The location is good but despite repeated emails they are not refunding my security deposit. I am 69 and I left my room in excellent condition. I do not like this kind of service.

Feb 05, 2026A hidden gem on the edge of Waikiki that humbly shines
Hotel Renew is a great little boutique hotel, that may not be able to compete with the luxury hotels amenities such as a pool with a view or its own restaurant, but what it has is real, meaningful and old school: A wonderful staff who exudes the authentic Spirit of Aloha. I was traveling from Maui to Oahu as a medical companion for a friend having surgery on Oahu. I called and wrote staff at Renew several times as I was preparing for our trip. Whether by telephone or email, the staff was always personable, polite, professional and helpful. An example, in case, upon arrival, I realized that I lost my US Passport. Jordan escorted me back to my valet parked car. I looked for the passport and was super disappointed not to find it. I called the airport, hospital and police, but no one had turned it in. I was traveling to New Zealand in 2 weeks and was in a very stressful situation in addition to being there for my friend who just had surgery. I told Jacob and the front desk staff that, although I was keeping the faith, it looked like my passport was gone. And then I headed back up to the room. Five minutes later, I get a call from the front desk. Jacob had found my Passport. I screamed in delight. He took the initiative from his own volition to recheck the car. He found the passport that I was unable to find. He took the extra step without being asked and came up a winner. I am so grateful. The Hotel room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and modern with nice toiletries. It is decorated with simple features that give it a Zen feel. The only thing I missed was an in-room coffee maker. I LOVE coffee. But they have a cafe in the lobby that serves coffee from 6am. I had to leave for hospital at 430am so I missed my morning coffee. The hotel was VERY quite. I did not hear any other guests in the hallway, the elevator or people and cars on the street outside. It is great value! I have stayed in other hotels at this price point and they were not nearly as nice, nor the staff as hospitable. I live in Maui now but lived most of my life on Oahu. So I know Oahu, Waikiki and the various hotels exceedingly well. It is a nice boutique hotel on the leading edge of Waikiki, near the zoo and Diamond Head, and away from the noise and hustle and bustle of Waikiki. Despite not having a lot of high end amenities, it offers a comfortable and safe room at a great price with a staff that exemplifies the true Aloha Spirit. Highly recomme

Easy Peasy
Hotel Renew is always clean, in a great location, nice staff and easy valet parking. This is our place to stay when we need a couple of days in Honolulu.

Great budget option with a modern feel!
As a solo traveler, it was hard to beat the option of a huge king bed a few hundred feet from the beach while also being more affordable than the huge hotels nearby. If you prefer a more peaceful and quieter experience then I would recommend this place. It's a great location in Waikiki with many restaurants around and I was also able to walk to both Ala Moana Center and Diamond Head in either direction. They provide complimentary beach towels and a welcoming drink. The room had an oceanside view and I liked the more modern aesthetic with it's light fixtures and design. My only complaint would be I wish the bathroom had a fan.

Great stay in Waikiki
The Hotel Renew is well located near many restaurants and close to a great beach. I loved the cozy room with stylish touches and the matcha and musubi from As You Like was amazing!
