Luxury and comfort
First time staying at Hyatt hotels and I am converted for life. The staff are so friendly and attentive. The luxury feel from the hotel lobby to my room was exceptional. The spa is unreal as is the breakfast. Room on 19th floor was modern. Just perfect.

A good choice if you're coming to Birmingham
Great views and location. Spa facilities are welcome too. A good choice if you're coming to Birmingham with easy access to Brindley Place, The Mailbox, the ICC, The Rep theatre, the Utilita Arena, Broad Street and New Street Station. Only challenge may be parking.

Avoid
They fail to tell you of the car park charges. Regardless of signs they say well you should read the signs. Not everyone can read. The bar lets in everyone for a pub crawl, you know it’s a problem when they have security paid for to with them ! Dated hotel, the times on the spa to use it are a joke. Shutting at 5 is pointless if you’re arrive at 4pm and then opening at 9am the next morning when you’re checking out before 12 means again what’s the point. The breakfast is covered in pepper. The eggs were sloppy. This was a trip to collect a car and a child free night away I thought I’d cheer my self up. But the hotel decor dated and then charging £10 a glass of wine. Is a joke. I regularly stay in 4* and above. This needs reviewing it is NOT a 4*!

very good experience
I was looking for a preferred hotel for booking, we have tried The Grand which without staff would be perfect as the staff were dreadful but room was good, Malmaison ok, but Hyatt you are the best from the moment a lady called Beatrice checked me in to when we checked out on the Monday, it was great Beatrice saw to getting Maintenance on a Sunday as our water was luke warm in room was fixed within 2 hours, the breakfast was good, If I had one little moan, 7 times during eating breakfast we were asked if it was ok!!! a bit too much and the first morning I was asked by one of the staff to leave a review on him, no would be the answer to that I prefer professional staff as the Receptionist demonstrated, you should have a word with Restaurant staff regarding this as I was on my own that morning and did feel quite uncomfortable especially when he reached out to my plate to take a hair of it, which was my own I might add, that aside everything was really good and I cannot wait to stay again. No airco and unhelpful/dismissive staff
The airco didn’t work and we were told that it was blowing out cool air at 22°c. Now I thought he was joking so I stood up beside him. Then he told me to open the curtains to let the glass cool down the room (because there wasn’t a window to open). When we said that still wouldn’t work they made us wait 30 mins until they would give us a fan. When a fan finally turned up, it was a tiny desk fan and we were told we couldn’t get more than one tiny fan. The next day we were told the engineers would fix it and when returning in the evening it still didn’t work so we complained again before going out at drinks and dinner. They didn’t even bother to get the engineers in. The final morning I wanted to make sure that my partner got breakfast because I was leaving early but they said that it wasn’t included (even though we got it the day before) and because they couldn’t get the airco fixed they would just include it. I don’t take that as been nice or beneficial but I was tired (from not sleeping well because of no airco) and could not be bothered arguing at the time.
