Long Waiting Times at Check-In, Front Desk, and Dining

    1. There was no shampoo in my room, and no one answered the service phone. I had to go to the front desk in person to request shampoo. It was finally delivered at 2:15 a.m. — yes, a.m. 2. I arrived at the hotel at 4:00 p.m. but did not get into my room until 5:30 p.m. My luggage did not arrive until 6:30 p.m. I later found it sitting unattended in the lobby. Nothing had been scheduled, and I had to ask a bellboy for assistance. In total, it took 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete check-in and receive my luggage. On another night around 9:00 p.m., I went to the front desk and overheard several guests complaining that they had already been waiting in line for over 30 minutes. At that time, there were only 6–7 families in line. We have stayed at this hotel every year since the pandemic, and the quality of service has declined year after year. This year was by far the worst. One employee mentioned that the hotel is experiencing staff shortages, which may explain the situation, but it does not excuse the experience. Even at 9:40 p.m., trying to grab dinner meant waiting in a line of about 30 people. There were many empty seats, but not enough staff to serve guests. This is not the kind of experience most guests would expect or want We are still staying at the hotel and will provide further updates if anything changes.

    Overrated at a big cost!

First, let’s start by saying I have never received worse service from any resort I have ever stayed at before. I, along with my family, stay at all inclusive resorts several times a year, this was the worst in many areas. They expanded the property but clearly not the number of restaurants, I stayed for 5 days and they didn’t give my family a single reservation for a restaurant. I had two birthdays that we were celebrating as well and nothing. The food is mediocre at best, bars serve you drinks out of plastic cups, I’m not taking about at the pool I’m saying at 90% of the bars. The sports bar only has TVs and no ESPN, also no food. This place is dead with no real entertainment after 10pm. All the restaurants shut down. The kitchens close at 9:45 so it’s only a buffet after that until 11pm. Furthermore, there is no dessert available after 10pm either. A huge disappointment from start to finish. I came with my adult teenagers and they were underwhelmed with night activities and food. When you pay over 10K you expect way more. This was my first visit here but definitely my last!. We usually stay at resorts in the Dominican Republic. They may not have the number of activities that are here, but every guest is made to feel special. You can’t put a price on that.

    Stunning property. Shockingly poor service.

This hotel markets itself as a luxury, concierge-driven experience. In reality, the concierge was rude, inflexible, and unhelpful. When room service arrived over an hour late—causing us to risk missing a dinner reservation—the concierge focused on charging extra fees instead of helping fix the problem. Zero ownership. Zero empathy. When we reported an air-conditioning failure, the hotel sent two staff members to our room at 1:30 a.m., knocking and ringing the doorbell. That’s not service—that’s a complete lack of common sense. One more warning: do not visit during peak season. Restaurants, tastings, and experiences were fully booked, leaving us unable to access many of the amenities heavily advertised. Once you’re there, flexibility disappears. Beautiful on Instagram. Disappointing in reality. Luxury is about how you’re treated—and this missed the mark.
