One of our favorite places to visit!

We love Ventus at Marina El Cid!! The food is great! We particularly enjoyed El Mercado for lunch. Jessica makes the best burgers and tacos! El Accrife Mexican restaurant was a new favorite for dinner. Christian and Juan Pedro were great waiters. Zanzibar was our favorite place to hang out. Juan, Charly, Diego and Patty all took great care of us! Our butlers, Ivan and Alejandro made sure we had everything we needed. The spa is great and the staff is excellent, especially Griselda and Angel. We are already looking forward to returning in January!

Overall Rating: 4.5 out of 5 – A Great Stay with One Major Exception

We had an overall fantastic stay at the resort. The staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our visit. The facility itself is gorgeous, with plenty of beautiful spaces to relax and unwind. We spent many wonderful days lounging on the beach while the kids enjoyed playing beach volleyball. We celebrated my wifes birthday while there and the staff were very accomodating for her special day If à la carte dining is important to you, I would definitely recommend the Platinum upgrade. Unofficially, it seemed that Platinum guests were able to secure dinner reservations at the most desirable times, which made the dining experience much more enjoyable. All other dinning options were great Our only complaint — and unfortunately it was a significant one — was the deep sea fishing excursion offered through El Cid Marina. This turned into a very unpleasant and frightening experience, especially as I was with my 9-year-old son. The sea conditions were extremely rough, to the point that five of the six guests were vomiting for most of the trip. After three hours of severe discomfort, with my son lying on the floor of the boat sick and miserable the entire time, I insisted that we return to shore early. The crew was clearly unhappy about cutting the trip short, as the excursion was scheduled for four hours and all guests had paid for the full duration. Additionally, there was no mention or visible discussion of life jackets. While they may have been on board, this was never communicated, and given the rough conditions, it was concerning. In seas that choppy, someone could easily have been injured or gone overboard. This seems like a simple fix: if sea conditions are unsafe or excessively rough, the excursion should either be postponed or guests should at least be clearly warned and given the option to reschedule. Aside from this experience, we truly enjoyed our stay. With better oversight of third-party excursions, this resort would easily be a 5-star experience.

    Birthday celebration

We've been back several times and have stayed on all resort properties with Ventus being the most central. To make our experience better, we booked the platinum package. Our butler's were Alejandro and Ivan and they took great care of us for my fiancée birthday. Booked all of our dinners with the times we wanted and was able to take advantage of all the fine restaurants. They took great care of us and made it a memorable experience. Alfredo was great, works in the platinum taking care of guests and so appreciative of his professionalism with a few issues we had. I will say, it says gratuities included but we do tip and it made our trip way better. Hard working and everyone goes out of their way. Those 3 guys made our trip over the top and thanks for making the birthday extra special. Decorated the room. And Diego our pool waiter was awesome too. Thanks everyone and hope to see you soon!!!!

Super great vacay for the New Year 2026

Had such a great vacation! Food was excellent at every on-site restaurant, we especially loved the French restaurant and our server Francisco made it even more special! My most gracious THANKS go to our butlers Noah, Luis and Hugo who were top notch in giving the very best service anyone could ever want.

Know what you are paying for

If you know what to expect and that's what you pay for it is a good resort. Do not expect playing in the ocean or fine dining. It is close to the airport and the grounds are well maintained. At check in there is a lot of time spent trying to upsell you to a better room or the Platinum Club. Our room was nice, clean and quiet (building 31) but it is a walk to the main pool, buffet and ocean. The AC and ceiling fan worked good. The hammock on the balcony is nice. There are a few pools that seemed heated but many had chilly water, so the ones that had warm water were busy. The towel system is quick and easy with plenty of towel stations throughout the resort. You will have to say No Thank You to the spa workers on the way here and there which I don't like. Every time you pass they have people asking if you are ready to book your massage. The beach is nice to walk along. There are no waves to play in and not much to see snorkeling right of the beach (you need to boat out to the reef). Unfortunately we were unable to book any reservations at any of the restaurants during our entire stay. That is where I think if you know what you are paying for it's fine. If you know going in that you will be at an all inclusive with buffet options only and that's what you expect and what you paid for it's ok. Unless you pay for the Platinum Club or are a Millionaire Member you most likely will not be getting into any of the speciality restaurants. It's not a big thing but it does put this resort in a different category, star rating and value since speciality dining was not available. I would have preferred that they were upfront that speciality dining isn't really an option for the average guest.
