Sep 30, 2026Dangerous Bathroom.
Bathroom dangerous. When under "rainshower" you are standing on floor waste cover which just sits over waste hole and it moves much to easerly and you are then standing in bare waste hole or sliding across the shower floor on the 12cm square stainless steel cover. There are no towel rails and after shower you must walk 2.5 metres across the bathroom with wet feet on the tiled floor to get to the bath towels which sit on a ledge above the toilet. Cleaners are told to prioritise vacating rooms and so when we left our room at 9.30am with make up room and then returned at 1.45pm the room was still not made up and for 2 days we had no made up room and had to ask cleaners for clean towels and toilet rolls. No provision for tea making. Pillows are very narrow and long with bed headboard hard so occasionally would hit head on headboard.

Sep 12, 2026Nedia in Guest Services is Exceptionally Good
The biggest strengths of this hotel are its pool and its staff. For a hotel this close to the centre of Lisbon, the pool and the sunbathing area are unusually large. We liked to use the "overflow" sunbathing area and often had almost 100 square metres of space just to ourselves (although it would be good if this area could get a little more maintenance please to refurbish more of the benches). All of our interactions with staff were good, but Nedia in Guest Services was exceptional.

For a five star hotel Iberostar has a long way to go. Checking in was a chaotic affair. We were two families checking in at the same time - and 5 employees behind the counter. Still it took them 20 minutes to complete the check-in! As a compensation they said they upgraded us. When we got to the room it was exactly the room we had booked and already paid for. So no… you didn’t compensate anything! Room was ok. But the cleaning failed to do our room by the time we got back in the afternoon - twice! Breakfast was good. Location was great. But I would not call this a 5 star hotel!

Perfect Hotel to explore Lisbon
My family and I stayed here for 7 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was perfectly located to explore all of lisbon with the metro only a 5 minute walk away and downtown lisbon 20-30 depending on your pace. As other reviews have commented, the breakfast is phenomenal, really great selection of produce and something for all tastes. On our arrival to the hotel we met Nedia who was guest relations manager and she is a perfect host. We saw Nedia most days and she would always stop to make conversation and check in with us to see how we were doing and if we needed anything extra to enhance our stay. Thank you Nedia for making our city break perfect. The Bar The bar at the hotel is great, good selection and good cocktail knowledge. Special mention to Santos who made the perfect Margarita and was kind and courteous to my family and I, loved chatting about the football with him. Obrigado Santos The Rooms We had a joining room as had our 2 boys with us, we all found the rooms to be clean with comfortable beds, hot shower, plenty of space and although we were road side and on floor 2, we hardly noticed any traffic noise and slept very well during our stay. The Pool and Pool bar Good size pool, decent amount of sunbeds, you do need to get down early in the morning to grab one, but that's fine. An outdoor pool in a busy city centre is very much an added bonus and great addition to the hotel, kids loved the pool. The pool bar is also great, good service and good snacks..try the ham and cheese toastie...delicious Free 1 hour Spa Perfect way to spend an hour with family, really cool swim spa/hot tub, sauna, steam room etc Overall the hotel with its decor and facilities could do with some modernisation and improvements however the people who work here are what make it 5* for me. My family and I had a great stay, managed to explore lisbon and its historical landmarks, all the surrounding areas and the Iberostar Selection Lisboa for us was the perfect base to do just that. We would definitely come back.

We have just returned from 3 nights here , the hotel was very clean and modern. Rooms are a good size although my older children didnt like the showers as they felt like they had no privacy ! Breakfast had a good variety and was easy to get a table. The hotel has a pool this is the reason I booked the hotel , the pool area is quite small so its hard to get a sunbed, there is an extra area but it was very unloved and felt like a carpark - its like its been totally neglected. Also it never seemed to be cleaned there was always dirty glasses left on tables. The reception and door staff are super helpful and friendly and made you feel very welcome
