  College Spring Break Bad Experience

  This was our first time at this resort and my 7th time in the Dominican (I have traveled at this same time of the year each visit). I love the beaches and have loved my/our stay on each of our visits so much that we suggested to some family members to tag along with us to the Majestic Colonial Resort (Feb 27th - March 4, 2025) and hoped they would love it as much as we did. The first couple days were great and loved this resort. We reserved rooms on the club side - our butler was Javier (an amazing young man - and really helped us during our stay). Our second night there - we were advised that there were 200 college students (from a certain college area) expected in - the next day. Our initial thought was concerning - but we couldn't imagine what was to come. We were traveling with family experiencing the Dominican for the first time and they had students banging on their door & running off repeatedly during the early hours of the morning (between 1 & 4 am). They also destroyed the property by kicking over the clay looking light covers along the walkways (cracking them) - I up righted 3 of them myself. One morning I found that several of these covers were thrown onto the grass and was quite disappointed that these "Adults" could behave like this. They are in paradise and are treating it with no respect at all. And to me - if you can't act like an adult - how can you be allowed to be on the adult only club side (where we reserved our rooms). Don't get me wrong - there were very respectful students there, but the bad ones outweighed the good. One morning I found french fries trailing the main floor of the club side - with the end of the trail revealing the empty french fry containers - just crazy unrespectful behavior. On a good note - we loved the property so much and plan to return to the Dominican but not sure if we can do this resort again. I have stayed in 3 other resorts over the years (1 - repeatedly until it closed) and have never experienced anything like this. I can't express enough, how bad I felt, that this was the (couple that we were with) first impression of their Dominican stay. The pool was beautiful though - the wait staff were so friendly, and the drinks were awesome! And of course you can't complain about the sunshine!

  Great resort with great food and service!

  Resort was amazing, food was great and staff was the best. The rodeo steakhouse was by far our favourite restaurant. Hildali was our server for the week and she always worked so she was always so friendly and she always made sure we were looked after. I cannot say enough about the service!

  Sun, Sand, Sea - all together at this beautiful resort!

  This was our second vacation at the Majestic Colonial and we loved it just as much as we did the first time. The staff is always friendly and accomodating. A special shout out to Christina from the entertainment team, she is a gem! The facilities are well maintained and even though the resort was fully booked it never felt crowded. There are plenty of food and bar options and the beach is fantastic. We also felt that the food was better now than it was 2 years ago when we first visited. We can't wait to return!

  Definitely will be back to introduce some friends to this place.

  Resort property is beautifully kept up, the staff are friendly and attentive. March break crowd was lively but respectful we met some very nice kids (we are in our 60's). We stayed in colonial club section swim out room, would do this again. 2 thumbs up to the bartender July, his professional demeanor and fun loving attitude was entertaining, he knows his drinks. The food was very good, enjoyed the beach buffet for breakfast and the lunch bbq. We dined at the seafood food and steak house at night. The Japanese restaurant was entertaining and delicious. We had breakfast and a delicious meal at the gourmet club restaurant under the stairs. A shout out to Elpidio (manager) his staff and his hard work are recognized and appreciated. After check-in we were met by our Butler Edith Edwards and she helped us slip into a nice relaxing week. Ediths excellent knowledge and experience of the resort helped us navigate the week with good food choices and dining times that were greatly appreciated. At her suggesting we took a relaxing message and enjoyed the spa amenities. After only a week we consider Edith a friend, she took very good care of us, making us feel like we were her only guests.

  Rueben made our stay!

  Had a great time on our recent visit. Weather was lovely, beach and resort were beautiful - but the real star of our particular show was our sommelier, Rueben. We met him on our first night at The Steakhouse, and we became fast friends for the rest of our stay. He helped us arrange the most memorable dinners each and every night, and was always there to make sure we were taken care of.. even when our group sizes ballooned to 8, 10, 14+, everyone wanted to be part of our dinners!! Reuben, his boss Carlos, our favorite server Bienvenido (apologies again for making you miss your bus!) Made us feel so special, and treated us like VIP's... thank you so much for all the special attention, it meant the world to our group!
