An opportunity to slow down during the Christmas Rush.
My husband and I have discovered that El Cid Marina Spa and beach resort is a wonderful way to begin our Christmas season. This is our third time vacationing there in December. The weather is not under anyone's control, but usually includes several days of warm, not too humid temperatures. If it rains on you, then you can still go swimming or curl up with a book, a drink and a card game with new friends. While those activities are important, they are not what brings us back to the El Cid resort. It is the total atmosphere including the staff, the food, the property . This time our butlers were Erik and Leo. They arranged for dinner reservations, rides to some of the restaurants, and my hydro therapy spa appointments, plus other helpful assistance. There are 9 restaurants and each is 5 star. You can't go wrong with the food. The Christmas show and the Abba review show were just two of the shows during the week. Wonderful entertainment, all day entertainment. This was a fantastic break during the beginning of the winter season.

Excellent resort
Our trip to Hotel Marina El Cid was incredible! Food was good for a resort, most the staff were very helpful and nice (some were not) We had platinum club so it can with butlers. Luis, Hugo, and Noah were absolutely amazing!! Always helpful, very nice, if I asked them for something, they got it done and done quickly. The resort is large, lots to do, great beach. We had an amazing time! Would go here again.

Gorgeous Resort!
This resort was stunning! The rooms were spacious and beautiful. The food was amazing - whether a la carte or regular buffet. Always freshly made and delicious. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Everyone was great but I do want to give a special shout out to Raul on the entertainment team. He was a wonderful guide on the bike ride to town, and helping us make anklets / bracelets. Everytime I ran into him on the resort he remembered me and asked if there was anything he could help me with. Such a sweetie!! I highly recommend this resort - well worth the money!!

We stayed at the Marina from Nov 29-Dec 10 with 2 adults and 1 young teen. First of all, we loved that we had access to all 3 resorts. After getting SO LOST on our first evening we quickly learned all the walking paths. The golf carts are frequent and always happy to offer a ride if needed. Room: We got upgraded to an ocean view, pool access room. Perfect for us. AC was cold, towels were plentiful. Food: Knowing all tastes differ, we are easy to please. Absolutely loved the mimosa bar at the Marina breakfast. Bacon every day for alla y’all. Mercado de Delores was our favorite lunch spot, and DIY fish tacos at Hacienda are also delicious. We had no trouble getting dinner reservations, but to be fair we do enjoy a late dinner. Room service was quick and made for a great midnight snack. Drink: We were regular visitors, not platinum or anything special. We thought the selection of spirits was really nice. My personal favorite being the Diega pink gin. Bartenders and servers really got to know us and our preferences. Our besties this week were DIEGO, CARLOS, JUAN at the Marina Congo bar. Ask Diego for the hot pink Barbie drink, Carlos will make you a delicious fresh melon cocktail and Juan will see you from a mile away when you’re ready for another. Entertainment: There is something going on at this place almost 24/7 (just a slight exaggeration). My first Spanish lesson with LESLIE and CYNTHIA, to pool dance lessons and crafts with IXCHEL. If you have a shy kid or teen like we do, just point the entertainment staff in their direction and they will try their best to get them included. Right TONY (“I see you Isabelle come join us!!”)?? So thankful to all these staff for keeping us a tiny bit active and giving us so many memories. ATMOSPHERE: Whether you’re in the mood for beach bumming in peace, pool volleyball with blasting music or making new friends, there seems to be a place for everyone across all 3 resorts. We made good use of each “vibe” of space. All the staff here from the front desk to the maintenance staff are incredible. A smile and hola from everyone.
