Location is good, ~60m by sea from Cartagena. From Isla Grande, you can catch good sunrises and sunsets. The atmosphere is very relaxing. Relaxing should be the purpose of your trip, since there is not much else to do. (With that being said, I had two fine scuba dives). Our room (suite) was amazing. Top class. The restaurant was good but not spectacular. Lastly, the staff was very kind and helpful, although most of them only speak Spanish.

1 night on the island
Stayed one night on the island, staff was particularly friendly and went out of their way to make our experience memorable. Jose was very attentive and had a wonderful sense of humour. Helen went out of her way guide our evening walk. The food was delicious and the beach was beautiful.

We had a great experience at the hotel. We really enjoyed the quietness of the beach (there is a private beach with music and one without). The food was also amazing, especially the seafood! All the staff was friendly, especially Jose who shared some good conversations with us. And made us feel right at home. We did a lot of activity’s like snorkeling and diving. All could be arranged at and by the hotel. The room was beautiful and staff members came to the room every night to bring us some home made chocolate. Everyone here did their absolute best to give us a great experience. Tortuga!

We had a fantastic stay here. The people who work at the hotel are genuinely delightful, and the rooms are incredibly nice. The beach is beautiful during the day, even with the day-trippers around, but it becomes especially magical once they leave and the island quiets down. I would absolutely recommend staying at least one night — ideally two — to really enjoy the experience. The snorkeling was wonderful, and we were pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the prices were for food, drinks, and other hotel services. Everything was also impressively clean, including the beach bathrooms. This is an island experience, not a polished mega luxury resort — and honestly, that’s part of the charm. If you want a beautiful, relaxed, authentic Caribbean getaway, this place is special. I already want to come back with my whole family.
