  Rubbish cocktails. Rubbish entertainment. Repetitive food.

  The hotel is very clean with a variety of pools of which there was always sunlounger space around 8/9AM. The beach they claim to be near is a sorry excuse for a beach. Entertainment team seem to be lovely people but the entertainment at night was shocking. Our family actually thought we were being pranked when the ‘musical express show’ was on — lip syncing staff who didn’t know the words, singers screeching instead of singing, costumes on back to front, people clearly just copying others, technical components were cut short and the whole crowd were just staring at each other - awful! Food is so repetitive, literally nothing changes. The restaurants you can book into are a little better but food takes a while to be refilled. Cleaners are amazing and clean the room to a very high standard. Drinks were the worst thing about this place. If you come for all inclusive choose somewhere else. The cocktails are settings on a blender and taste of water/chemicals/bleach with no flavour whatsoever. You can ask for classic cocktails but it seems no one really knows how to make these either and they taste worse. Cups are so small so you are up and down every 10 minutes. Really disappointed with this hotel.

  Expected Better

  On arrival we were met with courteous reception staff, as Riu members we were able to fast track and we had previously booked in online. We were provided with a luxurious 2-bedroom and a large balcony with a sea view and a view of the entertainment stage. Unfortunately part of our view was a roof of the restaurant below. There was a fridge and bottled water could be picked up from the lobby bar, the water is complimentary. Pool towels are supplied and can be changed as required. The gym is quite small and has a range of equipment adequate for my needs and when I was there it was not too busy. The pool and common areas are scrupulously clean and staff emptied the bins and took away used glasses regularly. The sun-beds are a bit tired and have signs of regular maintenance, the beds could do with replacement / updating. There are plenty of sun beds and shade through canopies and brollies no need for the mad morning rush to claim a spot, there was always beds available around the four main pools. The entertainment staff work hard to provide daytime and evening entertainment. There are some evening acts brought in and the Riu party night is exceptional. The bars do not have the range of drinks I would expect from a four star hotel, there are no premium drinks, eg this Scotsman could not get a Scotch Whisky, it’s mainly local and drinks you have probably never heard off. The cocktails come from a machine rather than the bar staff making them for you. In the evening there are usually queues at both entertainment bars. The lobby bar is open 24hours and a range of snacks can be had after 23:00. The restaurants: 3 specialist which are open on set nights and are booked on the app. The Italian was a bit disappointing as was the grill, however the Asian was excellent, we did use the grill and Asian twice. The main restaurant had a wide selection of dishes however the food was very repetitive, a mixture of theme nights might improve it. Wine and Juice were supplied by dispensers most of the carbonated drinks are zero, we found the white wine to be not chilled at a few outlets. Checkout was strait forward and we were able to book the shower room to freshen up. There are 2shower rooms and they book up very early by 07:30 in our case. To keep on your room if available is €11 per person per hour up to 3hours. As we booked direct we were offered free private transfers, these are not private they are a bus with multiple drop and pickups just as with a package holiday. On arrival at the airport our transport didn’t arrive and we were along with others eventually put onto another bus. This our second visit to this hotel and since our first 4years ago the restaurant food has certainly become repetitive and the drinks issue both us puts is off returning to this Riu hotel. I usually put my recommendations in as much as would I return to this hotel, but for the reasons previously mentioned won’t be returning anytime soon.

  Fab

  Honestly a great holiday .. we were there 10 nights from 2nd October to 12th and we never saw a grumpy face .. every member of staff were fantastic.. drinks were ok .. nice cocktails and just ask for more alcohol to top them up and they will do so happily.. Food was ok .. we are not foodies so we know what we are getting at an all inclusive and can always find something.. entertainment great … just make the most of it and cheer everyone on etc.. we had both the white and neon party and both equally fab.. loads of sun beds loads of drink stations and coffee stations to hep yourself too.. My top tip is to join the Facebook group as we found out so much on there .. like going up the hard rock hotel next door called the 16th and having beautiful cocktails and sunset with fab music .. and taking a taxi to las Americas to a steak house called the bank where the food drinks and service were out of this world.. trips we booked through TUI and were great.. we definitely recommend this hotel as a lovely out of season holiday .. the weather was superb.. all in all a fab time thank you RIU Buenavista From the Goody’s xxx

  Nice sunny stay and welcoming staff in every department

  Went to RUI Buenavista for a week at the end of September. From before even arriving the friendly and attentive service was evident with an email exchange with the hotel. On arrival a very smooth check in and escort to room. View from 880 was superb. Food was as to be expected from an AI with plenty of choice and couple of speciality restaurants to choose (book in advance using the app) Amstel and Cruzcampo Radler on tap and a large selection of cocktails. Frank at the outside bar was especially friendly and always trying to ply us with alcohol, a credit to the hotel. Friday night is Rui party night and bit to be missed. Don’t know where the entertainment staff get the energy from. All daytime entertainment is low key and not pressured to take part. Thanks to Valentina for friendly and professional yoga and Pilates. Fresh towels everyday and plenty of pools and lots of sunbeds. Nice little area of Tenerife not too busy which is what we wanted. Do go and catch the sunset at Hardrock hotel next door. We will be back for more Rui hospitality soon. Thankyou

  Clean hotel but that's only good thing about it .

  I have just returned from this hotel , I am so disappointed with this hotel . After going to another riu hotel , I think this would be the same kind of hotel. What a disappointment this hotel is . The food is so bad , they don't even have a bread knife to cut your bread buns ? Couldn't even get mushrooms in the morning, there wasn't even have any fresh orange juice.. The food was so repetitive, When we booked i emailed the hotel to say I wanted a quite room , what room we got we wouldn't move once we had unpacked , i wasnt prepared to move again,, as we've had a very stressful 6 months, so we wanted a quiet room just to chill. So where did we get put us right next to the main stage 🤔. It was my husbands birthday the next day , we were going to watch the entertainment however. A German old man thought it was OK to assault me because I went to sit on empty tables next to them . No way would he let me , he even marked my arm Gid knows how I didn't react and throw the drinks i was holding. It has been reported and my complaint has gone to riu direct as well. I'm going to try send a photo why a man wants 3 tables and 4 chairs between him and his wife god only knows. The only good thing about this hotel is the man that worked monday to fri night shift .(Carlos I think his name was ) He was amazing 👏 🤩. I found also this size hotel does not have enought staff going for your breakfast and evening meal , There was never any tables cleared for you to sit down always had to que . This hotel has to employ alot more people for the restaurant .
