Jul 22, 2025A beautiful oasis in the town
Hotel La Polvora is beautiful-the rooms are clean, the bathroom was huge and the staff are exceptional. Each person we dealt with went out of their way to help us with anything we needed from booking taxis to hanging wet clothes! Jeffery and Steven deserve a special mention. The breakfasts were delicious and very generous in size and the complimentary coffee and water was excellent (Saving on plastic too 😊). The pool was delightful and refreshing after a long journey and sweaty days in the town! A little gem of a place that I would recommend and come back to if I have the luck to visit beautiful Granada again!

Some place nice.
The property was clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly, and very helpful with all services provided. Breakfast area was clean and pleasant. The front of hotel has street parking which was monitored with cameras, well lit and hotel lobby person on site watching the vehicles. Overall we were very happy and impressed with this hotel.

Beautiful hotel with great staff.
Great experience at this beautiful and amazing hotel. The staff and especially the owner were awesome.They went above and beyond to make sure that I had good time. The location if perfect and it close to city center. I strongly recommend it.

Dec 30, 2024Farther away than I thought.
The hotel is small, yet has a cozy colonial feel to it. Staff is friendly yet slow. There’s only one person at the front desk at any time and if there are several guests needing assistance, the wait can be quite long. Breakfast is free but unremarkable. Biggest issue for us, was that the location is about 18 minutes walk from downtown Granada and most restaurants/attractions. While the actual distance is not the issue, it’s not the nicest area to walk through and the sidewalks are at different state of repair. Little regard is given by local drivers to pedestrians crossing the street. A taxi is probably ~$3-4 for a couple though. For the record: we never felt unsafe while walking. Mattress was quite firm and pillows of poor quality. Stayed 4 nights and didn’t have the room serviced once.

Stay here!
This is home away from home. Clean, spacious, pool and kindness. I doubt you will meet a friendlier staff any where in Nicaragua, who will always be there for you. It is a 12-15 minute walk from Central Park. And if you prefer, less than $1 in a taxi. I will return for sure!
