Average at Best!!
Here’s a polished hotel review that captures all of that clearly and honestly, while still sounding like a real guest experience: --- **Mixed Experience – Great Pools and Food, but Service Issues Hurt Our Stay** This hotel had some real highlights, but unfortunately several major issues overshadowed what could have been a great vacation. The biggest disappointment was the rooftop Japanese restaurant at night. We waited **two and a half hours** to be seated, only to finally sit down and be told the **kitchen was closed**. We went to bed hungry after planning our evening around this reservation. What made it worse was watching **other guests still being served food** after we were turned away. The hostess, **Lisa**, was extremely snarky and dismissive throughout the entire process. Her attitude alone completely ruined the experience and honestly put a damper on our whole stay. Another major issue was the **air conditioning**, which was out for most of our stay. The hotel rooms and common areas were **extra hot**, making it very uncomfortable. I felt miserable walking around with **frizzy hair and overheating constantly**, which is not what you expect on a vacation you’re paying good money for. On the positive side, we **loved the pool setup**. The layout was beautiful, and the daytime **activities by the pool were fun and well done**. The **food at the pool was excellent**, and both the **bartender and waiter at the main pool truly made our stay**—they were friendly, attentive, and a pleasure to interact with. The **beach club food was also very good**, but there needs to be **much better music and overall vibe** there. In general, the hotel felt **boring at night**, with very few activities or entertainment options once the sun went down. Overall, the hotel has a lot of potential: great pools, great pool staff, and good food in certain areas. However, the **lack of nighttime activities**, **broken A/C**, and especially the **terrible service at the rooftop Japanese restaurant**—specifically from the hostess—really hurt our experience. With better management and customer service, this could be a fantastic resort, but as it stands, it fell short.

Incredible Globalist point redemption
We stayed four nights at Hyatt Vivid Grand Island over Christmas Eve, and had a great experience. I’m a Hyatt Globalist and booked entirely on points at 17,000 points per night, which already felt like a great deal. I had read a lot of reviews before so I wanted to help others in this review coming from a globalist and redemption. We were upgraded to the Vantage Club Master Suite Bay View King. I booked without a SUA so wasn’t sure if we would get upgraded but we did! It was huge with a wrap around patio on the 9th floor. I honestly still can’t believe the value for the points. The suite was incredible: spacious, beautifully designed. The closets were great also, lots of space. With the upgrade, we received all the Vantage Club perks, which really elevated the stay. The Vantage Club bar was excellent, with quality liquor and a relaxed atmosphere. Hector and Andy in the vantage bar were amazing. They made the trip even better. Never had a tiramisu coffee martini before. They always remembered what we liked and great personalities. The resort overall was very clean, well maintained, and well laid out. It was easy to pop up to the room to get things. It wasn’t a “party” resort which was great. Lots of nice people though, felt safe. We are in 40s. There were many 20s looking couples like college age but definitely not party people. Didn’t see many groups of singles mostly grown families and couples. The vibes were very low maintenance people though- there to relax and enjoy and not pretentious (which drives me crazy on vacations when people try to act all fancy) and the dress code was lax not formal for women so I never had to iron anything. We ate at all of the restaurants on property. I had read the reviews about the ceviche so had to do that first. We had heard the Japanese restaurant was really good so we ate there earlier in the trip. The best menu item I thought was at the beach bar- they had tuna poke nachos and they were delicious! For all-inclusive we have had trouble getting reservations in previous stays (different resorts) so we made reservations the night before for the restaurants we wanted to ensure to get the times we wanted. One night we showed up and somehow the reservation didn’t get made and the manager came over, noted I was globalist, and got us a table without any issues. I’m normally not much of a beach person (prefer pool/cabana) - some of the reviews say bad things about having a shuttle but it wasn’t that big of a deal. I probably would have only done the beach one day if it wasn’t for the tuna poke nachos. Rumbia was our waiter at the beach and he was very attentive and great service. We opted to attend the vacation club sales presentation in exchange for an 80-minute couples massage at the spa, which they listed as a $450 value. The massage was fantastic and well worth it for us since I’m all about getting things for free. Service throughout the resort was great. Housekeeping serviced the room frequently, and the ability to text requests through the app made everything easy and efficient. If I had to mention two very minor downsides: I love hot tubs and there weren’t any on property (except the vivid suite?) and the mattress /bedding felt more like a Hyatt Place rather than the plusher higher end bed/bedding. But was still nice. I genuinely felt awkward telling people we were staying “for free” on points because the experience felt anything but. This was an incredible use of Hyatt points, and we would absolutely return. Highly recommend, especially for Globalists or anyone booking on points looking for exceptional value. Curious if I would have used a SUA if I could have gotten the Vivid suite now! Anyways, was a great value and will definitely come back in the future.

AMAZING hotel!
This is a great hotel. I stayed here with my friend on a girls trip. All of the staff were very friendly and the hotel was very clean. The food was great. We were greeted with a welcome drink (fresh pressed pineapple and cucumber) upon check in. We upgraded to a vantage club room. We were taken to a special vantage check in lounge with food, full bar and desk’s to sit during the check in process. The downstairs pool had a DJ each day which was amazing. We felt safe the entire time. The best meal we had was dinner at the MEDITERRANEO restaurant. The buffet was good but just an average buffet in my opinion. Overall, a great stay and I hope to return again soon.

No air conditioning without communication
The hotel was nice; however our air condition did not work for 2 days. Actually the whole building didn't have it during the day and evening and no one communicated when it would be resolved. We slept 2 nights without any air con and had to keep the fan and deck door open which didn't help because we got bit by mosquitos. This was very disappointing. The staff overall was nice and the building was clean and well kept.

The staff is worth the stay at this hotel!
The hotel staff is beyond amazing! The entertainment staff of Orlando, Angel, and Ceasar kept us laughing and entertained. Was not expecting this part of the trip to be so wonderful! Roberto, Jesus G., Alberto, Alexis took such great care of us all week at the pool bars, both lower level and rooftop! We were made to feel at home and like family. Not a single need wasn’t met and we laughed and gained new friends from our stay here. They all deserve a giant $ raise! The food choices were phenomenal! Oishi is great Japanese. and the buffet at Galeria International Cafe was top tier fantastic- so many choices! Loved the adorable food truck/van off the pol deck! Super fun, delicious food and drinks!
