May 04, 2026Paradise for kids, but otherwise uneven
Had our two first ever days in Colombia and it was a mixed bag of experiences. Positives: - Large complex with multiple (well kept) pools and direct beach access - The water slide was nice - Many activities, with some also being free - Quite spacious rooms, with nice balconies - Breakfast was quite ok - Common areas are decent with some shops, but they a kiosk like shop, with sodas, chips, candy would have been a nice addition. - Attentive lifeguards, that also runs a tight ship and keeps control around the pool Negatives: - Food is sub-par at all restaurants we tried, but even worse was the service. It's extremely slow, and even in empty restaurants, waiters are only walking around looking at the gigantic screens they carry around their neck. We have over 30 years combined in the hotel industry and travelled around the world extensively, and never encountered anything similar. They want you to tip, but for what? They just need to do better here.. - TV was broken for two days without them managing to fix it - Walls are paper thin - There's a glitch under the front door, so when we had the light on in our room, we suddenly got invaded by an armada of flying ants just before bedtime. Had to use towels, to block them. - Cleanig was just so and so, with quite a few old spider webs around our bed. - Lots of stuff broken or not working properly in the arcade room (air hockey and basketball among them). Would be an easy investment to fix.

Sun… Fun… Relax
We spent 3 days at Las Americas Torres, 3 adults and 5 children, we enjoyed the swimming pools, specially Eduardo’s (lifeguard) attention at the pools

Family Wedding- Great Stay
We absolutely loved our stay at Las Americas Torre Del Mar. Our room was stunning- we loved having two balconies with amazing views of the sea. Housekeeping was kind and attentive. We enjoyed the restaurants and bars around the hotel, and found service to be great. Hotel security, especially Chavez- was helpful and reminded us about what we may encounter on the beach and the way to book a tent each time we went out. We also enjoyed the concierge services- Hector and his coworker were very kind and helped us pick the right excursions. They recommended and excellent beach club for the Rosario Islands and we had a blast. We also enjoyed the mangrove tour- .

Apr 18, 2026High expectations, disappointing experience
We arrived with high expectations from the United States, especially since the hotel was recommended for families with kids. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The hotel looks nice, but it is poorly maintained. The rooms had a strong musty smell, the air conditioning didn’t work properly, and the bathrooms had humidity issues and were not clean. We even had to ask for the room to be cleaned again upon arrival. The kids’ area is in bad condition, with cracks in the pool floor and unsafe play spaces that could lead to accidents. The adult pools were in better shape. Food was good, but the service was very poor. Overall, the hotel has great potential, but maintenance and service need serious improvement.
