  Great resort, perfectly maintained, very pleased! 5 of 5!

  My wife and I just returned from 4 nights at the Kimpton Seafire. We are “seasoned travelers”; we are not snooty, and fairly easy to please honestly. I rely heavily on these reviews so I hope mine helps you!! Here’s our review of the resort and CI! THE RESORT: First, the Kimpton Seafire is amazing. Staff is great, service absolutely on par with a Ritz or better. Literally no complaints. Concierge service was very helpful as well! The resort is smallish and intimate, and just perfect. It is not adults only, but that was not a problem at all; it was vastly mostly adults. The resort is incredibly well maintained. And I mean the small details! For example, it’s not just clean and generally well maintained, but all the pool and beach chairs are sturdy, all fully functional, very unlike many (even high end) resorts. There are more than enough chairs, with umbrellas for all of them!, with poolside and beach service,… just great. And not only do they BRING you towels, they have what I’d call ‘towel slipcovers’ they put on your chair for you. 1st class. The Library Bar deserves its high accolades. We ended every night with a drink there! DINNERS: the onsite restaurant—“Ave” is as good as the other reviews you’ll see on here indicate. Top notch. But that said, our favorite meals were at an Italian restaurant offsite “Casanova by the sea”, and next door at “Bonny Moon beach Club”. We liked that one so much in fact that we cancelled another reservation and ate there twice. I cannot possibly recommend these two highly enough. If you like real ceviche, you MUST try the wahoo ceviche at Bonny Moon. Maybe the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth! (We almost cancelled our Ave reservations to go back to Casanova also!) OTHER MEALS: we ate breakfast onsite (included with our Delta vacations package). When we ate lunch, we made sandwiches. We went to Foster’s grocery store and got lunch meat, and also Blackbeard’s to buy whiteclaws (for the wife!) and Michelob Ultra for me to save some on the alcohol tab! If you’re eating every meal out, and ordering all your drinks, bring your wallet lol! TAXIS: Easy to get. Super smooth experiences!! Not overly expensive. EXCURSIONS: We did a private excursion with saltwater safaris cayman. New company, young owner/captain-whose family has been in Cayman for well over a hundred years. Captain Seth was amazing, and you will NOT find a better private charter for 2-7 folks. Cannot recommend highly enough! We also went to swim with sea turtles at the Cayman Turtle Center. I won’t say we regret it, but it was underwhelming to say the least. Which is such a shame, it could be an amazing destination but it’s under budgeted, understaffed and not particularly well maintained. (But we DID get to swim with sea turtles!). Just take a full face snorkel—you don’t want that water getting in your mouth and nose…. NEGATIVES: none. Literally. Sure, it was mosquito season, but we knew that. Sure, it was the “rainy season” (but we had perfect weather other than a quick rainstorm once or twice), and sure it’s expensive, but you should already know that if you’re looking at CI! Not a “negative”, but if you want nightlife, this isn’t the place for you lol. We love the casinos at many of our destinations, but we didn’t miss that at all. Likewise, no swim up bar like we usually have, but that made for an all the more intimate experience, and again, the beach and pool service was great!! We’ve been to about 10 Caribbean Islands and Mexico over the course of maybe 15 trips with some repeats over the last 10-12 years. This trip/experience was in our top 3.

  Fantastic hotel. DON’T MISS IT!

  Gorgeous modern decoration, specially at night. Really well done! The restaurant is amazing, breakfast super worth it. Every single personnel super attentive. I will definitely come back again. The rooms are very well designed and have a huge balcony. Eni, the concierge, was super helpful and kind. She reserved everything for us and we loved it. The location is SPECTACULAR. The beach was gorgeous and the beach service excellent. .

  Kimpton Seafire

  The resort is beautiful but the beach is better. Beautiful blue calm water. The resort is for relaxing. The staff is friendly and attentive. The yacht view room is spacious and the beds are comfortable. The poolside has free sunscreen, aloe and ice water. Unfortunately, the Coccoloba was closed…disappointing. Also, Ave restaurant is expensive. Make sure you find a package that includes the resort fee because it is $95 USD per day. That said, we loved the resort.

  Amazing stay!

  We stayed here for our 10 yr wedding anniversary trip. It was the most amazing week. Sept is off season so it wasn’t busy at all. We had a premium ocean view room and it was gorgeous! This was by far our favorite resort and we have traveled to many places around the islands. The staff was so kind and helpful. Special shout out to Tamoy (spelling?). She was a server by the pool with the kindest spirit. Made our trip so special.

  Already dreaming of our return

  This was our first stay at Kimpton Seafire in all our trips to Grand Cayman. We've heard so much about this resort and were very excited for our stay but also had high expectations given the price and all the great reviews. So imagine our disappointment when we first arrived at the hotel in pouring rain and the none of the 4 valet attendants present thought to offer us an umbrella, even as I got out of the passenger's side of my car to get my daughter out the back seat. We were soaked. One valet did eventually offer an umbrella-not to us, but to an existing guest who was coming back from a run. And when that guest declined, the valet attendant simply folded the umbrella back up instead of offering it to us. It seems like such a small gesture to complain about but this is the level of service I would expect from a luxury resort. I will say though that the evening valet are much kinder and more attentive in comparison every time we had to leave the resort. Thankfully, everything thereafter was nothing short of amazing. We were assigned a beautiful room with sweet treats and a personalized note to celebrate my husband's birthday, which was a nice touch. All the other staff we encountered were warm and friendly from the restaurant, the pool and the beach. By the next day, most of them greeted us by our last name, which is impressive for such a big resort. The ladies at the host stand for the main restaurant were always so kind. Our servers at Ave, Rhea and Alan were wonderful during dinner service. As was Girlie and Danilo during breakfast. The beach attendants were also very nice. Nick, Mo and Louis always helped to set us up. Food and drink service at the beach was timely. The grounds are impeccable and very well maintained. Our daughter very much enjoyed the splashpad/mini waterpark, although it could use a little refreshing. There are areas in the soft landing pads with green mildew on them. We enjoyed the happy hour in the evenings, which also had child-friendly offerings. Sometimes they would come around to offer frozen popsicles and frozen grapes in the pool/beach area. We missed it one time and Elianne from the pool went out of her way to bring some out for our daughter. Overall we had an amazing stay. Thankfully the little mishap at the beginning of our trip did not at all reflect our overall experience. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to have no-smoking policy or at least a designated smoking area, especially since Kimpton Seafire is such a family-friendly resort. They have this policy in place at the Ritz in Aruba which is another family-friendly resort and it just makes so much sense. There was a man at the beach who smoked a cigar at length everyday and it wasn’t very pleasant to be around as the wind carried the odor further. Otherwise, we had a fantastic time and will absolutely be coming back to Kimpton Seafire for future trips to Grand Cayman!
