  A Comfortable and Enjoyable Stay

  We had a great experience during our stay at Iberostar Hotel Maya. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and a great place to relax. When we first arrived, we did have a small issue with the air conditioning, as it wasn’t working properly. We reported it to the staff, and they took care of it very quickly. We really appreciated how responsive and helpful everyone was and how quickly they resolved the issue. We also had the chance to try quite a few of the restaurants during our stay. One thing I really liked is that some of the restaurants don’t require reservations, and as a Maya guest, you have access to a much wider variety of restaurants and dining experiences, which is definitely a nice perk. For breakfast, we tried both Maya and Pagoda. We really enjoyed Maya, but unfortunately, our experience at Pagoda was quite different. The service there could definitely be improved. Some of the waiters were not very friendly, and the service was pretty slow. It was also common for our drinks to take a while to arrive. Thankfully, it wasn’t a huge issue since you can always go to the bar and get your own drinks if needed. We also went to Geisha, and the show was amazing! It was definitely one of the highlights of our stay. We visited L’Étoile and Marina as well. Marina was another place where I felt that some of the waiters could be a little more welcoming and attentive. Olivetti and Museo were fairly similar in terms of the overall experience, although one felt a bit more upscale and gourmet. Rancho, on the other hand, was one of my favorites. The staff were very friendly, the service was great, and the food was delicious. I also really want to take a moment to recognize someone who stood out during our stay: Diana, the hostess 🤩. She was always so attentive and would regularly check in to make sure everything was okay. We saw her at Maya during breakfast, at the dinner buffet, and at some of the à la carte restaurants, and every single time, she greeted us with the same big smile, kindness, and genuine warmth. Diana really made an impression on us. It’s not often that you see the same person in different areas of a resort and receive that same level of friendliness and attention every time. She made us feel genuinely welcomed, and I think employees like her deserve to be recognized because they really do make a difference in the overall guest experience. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and loved having so many different dining options to choose from, especially with the Maya benefits. I do think there is some room for improvement when it comes to the attitude, speed, and attentiveness of some of the waitstaff, but there were also many great experiences and some truly wonderful employees who made our stay memorable.

  # ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Exceptional Stay at Iberostar Selection Paraíso Maya Suites We had the most amazing stay at **Iberostar Selection Paraíso Maya Suites** and genuinely could not fault the experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and always willing to help with anything we needed. Travelling as a **group of 12**, we were really impressed with how well catered for we were throughout our stay. The hotel itself is absolutely massive, with so much to see and do. There are numerous pools, water slides, restaurants, bars and activities, so even after several days we still felt like there was more to discover. The slides are definitely worth trying — although some of them did hurt a little on the way down! 😂 The main pool, however, was fantastic: huge, clean and with plenty of space to relax. ### 🏊‍♂️ Pool & Drinks The pool area was one of our favourite parts of the resort. The pool was beautifully maintained and there were plenty of bars nearby, meaning you were never far from a drink. The drinks were **premium**, and there were also live cooking and food stations around the pool, which was such a great touch. And we have to mention the **ice cream** — absolutely incredible! The portions were extremely generous, and **Luz at the ice cream station** deserves a special mention for being so lovely every time we visited. The pool bar team around the Maya Suites pool were also fantastic. They were friendly, attentive and always made us feel welcome. ### 🛏️ Rooms The rooms were **incredibly spacious**, comfortable and well looked after. Our fridge was restocked every day, which was really convenient, and we regularly came back to find lovely towel decorations waiting for us. A huge thank you to **Minerva**, our cleaner, for all her hard work and for the little touches that made our room feel so special. ### 🍽️ Food & Restaurants The food throughout the resort was amazing. There is such a huge choice that you really need plenty of days to experience everything! Booking some of the restaurants can be a little challenging because reservations are handled through the app once you arrive, particularly for the Steakhouse. However, this is where the concierge team really helped us. **Isai and Edwin** were fantastic and did everything they could to help us with restaurant bookings and requests. During our stay we managed to eat at the **Teppanyaki, Greek, Seafood, La Marina, Mexican Restaurant and Sports Bar**, and every experience was great. We just wish we had more days because there were still so many restaurants we didn't get the chance to try! A special mention to **Daniela**, the quesadilla chef at La Marina during breakfast — the quesadillas were fantastic! We also had a great experience at the **Mexican Restaurant**, with **Israel** providing excellent service. And the **24-hour coffee shop** was a brilliant addition. Having somewhere open around the clock for a good coffee and snacks was especially useful, and the coffee was genuinely really nice. ### 🇲🇽 Mexican Independence Day One of the highlights of our trip was being able to celebrate **Mexican Independence Day** while we were there. The hotel did an incredible job decorating the resort and put on a fantastic Mexican market. It was a great opportunity to experience some of the traditions and culture of Mexico, and it really added something special to our stay. ### 🏖️ The Beach The beach was lovely and peaceful. There was some seaweed during our visit, but this was completely expected for that time of year and certainly didn't ruin the experience. Having a **bar right on the beach** and plenty of sunbeds made it easy to spend a few relaxing hours there. The atmosphere was calm and it was a really enjoyable part of the resort. ### 🎭 Entertainment & Activities We unfortunately didn't manage to see any of the **shows** during our stay, simply because there was so much else going on and we were always busy enjoying the resort. However, we heard lots of great things from other guests about the entertainment. There was plenty going on besides the main evening shows, including **live music in the lobby bar, games, wine tasting and chocolate tasting**. There were also activities happening throughout the day. A few of our group took part in **archery**, which they thoroughly enjoyed. A special mention to **Valentin from the archery team**, who was fantastic and made the experience really enjoyable. A special mention also goes to **Miguel from the entertainment team**, who was brilliant. ### 🛍️ Resort Facilities The onsite shopping centre was another great feature. If you've forgotten something, there's a very good chance you'll be able to find it there, so you don't necessarily need to leave the resort. The **spa** was also a great bonus, particularly as Maya Suites guests receive **two hours of free access**. And then there's the **churro shop** — absolutely amazing! 🍩 There was also an ice cream/crepe area, burger restaurant and taco restaurant. We didn't manage to try the burger or taco restaurants this time, but that's just another reason to come back! ### 🐒 A Couple of Minor Things There were only a couple of small things that stopped the stay from being completely perfect. The **Wi-Fi did drop in and out occasionally**, and our TV stopped working for one night. Neither was a major issue and certainly didn't impact our holiday. As the resort is an **eco hotel**, there are animals around the property, which we loved seeing. However, you do need to keep an eye on your food when you're sitting around the pool, as some of the little visitors will happily try to steal it from your sunbed! 😂 ### 🌟 Special Mentions There are so many members of staff who deserve recognition, but we particularly wanted to mention: Luz – Ice Cream Minerva – Housekeeping Isai & Edwin – Concierge Daniela – Quesadilla Chef, La Marina Breakfast Israel – Mexican Restaurant Ulises – Towel Service Luz – Sports Bar Miguel – Entertainment Team Valentin – Archery The entire Pool Bar Team at Maya Suites Every one of them contributed to making our holiday so enjoyable, and their friendliness and willingness to help really stood out. ### ❤️ Would We Return? **Absolutely. Without hesitation.** Travelling as a group of 12 can sometimes make holidays complicated, but the hotel handled everything brilliantly and made us feel incredibly well looked after. There is so much to do, so many restaurants to try and so many different areas of the resort that even after our stay, we feel like we only experienced a fraction of what Iberostar Selection Paraíso Maya Suites has to offer. We had an **amazing 5-star experience**, and we would **definitely return and stay again**. If anything, our only regret is that we didn't stay long enough — next time we'll definitely need more days! 🇲🇽🌴☀️

