  If You Love the 1980's, you will Love this Place! Otherwise, Tired & Sad

  The unit was HUGE on the 3rd Floor with NO ELEVATOR! Nice Staff, but Totally confused walking in and seeing "Wyndham Destinations" No Notice that AIR CONDITIONING is an EXTRA FEE, but luckily there is almost always a nice breeze in Hawaii/ The Ground were beautiful, the Unit so 1980's, I kept looking for Michael J. Fox. Great Location

  Rude front desk

  We are SVC owners and have been coming here for over 20 years. At the beginning things were nice and new and everyone was very friendly. Our kids are teenagers/and adults now and we travel with my siblings and their families too. I’ve recommended this resort and we’ve all stayed here every few years. Our last and final trip here will be July 2026. Things have gone downhill from facilities and especially front desk, I’ve been considering going elsewhere and exiting SVC and this trip helped in making the decision. No longer happy vibes or smiles.. although housekeeping was very attentive and good. The location is great since very close to the market uphill and Kahalu’u . I tried checking in 20 minutes earlier and got attitude. Midweek an older lady in blue uniform (front desk?) very rude and yelled at my kids (ages 12-20) and cousins for not having wristbands while near the pool/ gym room. Only a few didn’t have wristbands plus nobody’s ever said you must wear them! On my daughter’s birthday she was yelled at and interrogated for our room number. This scared her to not return to the pool. Luckily my adult daughter stood up to this employee. I did not complain to management but after hearing it brought up a few time by the family I thought to share here. We are respectful rule following people and it saddens me to feel loss of the Aloha spirit.

  Good location with easy access to shopping and beaches.

  Kona coast Resort is a beautiful property surrounded by a golf course. We were in a two bedroom unit building 7-104, across from the Quiet pool and hot tub. This unit is showing its age with carpet and furniture that are showing wear. But is a fully equipped home away from home featuring two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. A large balcony with a table for 6. Great location with a shopping center in walking distance and easy access to beaches and shops. They are not policing the quiet pool the way should as we had young children running, shouting, and jumping into the pool on multiple occasions including one time with a security guard standing there. There is a large family pool for their use. The resort has plenty of activities for all ages.

  Great Location

  Keep in mind if you want Air Conditioning you will be charged extra for it. It is not included in the intial price. This is a first for me on that. Plan on eating out if you want good food and to save some money. the resort bar and grill are not cheap by any means.

  Customer service for hvac or lack of hvac

  We checked in the resort and our hvac died at 400am the room was at 85. I waited and called at 730am. They said someone would come at 930 we left and came back around 2 to find our room was 99. They said they would bring in two portable HVAC. We were never offered another room. At approximately 800pm our room was still in high 80’s. I went back to desk and told them It was unsatisfactory and we needed to move. They found a room in same building and moved us. With all of this said, we feel they should have moved us that morning or offered it. We shouldn’t have had to Go thru all of this all day . They did finally say they would not charge for two days of hvac and after telling them we shouldn’t pay for hvac at all they did that but truly feel we should have been offered no fees at all or at least given us some credit. Very disappointed
