Holiday with grandchildren
Having read a number of reviews about the sickness bug going around the hotel we were taking our two grandsons aged 10 & 14 we were a little worried, we didn’t experience any problems with the hotel going to great lengths by having numerous sanitation stations to prevent the spread of any illness . Our room was a two bedroom apartment which was excellent with the location close to all the facilities The hotel was always spotlessly clean whether, rooms, bars, restaurants and pool areas All the staff are courteous & helpful . Special mention to reception staff for arranging a late checkout room as we had a late flight . Plenty of Sunbeds available so no need to get up early to reserve one. Good selection of food with plenty of variety Special mention to to the entertainment team who work so hard whether daytime activities or evening entertainment Barbara was especially good with the children The Rui party on the Friday night was really spectacular. Overall an excellent holiday in a wonderful hotel Thank you

Honest review
Hotel has everything you could need. Fantastic pools for family's and the activity teams were very good and energetic. The staff from check in to dining and room cleaning were very friendly and approachable. All food, even in themed restaurants is self service. Large variety to choose from. Snack bar only has chips/burgers and hot dogs, would have been nice to have some fruit available. Location is fairly isolated and on a steep hill . There is a small shopping centre 5 mins walk up a hill that has some brilliant restaurants on the 3rd floor. Also has a VR area for the kids and a soft play and trampoline play area for kids and bar beside it for the adults, keep in mind, kids under 4 have to be accompanied by an adult while in the play area, I got the short stray while watching her sipping a sangria. You can get a 15 min taxi/ 20 euro in to Costa adaje if you want evening drinks or more hustle and bustle

Average with issues
There is a lot to like about this hotel but some serious issues too. Good points: Great rooms, spacious and housekeeping excellent. Pools are great, nice temperature and clean (although salty). Large hotel but plenty of space and always able to get sunbeds, even over Easter and the communal area's are spacious and always able to find a table in the bar areas. Good location with lovely views but not much around it if you do want to eat out of the hotel (few supermarkets and nice shopping centre 5 mins walk). Staff generally friendly. Bad Points: The hotel is let down hugely by the food and drink. All the restaurants are buffet and other than the Asian restaurant, all serve the same, very average food. Reasonable choice but gets very boring after a few days and other than the freshly cooked food, all is luke warm and bland. They have a big issue with food hygiene which is obvious by the number of people falling ill with sickness and diarrhoea (piles of sick in communal areas are a normal site and from speaking to others a high percentage have issues with sickness). Three of our party fell ill on the second day and were in bed for 2 days with violent sickness bug. Watching the cooking, I think this is due to the cooks adding warm food (scrambled eggs, rice etc) to cold food, rather than removing the cold food first. The other big let down is the drinks. I appreciate it's only 4 star and all inclusive but the only wine available is from draft machines and is pretty horrible. No bottles available anywhere. On the plus side as there are self service stations all over so there are never queues at the bars. Entertainment is very average but similar to other Tenerife hotels. So, if you are not bothered about food and drink and happy to be careful what you eat, this hotel is ok for the price but other hotels in the area are much better.

Disappointed
This HOTEL LETS the RIU BRAND DOWN and I won’t be booking another.THE PRO’S Booked a family room. Its spacious immaculate and very comfortable, our view is very good. Family rooms are spread out over all the hotel no difference in price. Some have good views ,others very poor.Staff are very attentive in every area. Drinks are good as far as I am concerned. Tried all different ones all seemed pretty good. Wine available self service was reasonable.. Sunbeds are available somewhere all day. However the best spots have gone before 1000am. Entertainment varied a lot, it’s very much personnel taste I liked most of it but judging by the numbers watching most were not impressed, animation teams efforts are a bit hit and miss.I knew hotel was in quite area but if you like a change of scenery or a local bar or a restaurant for a change don’t come here. I WONT BE RETURNING due to the very AVERAGE FOOD.I have struggled to find anything nice. Tonight was the first day I found a nice salad mostly very average. Without exception meats were tasteless, vegetables bland, even the chips were poor. Best fish of the week so far Pollock and Salmon, mostly it’s bland and overcooked. Best food on offer was the vegetarian stews, how do you produce tasteless pizza. Worst soup I have ever tasted but given the veg is tasteless and ends up in the soup not surprising. This place is a bit like a cruise ship, once someone is sick ether with gastroenteritis or other illnesses, with lots of children potential for serial spreading is huge . Hand gel in all areas, staff on all restaurant entrances making it compulsory to have some before entry. I have met a few people who have been ill so it’s here. Not really sure it’s hotels fault but no one acknowledging problem.
