Nice hotel, no beach. Food ok but not amazing.
Visited here as we love the brand and as the Margaritiville in Cap Cana had changed to Dreams we thought we’d give Mexico a try. It didn’t disappoint. Although there is no beach as such the pool more than made up for it. The journey from the airport is a bit of a trek and we were second guessing our decision to book when we were driving down the bumpy road which was more of a dirt track but when we got there it was fine. Check in was so so, gave us an ice lolly but we felt that it was more of a transaction than a welcome. This could be because we’re used to the hospitality in the DR? The room had typical Margaritaville decor and was clean and well thought out. The bed was huge and really comfortable. There were always beds around the pool if we got there before 8am and an abundance of clean towels. Restaurants were good if you can manage to get a reservation, we found that the more you tip or if you’re part of their timeshare programme you get better times but we didn’t mind. It was a little annoying that they were saying that they couldn’t fit us in until later in the evening but everyone complaining that the restaurants were empty, may be a staffing rather than a capacity issue? Steak house was a bit meh, Italian nice and landshark was the same menu as the other Margaritaville hotels so we ate there most of the time outside overlooking the water which was nice. There were quite a lot of roach type insects at night which I wasn’t keen on but no mosquitoes at all. We had a nice time overall, I’d go again but wouldn’t say it was as nice as the one they sold in the DR.

Vacation with friends
After arriving at Cancun airport transportation to resort was waiting for us to resort . All was very clean / food was very good at all restaurants and buffets . Only thing that could have been better was dinner at JWB Steakhouse took 2 1/2 hours from arrival to leaving but we started with drinks then 2 courses of appetizers then main course . Waiters were attentive with refilling drinks and food was excellent . Just a long time from start to finish after a long day out by pool and other daily activities . Our butlers Isaac and Armando were excellent . Met us in lobby at arrival and took care of all our needs from start to finish sending daily list of activities / set up all dinner reservations / assisted with booking golf outing and fishing charters / getting our luggage to and from rooms / preparing lounge chairs and towels poolside daily . When we had questions we communicated through what’s app and they always responded immediately and made themselves available right away to take care of any requests we had . Very hard working , polite and were eager to please !
