Nice big clean resort, food I was say is good, the Asian restaurant and the French were the better ones for me. The drinks could have had a lot less sugar in them in my opinion so avoided mixers and cocktails (so did the wife and she loves cocktails) Wish we were provided more information on check about the resort, the main issue is the customer service, most of staff don’t seem happy there and I felt some just chose to ignore or not help if they didn’t have to. That put me off and I probably won’t be staying there again because of this, when you are in an all inclusive resort customer service has to be at the top of the list to make you stay pleasant. Besides this the resort is pretty clean and so are the pools. I would say a 7/10 for us.

Excellent Customer Service Excellent service from the concierge team — Perla, Victor and Mateque on the way to the boulevard. They were always professional, friendly and attentive, making sure customers’ requests were handled efficiently and to a very high standard. Their excellent attitude and commitment to customer service really stood out and made a positive difference to our stay. Thank you for your great service!

Our stay at Lopesan Costa Bávaro Resort, Spa & Casino was very enjoyable overall. The location right on the beachfront is stunning, though there was quite a lot of sargassum on the beach; while there was some effort to clean it up, it looked like they just couldn't quite keep up with the volume. The property overall was kept very clean throughout our stay. The room was comfortable with plenty of space, though we did notice some minor wear on some of the equipment (like the shower, lights, and minibar). While the buffet options weren't as varied as we expected, the themed à la carte restaurants were excellent, with Boheme being our absolute favorite. We found the overall value to be good for a family trip. Additionally, the check-in and check-out process was completely streamlined, and we received very good service from the friendly staff from start to finish.

0 stars. Not 5. Stay elsewhere. Beware of the horrific service and terrible, rude staff at reception and guest services — they will ruin your vacation no matter how expensive it was. We stayed at Lopesan as a large party that included many small children and elderly family members. The hotel showed zero regard for its guests. Official check-in time is 3pm, yet our party was not assigned rooms until well after 7pm — more than four hours of waiting on a weekday. Rooms were only provided after we complained loudly and insisted on reaching out to the General Manager. Reception and guest-services staff were rude, dismissive, and openly disrespectful—eye-rolling, curt answers, and a complete disregard for customers. Before arrival we called and requested a rollaway bed and were told it would be arranged. At check-in the staff accused us of lying, claimed they do not provide rollaway beds, and when we showed them the emails confirming the request they could not care less — they even laughed. We also requested two extra pillows for the children and were told they never make exceptions and do not provide any additional pillows. Another guest from our own party requested the exact same thing and received them without issue. I have never experienced worse guest treatment in my life. Guest services, in particular Mirelys de Luna, were horrendous and appalling. She refused to help during the never-ending check-in, would not assist with providing the General Manager’s contact information, and even declined to arrange medical assistance for one of our group members. That refusal is true negligence. Victoria Roja from guest services was equally unhelpful. She refused to assist with an anniversary celebration and told us that unless we paid $800+ for basic balloons, the hotel could not even send a small slice of cake — completely ridiculous at an all-inclusive resort. One of the party guests was treated for a basic illness at the on-site doctor’s office, after which the doctor and hotel staff harassed us daily to sign a liability claim in case the hotel was responsible for the situation. We even spoke to Sara, the manager on site at the time. She denied that any of these events had happened and tried to pressure us into signing a liability form by offering a “new room” that we had never requested. When we refused to sign, staff proceeded to harass our entire party. The internal culture — especially reception, guest services under Mirelys de Luna and Victoria Roja, and medical personnel — is hostile, unprofessional, and negligent. The hotel has zero regard for its guests. Everyone is better off staying away to avoid the worst vacation and experience of their lives. We would not return and strongly advise others to do the same.
