Aug 29, 2026Perfect Hotel to explore Lisbon
My family and I stayed here for 7 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was perfectly located to explore all of lisbon with the metro only a 5 minute walk away and downtown lisbon 20-30 depending on your pace. As other reviews have commented, the breakfast is phenomenal, really great selection of produce and something for all tastes. On our arrival to the hotel we met Nedia who was guest relations manager and she is a perfect host. We saw Nedia most days and she would always stop to make conversation and check in with us to see how we were doing and if we needed anything extra to enhance our stay. Thank you Nedia for making our city break perfect. The Bar The bar at the hotel is great, good selection and good cocktail knowledge. Special mention to Santos who made the perfect Margarita and was kind and courteous to my family and I, loved chatting about the football with him. Obrigado Santos The Rooms We had a joining room as had our 2 boys with us, we all found the rooms to be clean with comfortable beds, hot shower, plenty of space and although we were road side and on floor 2, we hardly noticed any traffic noise and slept very well during our stay. The Pool and Pool bar Good size pool, decent amount of sunbeds, you do need to get down early in the morning to grab one, but that's fine. An outdoor pool in a busy city centre is very much an added bonus and great addition to the hotel, kids loved the pool. The pool bar is also great, good service and good snacks..try the ham and cheese toastie...delicious Free 1 hour Spa Perfect way to spend an hour with family, really cool swim spa/hot tub, sauna, steam room etc Overall the hotel with its decor and facilities could do with some modernisation and improvements however the people who work here are what make it 5* for me. My family and I had a great stay, managed to explore lisbon and its historical landmarks, all the surrounding areas and the Iberostar Selection Lisboa for us was the perfect base to do just that. We would definitely come back.

We have just returned from 3 nights here , the hotel was very clean and modern. Rooms are a good size although my older children didnt like the showers as they felt like they had no privacy ! Breakfast had a good variety and was easy to get a table. The hotel has a pool this is the reason I booked the hotel , the pool area is quite small so its hard to get a sunbed, there is an extra area but it was very unloved and felt like a carpark - its like its been totally neglected. Also it never seemed to be cleaned there was always dirty glasses left on tables. The reception and door staff are super helpful and friendly and made you feel very welcome

Overall positive experience
The hotel was very nice. The rooms were clean, shower was good and beds comfortable. We did get a room next to some room the cleaning staff used which made a lot of noises like moving furniture every morning which was annoying. The pool was nice but you need to arrive early to get a spot. The pool area could be cleaner there was old gum on our chairs and table and there was tobacco pouches EVERYWHERE around. The staff was wonderful and very helpful and location is very good. Overall a positive experience.

A good hotel, nut not quite 5-stars
This is a nice hotel, but not quite 5-star, as advertised. The highlight is its great buffet breakfast, one of the best that I've seen. The breakfast crew was also extremely nice and helpful. The rest of the hotel crew were nice, but pretty nonchalant about issues (i.e., when the elevator stopped working, when we asked if our room was set up during check-in, etc.). Housekeeping would miss our requests (e.g., extra towel), almost every day. The room that we were in (Jr suite) was renovated, but I'm not sure how/why a family room was renovated in a way that the shower was full glass (and without a door, allowing water to get out), and the bathroom's glass wall was only half sanded (and with no fan). So that was pretty weird. Location is close to the metro and probably a 30-40 minute walk to downtown.

An exceptional stay..incredible breakfast and outstanding service
We spent eight nights at the Iberostar Selection Lisboa this July, and it was one of the highlights of our time in Portugal. The location is ideal...right on Rua Castilho, moments from Avenida da Liberdade and the Marquês de Pombal, with the whole city within easy reach and still the hotel feels like a calm retreat the moment you step inside. The pool area is genuinely beautiful: a stylish, spotless deck with plenty of loungers, shade when you want it, and gorgeous blue water that was perfect after a warm day of exploring. We looked forward to it every single afternoon. Our room was immaculate, quiet, and comfortable with a lovely pool view. And the breakfast was incredible. Every morning brought a generous, beautifully presented spread: fresh pastries and fruit, made-to-order eggs, quality coffee, local specialties, and so much more. It was a genuine highlight of each day and set us up perfectly for exploring the city. The dining staff kept everything immaculate and welcoming, always with a smile. The service throughout was simply outstanding.. warm, professional, and attentive at every turn. Above all, Luisa was extraordinary. When we needed help sorting out some billing paperwork after checkout, she was extremely responsive..replying quickly, courteously, and with genuine care until everything was fully resolved. Her professionalism and warmth embodied exactly what a five-star experience should be, and that level of attentiveness, well after we'd already checked out, tells you everything about how this hotel treats its guests. Luisa and the entire team are a real credit to the Iberostar name. We can't recommend the Iberostar Selection Lisboa highly enough, and we'll absolutely be back. Thank you, Luisa, and the whole team!
