Oct 15, 2026Relaxed, nice place to visit off peak.
We are currently coming to the end of a 5 day stay at the Iberostar Selection Anthelia, our first visit. The hotel is large, well presented and has friendly staff. It is spread over different levels so expect lots of stairs - there are lifts too. Although it is large there are many different areas so it doesnt feel too busy. We stayed All inclusive, but the hotel does offer room only and half board. You do NOT get given wrist bands so expect to be asked for your room number for every drink you order and every visit to the restaurant. We have not encountered this with a 5 star all inclusive before and in our opinion would rather wear a wrist band. Having to queue to enter the restaurant purely to have our room number recorded seems a little unnecessary and I can imagine in peak times would take some time. The waiter then asks you again when you order drinks! The food on offer is good quality, we found breakfast to be the best offerings but were also pleasantly surprised by the quality and choice of desserts. There are no self service drinks (apart from juice at breakfast) so expect to wait for waiter service in the restaurant and by the pool. Its not clear what food is on offer by the pools without asking for a menu. We found maybe less choice than other hotels we have been to, but the quality is very good. The straws provided with drinks dont last very long and will break before you finish your drink! Not sure what they are made of! Not everything is included in the all inclusive package so be sure to check. In our opinion at an all inclusive we believe everything offered should be included. The room we had was a double room with garden view, looking out to the smaller top pool. We could go out of our patio door straight to the pool which was quite handy. We found loungers everytime we out, so no need to reserve (at this time of year). The mini bar is s nice touch and is topped up daily. There is also a turn down service each afternoon where chocolates are left on the bed! Location of the hotel is good. Straight out of the back onto the promenade. A few minutes walk to shops and bars of costa adeje and about an hour walk to playa de las americas. Would we return? Maybe. But not in peak season

Absolutely beautiful holiday, 7th visit to this amazing hotel! Service as always has been phenomenal! Made particularly special by Miriam at the pool bar. She is so welcoming, friendly and nothing is to much trouble for her! She is so happy every day! Thank you Miriam from all the Whiteman family who love a beer

Brilliant stay for a solo parent.
We had a lovely stay here. We upgraded from the Bougainville which I personally did not like even though I’d read extensive reviews about how great it was. The difference in quality at the Anthelia was noticeable - though maybe I was expecting too much from a 4* vs this 5* hotel. Staff at both hotels were lovely but the food, setting and quality of drinks were far superior here. The entertainment varied in quality though I appreciated that there was always something for my 6 year old and I to watch in the evenings as it was just the two of us. The gymnastics troop was excellent though and the kids club staff and activities were great. I particularly liked that there are sun loungers in the outside kids area for parents - my daughter has always refused to go to a kids club but would attend this one because she could see me nearby. It meant I could actually read a book and relax somewhat whilst she was entertained, which was particularly useful as a solo parent. We enjoyed it so much we have decided to book again. AI stays aren’t normally my thing but this hotel provided everything I needed to have some actual moments of relaxation and for my daughter to have a lovely time.

Best hotel ever !
We stayed here for 4 night and it was amazing ! As soon as we arrived we were looked after special mention to Miriam for her excellent hospitality by the poolside she made our wedding anniversary extra special. We will definitely be returning

Good but avoid Aida block
I will start this review by saying we had a fantastic time at this hotel. It’s immaculately clean and in a fab position for exploring all the local bars and restaurants. In the main staff are lovely and friendly especially at reception. However the price tag does not equal the five star expectation in some areas. We had just booked a regular room and were given A212 in Aida block. We were pleasantly surprised with the view however less pleasantly surprised with the lack of soundproofing. On our first night we had to call reception to ask what time the music finished it was so very loud. If you are looking for peace and quiet do not expect to sleep before 11 in these rooms. The blocks are showing significant signs of wear and tear. The corridor carpets are stained and dirty looking sadly creating an initial poor first impression. The rooms are also not of a five star standard. Whilst immaculately clean the paintwork is chipped and have zero wow factor. The toilet is not soft closing and the shower is not particularly powerful. Our aircon was not working initially - it was fixed within an hour of reporting but never quite reached a cool enough level. The block is also a very long walk from the pool which involves countless stairs. Young families should avoid this block at all costs. My daughter is coeliac and there were some limited gluten free options. You could request a book to order baguette at breakfast but we only found this out from another guest. Allergens at the pool bar are also incorrectly labelled. On the positive side the pools are wonderful as are pool towels and lifeguards. There is a lovely view of the sea and the pool entertainment is perfect - occasional, low key but popular and fun. Aqua aerobics was a huge hit. We were bed and breakfast so can only comment on the breakfast which was pretty good, plentiful with lots of choice and nice seating. The location of the hotel is fabulous - easy to walk to loads of bars and restaurants, shops and supermarkets. We did have a lovely stay at this hotel but I would have to question whether the value justifies the price tag. Young families should seriously consider upgrading to a more central block. If the rooms and corridors were refurbished we would 100% return. This is a good quality hotel but could be amazing.
