  A truly magical stay at JA Manafaru 🌴

  Our stay at JA Manafaru was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed, cared for, and completely at home. The breathtaking island, turquoise water, beautiful beaches, delicious food, and wonderful atmosphere made our holiday truly unforgettable. A very special thank you to our Butler, Mohamed, whose kindness, warmth, and genuine care made our stay even more beautiful. JA Manafaru is a little piece of paradise, but it is the people who make a place truly special. We are leaving with beautiful memories, full hearts, and the hope of returning one day. Thank you to the whole team for making our stay so wonderful. Until next time, JA Manafaru!

  Idylic family holiday in paradise

  This could not have been a better experience for us. The island is a paradise, the food exceptional and every single member of staff on the island went out of their way to make us feel welcome and catered for. The accommodation we stayed in was incredible and the resort has thought of everything to make your stay memorable and relaxing. We were so sad to leave and will definitely return!   Amazing time for our engagement, best hotel we have been so far. Service was outstanding. So much better than all the five star hotels we have been to :). The island and everything was truly kept in a beautiful manner. So grateful for that trip. Thank you

  Still an Incredible Resort, but Not Quite the Same as Before

  JA Manafaru is, without a doubt, one of my benchmark hotels in the Maldives. I have had the opportunity to stay there three times and, despite some changes compared with my previous stays, it is still a hotel I would happily return to if the value for money is right. One of its greatest advantages is its location. The island is quite far away from other hotels and resorts, which provides a level of privacy and exclusivity that is difficult to find elsewhere in the Maldives. The beach is simply spectacular, with sand so fine and soft that it feels like flour, while the lagoon is absolutely beautiful, with incredibly clear and transparent water, even compared with other resorts in the Maldives. The overwater villa with a private pool is another major highlight. It is very spacious, comfortable and offers a fantastic experience, particularly for those looking to enjoy a few days of peace, privacy and relaxation. The food remains one of the hotel’s strong points. The cuisine is generally exceptional, and the service is also outstanding. However, as this was my third visit, I have noticed some changes. As an all-inclusive guest, I felt that the dining options have become somewhat more limited than on previous occasions. There are now certain dishes that come with an additional charge, whereas they were previously included in the all-inclusive package. I have also noticed a slight decrease in the quality and, particularly, in the presentation of some dishes. In terms of atmosphere, I felt that the resort has a little more entertainment and activity than it did a few years ago. Nevertheless, it remains a very peaceful resort, without any real sense of crowds or bustle, making it easy to enjoy the tranquillity one expects from the Maldives. The transfer from Malé Airport is comfortable. In our case, we travelled by seaplane and the experience was very good, as we hardly had to wait before departing. There are also a few changes compared with my previous visits that are worth mentioning. The service feels somewhat less personalised than before, and the former Infinity Pool is no longer available. The resort now only has the main swimming pool located in the centre of the island, which does not offer sea views. There is also one aspect of this stay that left me particularly disappointed. I am a Titanium member of GHA DISCOVERY, but the DISCOVERY Dollars I expected to earn from this stay were not credited to my account. I contacted the hotel to claim them, but I was told that I was not entitled to them because the reservation had been made through an agency. This is particularly disappointing because, in my experience, this has not been an issue with the other hotels within the GHA DISCOVERY loyalty programme. Given the very high amount paid for a one-week stay at this resort, I find it frustrating not to receive the loyalty benefits I would normally expect as a Titanium member. Despite these minor drawbacks and the fact that I have noticed a slight decline in quality compared with my previous stays, JA Manafaru remains an incredible resort. The island, the beach, the lagoon, the villas, the tranquillity and the overall experience make it one of my favourite resorts in the Maldives. For all these reasons, despite the changes, I would definitely return, provided that the value for money is right. It is still a very special Maldivian experience, offering a level of privacy and exclusivity that is not easy to find elsewhere. However, I hope that the resort will review some of these aspects, particularly the loyalty programme benefits for returning guests, as these details can make a significant difference when choosing to come back to a hotel for a fourth time.
