Dec 02, 2025Newly renovated and air conditioning and ceiling fan not working
Called the front desk in the morning to report the thermostat in the room will not reduce the temperature in the room. Called again late afternoon around 5pm. No service technician yet. Called at 8:30 pm and finally got a technician to come look at it around 9pm. The Technician said he could do nothing about the thermostat. Then I asked if he could fix the ceiling fan and again he said that the earliest he could fix that was tomorrow. He suggested we change rooms. The front desk called and offered to change rooms but my wife was exhausted and didn’t want to pack up the room and then move and unpack everything again. Apparently this is the newly renovated building and the most important part isn’t working. Staff are nice.

Iberostar Puerto Plata is a world-class experience for experienced and first time travelers. The location, the layout of the resort, the cleanliness everywhere the food at their various restaurants and buffets,the beach, are all outstanding. However what really and truly makes this hotel outstanding are its employees. The service that you receive here is superb. And it's delivered with a warmth, a palpable willingness to serve, and a sincere smile every single time. I urge you to come and experience this fir yourselves. I had a fantastic massage at their spa at the hands of Nicaury delivered with the firm knowledgeable hands of someone who not only knew what she was doing, but enjoyed what she did. I hope Iberostar realizes what a treasure they have in her. And I trust that they are aware that it is their personnel from reception to the landscaping crew and everyone in between that is truly responsible for the fantastic vacation experience that is Iberostar Puerto Plata. Well done!

Hotel is great, food, drinks amd atmosphere are amazing.. the hotel is a little outdated in terms of furniture but the grounds are well kept ,beautiful, and has a relaxed vibe thruout.. highly recommend it.. the staff are amazing and friendly... worth every penny IMO..

Best time ever!
Top two of all our vacays!! Swim up bar and lobby bartenders killing it every day (Elvis, Fermine, Sosa and more!!). The entertainment staff Ninja, Smiley, King Kong, Boo-boo, Scooby-doi, Shaggy, Rambo, and Super Joe. With dance lessons, games galore, and love love, live!!! These folks made sure we had the best time ever!!

Nice people
Iberostar Costa Dorada Puerto Plata Excellent service, a friendly welcome, and a very professional team. The waiters/waitresses are friendly and professional. And let's not forget the housekeeping staff. Excellent service, and nothing you own or own is lost.