  Will no longer go to Iberostar Selection Paraiso Resorts (after many stays in the past)

  After having stayed at Maya/Lindo many times over the last 15 years, I will not be going back. It appears that the resort has totally become strictly family oriented which is not why we booked to stay in the Maya resort. We purposely decided to pay for Maya as it was still being advertised as adult only and it gave us access to bars/restaurants we could not access if we stayed at Lindo. That was totally not the case. There were families staying in Maya as well as being permitted in the bars. Three years ago it seemed to be changing but now has completely converted to be more of a family oriented resort. The number of children and babies was amazing. Now I have a child and grandchild, but when I booked this vacation it was to be an adult trip with my sister and our husbands to celebrate my 40th anniversary. In addition to the number of children hanging at the pool bar section, the Maya bars and restaurants, it is not geared for adults looking for relaxation. I mean, the Maya restaurants, including the breakfast buffet, are now geared to children with step up areas to get food. Also, in the more adult restaurants there was non-stop babies crying and honestly, I could have saved $4000 by staying home and going to Outback and with less children being unruly. Again, I love kids but Iberostar needs to clearly state that this is a family oriented not just family friendly resort. There is a big difference. In addition, we could not even enjoy the lazy river at this stay as it was totally blocked off and the only way to get in was one access through the kids play area. Again, not very inviting and with a disability, lack of entrances made it difficult to access. The changes to the beach was also unexpected as there was no chair service and we now need to reserve our chairs. And again, hard to relax surrounded with children and crying babies when all we wanted to do was relax and hear the ocean. It was a very disappointing vacation from the standpoint of expecting to relax and our husbands really love the golf course there. Thankfully we did meet some fun people at the pool. We also had great service at the Lindo buffet (thank you Moisie for making it memorable) and at the seafood restaurant as service was fantastic. Again, nothing against family vacations as we took them with our daughter when she was young, not a baby, but old enough to behave in certain environments. This was the last time we will be at Iberostar and will be more mindful to check reviews of resorts to look for changes past guests have noticed. Hopefully the next resort will meet our expectations.   Amazing summer Vacations!

  We had an absolutely amazing time at this resort! Everything was fantastic from start to finish — the service, the atmosphere, the food, the pool, and the overall experience were all incredible. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better vacation! A special shoutout to Iliana, who took such great care of us. She made sure our needs were always taken care of, checked on us constantly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Her service and attitude really made our experience even better! We had an awesome time and would definitely come back again. Highly recommend this resort — 10/10 experience!
