What a beautiful property; it is so expansive we were still finding new areas on our last day! The pool options and areas were limitless. Lots of areas to relax, the beach front areas were perfect as well. The food options were delicious as were the drinks. The staff was very friendly, we were treated like family everywhere!

The resort is located on a resort about 30 minutes outside of San Juan. It is completely secluded, with little to no food options. The food on the resort is of course, over priced and sub par. The resort offers no entertainment for adults or children alike. There is absolutely no night life. I would not recommend an extended stay at this resort. 1-2 nights max!

The Grand Hyatt in Puerto Rico is absolutely beautiful. The property itself is gorgeous, the views are incredible, and it’s a great place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. My biggest disappointment was the food. For such a beautiful resort, I expected much more variety and better quality. There also need to be more restaurant options on site, especially for guests with food allergies or dietary restrictions. It was difficult to find healthier options, and the choices became pretty limited. The resort has so much potential, and improving the food and restaurant options would make a big difference. Overall, the property is beautiful, but the dining experience definitely left something to be desired.

Comfort, Thoughtful Service, and Family Fun at Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve
Our family had a wonderful stay at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve. From the moment you arrive, the spacious open air lobby captures the relaxed Caribbean vibe. The resort offers a great balance of fun and relaxation. The main pool was among the largest we’ve experienced, with a freeform design and a center depth of more than five feet—perfect for enjoying the day. Be advised there a no lifeguards on duty. A volleyball net is available in one of the shallow areas, yet the pool is large enough that guests relaxing on the in-pool loungers at the opposite end can still enjoy peace and quiet. Pool toys and floaties are also provided for guests. The beach was clean and well maintained, with minimal rocks and seaweed. Kayaks are available as well, adding another fun option for guests. At check-in, Diorenis was exceptionally welcoming and helpful. Our Amex Hotel Collection reservation and Hyatt status were both recognized. We were initially assigned a quiet second-floor room with a partial view of the garden and pond, but we asked Diorenis if a room closer to the main pool was available. Within 20 minutes, she arranged a first-floor room near the pool and sent bell service to assist relocating us. The room was comfortable and spacious, with a small bistro table and chairs. Ilianys serviced our room daily, and it was always immaculately cleaned and refreshed. She even made a bow tie out of the bath tissue, a nice touch that made us smile. The breakfast buffet offered good value, with a decent selection of food. In-room dining was especially good, even with the added service charges. The pancakes and waffles seemed to come from a different kitchen—they were fluffier, with crisp edges and the portions were very generous. Molido serves smoothies and artisan pizzas, though its location is a bit far from the guest rooms and main pool. What’s missing is a true dessert shop. One of the highlights of our stay was the sushi-making class with Chef Martinez. It felt more like an interactive chef’s-table dining experience. Chef Martinez was personable, engaging, and passionate about his craft. He demonstrated his skills to the delight of both our children and us, then guided us as we made our own sushi. Matthew served us during the experience and anticipated our needs so well that we never had to ask for anything. He was a true professional. Although he was not our breakfast server, he still made a point to check on us or simply say hello. He seemed to treat every guest he served with the same level of service. There are plenty of activities around the resort, including bike rentals, ping-pong tables, cornhole, a putting green, a mini soccer field, tennis courts, and pickleball courts. We tried the nighttime neon pickleball rally, though the balls provided did not actually glow. The pickleball court surface is plastic rather than a traditional hardcourt, but it was still nice to have the option available. The resort is conveniently located near El Yunque Rainforest, so we rented a car from a local agency to explore the area. There is a Jeep rental agency on-site, though it may not be the best value unless you specifically want a Jeep. Most nearby attractions were about 30 minutes away, making the resort’s location ideal for us. Overall, we are very happy that we chose Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve for our family vacation. The resort is well maintained and offers plenty of amenities, but it was the staff who truly made our stay exceptional. We look forward to returning next year.
