  Great place to stay in Bora Bora

  Lovely stay. Great location and the staff was very helpful. Beautiful spot with free access to water activities Staff were all Excelllent and especially appreciate our regulars sever Lena at the restaurants Would visit here again Thanks for a great vacation

  Good, not great

  Overall we had a good experience here. The overwater bungalows are very private and the water is incredible. I like the location of this resort because it's not near any others, but it's easy to get to. Service at main desk was great, as it usually is at Intercontinental and they readily helped when our flight to Tahiti was canceled. Bungalows are a bit dated and not in pristine condition. If they weren't over the water, they were be very average hotel rooms. The restaurants were mostly good, with a typical Continental buffet breakfast. One night the dinner was absolutely terrible, with cold food, a plastic bag served under the fish on my husband's plate, food tasted old and took over 1 1/2 hours to get served. We stayed there 4 nights and had good meals for 2 nights, but this was so bad it must be mentioned. The service was the bigger concern in that they were very nonchalant about what was a clearly horrible dinner service. So, overall a decent experience but I might explore other resorts next time on Bora Bora.

  Stay of 4 nights and 5 days

  The hotel is on a beach in a big lagoon the Matira beach area. The set up with water bungalows is superb as the lagoon is shallow and no current so one can laze in the water from the water bungalow or beach. The food too has superb variety as is the sumptuous and large variety breakfast. The service too was very good with everyone from reception to staff very polite and helpful and fast. And of course not to forget Lawrence the Director general of the resort who went out of her way to help in all ways. We had a wonderful time and would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Bora Bora. One main reason being that the hotel is on the mainland of the island and one can drive around to Vaitape the centre at any time.

  Bad experience at Intercontinental le Moana dinner with dance show

  We were not staying at the intercontinental , but we booked a dinner there for the Polynesian dance event . We have been very disappointed by the experience : 1) As we were not staying in the hotel , our table was the worst possible position .When I complained to the Manager that I was not informed that the worst tables are allocated to the non staying guests and that no information given before I paid during my booking directly at the hotel .The Manager said she can't do anything . 2) The buffet food was terrible , very limited choice and many dishes are finished and we need to wait for a refill and rush there as other people were also looking for food . Even simple food like raw tuna , which is widely available in French Polynesia was not served , the porc meat supposed to be cooked Chinese way was not good and certainly cooked by a Chef who have little knowledge of Chinese cuisine , the western food wax not better . I pity the staying guests who have to suffer this buffet every day . 3) The high price doesn't even include water ! 4) As it was impossible to see the show from our table , we have to stand up to see the performance of the dancers . 5) The only positive element of the evening was the dancers and their show . Overall a big disappointment with Intercontinental dining event ,quality well below what could be expected from an hotel affiliated to the Intercontinental brand .

  Beautiful setting on the multicolored lagoon.

  We had OWB 14 which was near the end of the pontoon. The large villa included a sitting area, large bedroom, nice bath. It was the most comfortable villa that we have stayed in since arriving in French Polynesia. We appreciated that it had plenty of lighting and that it appeared recently renovated. The highlight was the glass coffee table where we spent much time enjoying the fish below our room. There are also colorful fish and rays to see while snorkeling in the beautiful lagoon which changed from a perfect aqua color to cobalt blue on a reef about 50 feet away. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed talking to Manager Levy each morning at breakfast. Our stay at the property was way too short. This will be our go to place if we are lucky enough to return to Bora Bora.
