We have had a great week! The weather has been perfect! All of the restaurants are good; we liked Japanese best. Some issues with our room but they were taken care of immediately. The mini fridge was kept full all week. Houston is a great butler! He went above and beyond for service.

Houston was a very nice butler. The Joia was a great place for our 30th anniversary. The Japanese restaurant was very good. The food overall was good. The weather, pool, and beach were perfect. The golf was nice and similar to what you would see at “resort” courses.

Top Notch In Every Way
From the moment we arrived at JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar, we were greeted with cool washcloths, a refreshing ginger drink and friendly Cristian ready to check us in. He took the time to learn our names and say hello every time we saw him! Our room was clean and had everything we needed. The front desk was very responsive to any request we had, and we learned that the balcony door must be closed and locked for the air conditioning to work. The cleaning staff was thorough and the water pressure in the showere was the best! This was my tenth trip to the DR (first stay at this resort) and it's the only time I can say the food was really good! My friend and I liked to eat early, so we never had a problem getting into the restaurants. Note that you must have a reservation if you wish to eat in the Japanese place where the food is cooked in front of you - again delicious and prepared to perfection by Salami. The buffet for breakfast and lunch offers lots of quality choices. The poolside grill is also very good. As a beach goer, it was never a problem finding a chair and a hut. It was lovely to be able to put down towels on the chairs before going to breakfast. The beach was cleared of the seaweed regularly which made for great walking. The staff at the pool bar was amazing - cheers to Tobias for his service with a smile and a fist bump! We met the most interesting people from around the world. The staff went above and beyond to make the guests happy. I choose to recognize those who made my trip extra special: Yary (her personality is bigger than her hair and she's just terrific!) and all of the fabulous servers at the restaurants: Benjamin, Antonio, Anyi D., Oscar and Francis. Our goal of sun, beach and relaxation in a beautiful setting was achieved! I must share that there was only one slight disappointment - our concierge Julianie. She told us that she had made a reservation at the Japanese restaurant and when we went to check in, we were told we were not on the list. Fortunately, by going directly to the restaurant, we were able to make our own reservation for the next evening. Glad it worked out because it was really yummy!

Iberostar Punta Cana 2025
This is our third time staying at this resort in Punta Cana. This property is the Adults Only part of the the resort. It's a beautiful resort and only 272 suites which is perfect as we prefer smaller resorts. The food is great, plenty of daily activities, shows in the evening and has a great Fitness Club and many fitness classes to choose from. Shout outs to: Our butlers: Reynaldo and Cofe Front desk: Cristian Entertainment/Spanish teacher: Yeli Pool bar service: Dionis and Julianna Breakfast buffet: Henry Zumba instructors: Braulio and Divi Yoga instructor: Edison And many more that unfortunately I don't have their names. We had an amazing time and look forward to returning in 2026!
