It was a poor experience! Better resort out there for a better price
We recently stayed at Lopesan Resort in Punta Cana, and unfortunately the experience did not meet our expectations, especially considering the price. From the beginning, the arrival process felt unorganized. There was little guidance provided about resort policies, how things worked, or where to find key areas. Additionally, communication was often difficult since very few staff members spoke English fluently, and many did not fully understand what we were trying to communicate. Beyond the language barrier, the overall demeanor of the staff was disappointing. It often felt like we were being met with side glances or annoyance when asking questions or making simple requests. The service did not feel welcoming or accommodating, especially compared to other resorts we have visited, particularly in Mexico. One thing we found inconvenient was that the resort requires guests to use the Lopesan app for almost everything, including reservations, menus, and room requests. While the concept is modern and could be helpful, it becomes frustrating when Wi-Fi is slow or if you don’t have access to your phone. Another downside was the towel card system. Guests must exchange a card each time they want a towel, and missing cards at checkout result in a $25 charge per towel. This might be understandable if the towels were in excellent condition, but unfortunately many were stained, worn, or even ripped. For a resort at this price point, we expected better quality and availability. This towel policy also seemed to contribute to the issue of chair reserving, as many guests leave towels on chairs early in the morning. When we walked the beach area before breakfast, nearly every chair was already taken, which made it difficult to find seating later in the day. The food was another area that could be improved. While it wasn’t terrible, it was not particularly impressive, and the lack of a consistently open buffet made it harder to find food at certain times. Many dining options were closed during the day or required reservations, which wasn’t ideal if you wanted something quick or casual. Service in general also felt slow, especially when ordering drinks, coffee, or even trying to get a quick snack. Many places were closed depending on the hour, which made the overall experience inconvenient. One major concern for us was that smoking is allowed throughout the resort, including areas with families and children. This made the atmosphere less enjoyable, and we expected smoking to be restricted to designated sections. The room conditions were also not as comfortable as expected. The room had a muggy smell, and the bedsheets often felt damp, which made it difficult to fully relax. In addition, we booked VIP Access through Expedia, which was supposed to include a 25% discount on spa services. However, we were not given the discount until five days into our trip, and only after we asked about it. At that point, we were given a voucher and told to go to the spa to request a refund. The spa refused to refund us, and when we returned to reception, we were told nothing could be done. This felt extremely unprofessional. We also requested a late check-out and were initially told it would cost $60 per hour. Once we mentioned that we paid for VIP Access, the staff suddenly changed their response and apologized. It was disappointing that our VIP status was not already reflected in their system, as it made the process feel disorganized. Another frustrating experience was arranging a taxi. We were told to bring our receipt to reception so they could coordinate and confirm our pickup. When we went to reception, they had no idea what we were referring to and directed us elsewhere, where staff were also unaware. At pickup time, the staff member handling arrivals and departures questioned why we had not brought the receipt earlier—despite the fact that no one provided clear instructions. To make matters worse, during check-in we were informed that the arrivals and departures staff would remove our resort bracelets at checkout to avoid a $50 per bracelet charge. However, no one removed them before we left, and we only realized this once we were already on our flight home. Again, this reflected a lack of coordination and communication among staff. Overall, while the resort is visually beautiful in many ways, we felt the service, organization, cleanliness, and overall guest experience did not match the cost. Unfortunately, this is not a resort we would return to or recommend. Not cheap, and not worth the price.

Excellent overall, app needs more details
Quick 20 mins ride from the airport. New vibes in every part of the resort that you visit. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The food is outstanding in all buffets and restaurants. The service was great overall. We would definitely return to this resort. Tip* plan your dinners later than 6:30 if you want to catch the late entertainment shows at 10:00, no earlier shows than that. The app is not the best for detailing the daily activities so you may have to ask the entertainment staff daily.

Luxurious, vibrant, colorful and Lively!
We recently stayed at this resort and had a wonderful time. Food (quality and taste) was good, maintained cleanliness throughout the resort, staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms were nice, spacious and luxurious. Resort had planned activities throughout the weekend. The atmosphere was nice, colorful and vibrant. The resort provides tours for additional cost which are quiet safe and are guided. Money is worth spending and the price is also reasonable. The only area of improvement is sharing some details on how the app works, pool rules etc at the time check in at the front desk would have been helpful. Special shoutout to the staff - Pokemon, Pinky and Polanco
