing reservation with intelligence and humor.

Grand hotel
A true gem. The history, rooms, dining, service are as good as it gets. Have a meal overlooking the Acropolis. Eveything about this hotel is grand.
