Old, tired. Go somewhere else.
Seen better days. Old, tired, half broken. When you bring up the concern to management, they pass the buck to 'someone else', nothing gets resolved. I can see that at one point this was a great place. It no longer is. Bad communication, no accountability. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else. I bet they respond explaining how this was not their fault. Check the other bad reviews, there are many and all are blamed on 'something/someone' else lol

NOT equipped if there’s an emergency
Stayed here during hurricane Lala and I would tell you this property is not equipped for emergencies. There was a fire alarm and the property had conflicting intercom messages to the guests, very scary actually regarding using the elevators. Lack of service personnel and they themselves very confused. Beware if there’s an emergency, this is not the place to know how to handle it and quite scary especially when you are stuck on a high floor. Also very poor maintenance conditions, it does not appear they have regular maintenance protocols.

August 16th 2026 Fire
Why did the media not report about the 08/16/2026 Ilikai Hotel Fire in waikiki honolulu? On August 16, 2026 at 0700 hours, all ilikai hotel guests were awakened by a central PA speaker system announcing everyone to immediately evacuate due to fire and to use only the stairwell. 100s of people stampeded down from the 22nd floor to the ground level and were forced to stand out in the street under wet cold conditions. The fire dept arrived and we could all smell burning plastic. The cause of the fire was a burning tesla car in the garage. Ilikai told us nothing so after 1.5 hours, hotel guests started to go back upstairs. Once in the rooms ( everything was dark at this point) ilikai hotel announced that it was safe to go into our rooms. Then 1 second later, they announced that there was a fire and to leave immediately! What? Their left hand doesn’t know what their right hand is doing and they won’t admit their mistake in dispensing wrong info. This is incompetence. We called them and they said do not leave. So we stayed in our rooms. At 8pm, hilton hawaiian village and other nearby buildings had their energy restored, their lights were on. Everyone except Ilikai. Then at 930pm Ilikai finally got it back. Lights were on again. The very last hotel! Then at 1130pm Ilikai lost it again. As of 08/17/2026 at 2100pm, Ilikai still has nothing. What this means is No AC no TV no wifi no cell charging, all lobby restaurants shut down, rotting food. No drink. You must leave Ilikai to eat, & top off phone. No laundry service no coin op. Ilikai, do better!

Do not recommend
We stayed at Ilikai Hotel & Luxury Suites and I was more than disappointed with the service offered. Note "Luxury" in the name. We booked directly through the hotel's website. Late night (after 11PM), our toilet was clogged. So I called front desk to ask for help. Front desk said no maintenance available after 11PM until 8AM in the morning. Honestly, this itself shocked me, that "Luxury" resort does not provide 24hr maintenance service. Front desk then offered a plunger, which I had to come down and pick up myself. I asked if they can send it to my room. He said that he is the only one working until 8AM, so he can't leave, and I had to come get it. Second shock for me that the hotel has only 1 person available to help customer after 11pm. I came down and got it but couldn't fix it myself. So I called to see if they had on-call maintenance and he said no. He's only offer was to use bathroom in a room on another floor, which hasn't been cleaned yet; meaning someone checked out, and no housekeeping has been done yet. This was the most shocking response honestly; that hotel would offer to let customer use dirty room's bathroom. It seems like a health and hygiene issue, not just poor service. What if one of us had gotten sick after using un-cleaned toilet or if there was any unknown exposure. Obviously I declined, and we just couldn't use bathroom until next morning (Lobby bathroom is also closed until the morning). To me, this is service that I would expect from motels/inns and be understandable with (Not the offer to use dirty room's bathroom, I wouldn't really be okay with that anywhere). Not a place named Hotel and Luxury Suites. As for rooms, not clean. Carpets had stains and some drawer handles were sticky. Bathroom sink and shower drain were terribly clogged. Also, valet was terrible. The guys worked hard. But they were either significantly under-staffed or something was wrong with their system. Cars were constantly backed up to the streets. Many times, there was nobody, and no rooms on the sides, so cars just have to unload in the middle, which causes more backups. Again, the valet workers were working hard and they were nice. Something is just not working with valet service as a whole, yet only parking option is valet. I would not stay at this place and would not recommend.
